I think you're right with Thor. He's lost nearly everything/everyone he's close to, he blamed himself for Thanos getting the snap. But, Spiderman is right behind him. Hopefully the next movie will have him reunite with MJ and Ned.
That's a tough one! Each one, I felt, had such a unique and fitting story to the character and got to embody the stages of grief in various layers but if we had to go with personal favorites probably Bucky and Sam's story. Black Panther includes some real grief though so it's defiantly in the top overall best stories.
Wow this video was your best yet (and that’s saying something). I love your take on this phase and love the positivity that not a lot of others are showing. I feel like showing this to people who are skeptical could make them change their minds and make them them appreciate this phase a lot more. I really respect how much you dove into each show and movie in this phase, which has so much content tbh, and tied it together in such a flawless way (I can def see the psych major coming through having known you during those years lol😂). Each example was so well thought out and you hit the nail with all of them. The editing was also incredible, the beginning pulled me in right away and that final quote at the end tied everything together perfectly. You’re really killing it with these videos 👏🏻
Damn bro, that's some high praise and I appreciate that! I think Phase 4 has had some problems for sure but showing the humanity of these characters definitely isn't one of them. I've had this idea for a few years, I'm just glad that I finally went through with it. The psych major in me definitely wanted to add more to the non-marvel related sections, but I think I said enough without turning this into a lecture lmao. Thanks for watching ✊
i can’t believe you’ve actually talked me into watching Love and Thunder and Wakanda Forever (tbh i’ve been Going Through Some Shit and was avoiding them specifically because of Jane having cancer and T’Challa as a character dying because Chadwick Boseman died in real life, usually Thor and Black Panther are my favourites)
Bravo. You've brought to my attention a central theme of Phase 4 that went right over my head. I enjoy watching creators discuss this franchise that I love but I have yet to see this point made or talked about. Talk about missing the forest for the trees!
Thanks for watching! Yeah, this phase was pretty emotional. I’ve got some more Marvel vids on the way that I’m just as excited to make as I was to make this.
I must say that this analysis makes me feel a little "better" about Phase 4 - but I still found most of the movies not worth the price of admission and most of the shows not worth the time invested. I gave up entirely once I saw the Loki previews. All the shows and movies just looked like they would not be my cup of tea and I haven't watched an MCU project since - oh wait I also saw Black Widow and Eternals - really checked out after those. If the MCU wants me back they have to bring back something actually entertaining.
Tbh that’s understandable, Phase 4 has its ups and downs. If your foot was out of the door, then Black Widow and Eternals are definitely the movies that would make you drop it completely. There’s nothing wrong with not watching everything. Personally I found WandaVision, Loki, Shang Chi, Hawkeye, Spider-Man Werewolf by Night and Black Panther 2 to be the most entertaining, if you’re interested in watching other stuff. At this point though, I don’t really have expectations for the quality of upcoming projects except for Guardians 3 tbh, but I’m still along for the ride.
This is so awesome! I really love your connections with everything, I feel comics and movies like these have the ability to capture such strong and powerful emotions like grief in cool ways we can relate to and reflect on, and I really love someone with your amazing talent breaking it down and expanding on it further. I honestly never really thought about the movies in this sense before but it totally makes sense and is defiantly something needed for marvel's growing story imo. Can't wait for more awesome stuff (I know I said awesome a lot but I mean it your vids are really inspirational and cool!)
My guy, you are soooo underrated, because this video is just 😙🤌 While phase 4 does irk me in some ways that the previous phases don't, I absolutely love the connective theme of grief exploration and you put it beautifully in here.
Who’s story from Phase 4 do you think was the most emotional?

A great addition to the 'justifying phase 4 to the critics' catalogue on TH-cam! Thanks for this thoughtful analysis

I hope you're at least in a better place now
This is such a good video. The ending was perfect. Well done.
Thank you!

I think BPWF was the most emotional story of Phase 4
I went into the movie expecting that, but still ended being surprised at just how sad things got
This video's fantastic!!! So many connections I never noticed before.
How does this only have 89 likes? This video is fantastic and seriously underrated.
Thanks!
The end of this made me cry man.

Yes. And SO MUCH yes!
Thanks for watching! This is one of my favorite videos out of everything I’ve made
