- A life long Phillies fan remembers the day that the fans didn't just come to watch the game...but to take a piece of it home with them as well. He knows because he was there at 21st and Lehigh in North Philadelphia...saying goodbye to Connie Mack Stadium.
Hey bob do you remember the fighting Phil’s song by the Delaware county string band A moral booster to say the least I remember the last game. Isn’t it so sad.
Did anyone in those days try to save Shibe Park or Crosley Field or Forbes Field or whatnot? Or did no one care?
Thank you for this wonderful video. But my memory is 1963, Callison, Gonzalez, Covington, Mahaffey and Wine. Would not trade those memories for anything. I will think about those Phillies even my last day on earth.
..Demeter, Rojas, Dalrymple, Taylor, Bunning, Short, Baldchun, Allen, Sievers, ...yeS I miss it so. ,Saam, Campbell, Ashburn ...WFIL
I worked with the help of the Phillies video archives unit to produce this piece. They had these highlights.
My high school team and i would go to what once was shibe park and all touch the plaque and pray we won 3 state championships so it worked
I would love to see the full video of this. Where is this footage from?
Hey Bob....thanks for sharing this link. Were you with other Wissahickon grads that day?
I went to Wissahickon in the mid 70’s. How do you know Bob went there?
