I just picked up the brass 154 cm for 85
One year later, I still love the McKenna. Such a great little knife. Civivi knives are such a great value. Wonder if Frankie and Bird still have their McKenna? (As they said they would never get rid of it)

Just picked up one of the new versions with 154CM steel and brass handle. You guys should check out one of these new variants. The bit of extra weight is not a bit of an issue for me and it adds such a solid feel to the knife.
I absolutely love my mckenna and plethiros I have them both in Tan. Civivi is one of my favorite knives right now I love the full flat grind. Hope y'all have a great week my friends.

It's weird, but I think CIVIVI has more compelling offers right now than WE proper. They have some of Isham's cleanest designs. A friend of mine who thinks nothing of $4k+ customs just grabbed one of their knives, and is pretty excited about it. I have to hand it to WE, unlike KAI who's scared to death to allow Kershaw to cannibalize ZT, CIVIVI is forging their own path and producing some world class efforts in the process. Is there stuff I'd change on this? You bet, but I've had pricier pizza. And this knife won't give me the squirts.
Agree, it has probably more to do with what you like/use the knife for. If its purely as display knife WE has same great designs but I like to carry my knifes and use them and for that Civivis clean simple design and nice materials are great and I you loose it, damage it etc. it doesn't hurt as much as some of the higher priced knifes.
Got McKenna in brass with 154CM steel mostly because I theme my edc around brass, like the design and honestly its much better option then some other brass scaled knifes, locking which is pretty much mandatory for any knife I use, small and thin enough to fit in suit pocket, long enough to be useful for light duty edc task with a solid steel (nothing against D2) but for me 154CM is the sweet spot, easy to sharpen, keeps an edge for a long time (with light use you almost never need to sharpen it), stainless and pretty affordable.

Adding to the fun of the knife is that it's easy and satisfying to flip more like a traditional flipper as well (using your index finger, over the knife).

I have 2 Mckennas so far, great little knife, I have 2XL glove size mitts can still squeeze a 4 finger grip on it. As you said great action!

How does the action compare to the mini smoke? Would you say the mini smoke has better action?
I would say very comparable, but a bit of an edge goes to the smoke it’s a better size and the front flipper can’t be beat -Frankie

I love front flippers. I like my Fiest, except for the blade thickness. It's a bit too thick for slicing apples. The Damascus version of this is really tempting.

Imo their titanium clip sucks but their basic clip is one of the best as far as basic function.

detent on mine is just a little stronger; when I close mine I can swing it closed without the blade rebounding out, but yours seems a bit weaker as shown.

I highly recommend the Civivi Aquila. Sexy blade. Most WE looking Civivi, imho. My favorite Civivi, McKenna included.
I bought one and it has amazing quality and action. However, it's just too small for my XL hands. I'm no klutz, but have dropped it a few times, and it cut me pretty good.

Been looking for my first front flipper, but I'm stuck between this and the Metamorph. If my local knife laws aren't an issue with length, suggestions about which I one should get? I have medium size hands btw.
I wear large to XL gloves and I have no issues with the ergos on this knife. Very smooth and lightweight...great knife IMO.

Bought and returned. Too small for me, which is a bummer because I LOVE the design. I wish it was 3.5".

Yeah the CIVIVI McKenna is an EDC "Must Have" IMHO!!!
Civivi has better clips than the Bestech budget line. The only good clip is on the Kendo. Civivi fold over and Ti clips are the best! 👍🏽🔪

@@beanie0026 The one TwoSun I have is fantastic. Paid $40 for D2 blade, over-travel stop, hardened lock bar insert, titanium scales and ceramic bearings. The thing has very smooth deployment and drops shut.

That's a $35 knife. AT MOST!!!! come on civivi $70 for D2.
I think it's because it's an Isham design. Seems like Civivi's are always a little higher price than I would expect, but yeah it's hard for me to justify the price too. They do seem like quality knives though.
The fit an finish is outstanding, the action is superb, hardware is really good quality. So it is justified in my opinion and a well done D2 will perform flawlessly in an EDC role. Even a well done 14C28N, D2, M690 will not perform all too different from a S35VN. Just test for yourself.I mean look at this test, even 8Cr13Mov does hold up really well th-cam.com/video/E3OSGl1I8go/w-d-xo.html . For the most part steel is more about prestige than performance.

Okay you guys know I Love watching Birdshot iv and I am bad to Bird about ordering knives they come and I am like wow thats a small knife. It took me 3 times to get through this video not cause of you guys cause of the knife I HATE it. I loved the first Civivis that came out for 42 dollars Great Knives. Now they have been doing the Ishams and Jacking the price way up cause his name is on it not because they used better materials buy any means. I don't understand why companies do crap like this the Backlash was so popular they couldn't even keep it in stock cause it was a good knife at a awesome price point. 100 percent in my opinion this knife is not.
