A goal of A.R.M.Y, BTS's fandom, is to try to give western people more exposure to Asian culture and pop culture, in efforts to try and end some prejudices towards Asians. We would like them to see that just because it's in a language you don't know or it's just plain different, doesn't make it bad or weird. What A.R.M.Y is asking for is that BTS is given a chance to be exposed to western people and shown as a performance at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. They never won on any music shows until 2015 which is only 2 years before. During I Need U era, it took more days just to get to 1million, but look at them now, breaking records from left to right. After reading a comment, I was able to accept that BTS has no competition. We tend to compare them to other big groups (such as EXO, TWICE, and other groups that come from the top 3 companies), and seem to get a bit upset when we don't quite reach the same number of views, awards, etc... (Such as our friends TWICE, who reached 100M in a heartbeat, good for them!), However, we often seem to overlook one important fact when getting upset, and that is We ARE at that level where we CAN compare to the biggest groups in Kpop. Isnt that amazing? 7 boys that no one knew, rising even with their circumstances, 7 boys who were expected to flop for their lack of a good company background...And yet here they are, charting all over the world, selling out concerts, competing with the group I personally recognize as the best of the best in ASIA (EXO, my bias group) for popularity. These kids were born singers, I am a born ARMY, and even when their fame dwindles into nothing (as all flowers wither) I will stand beside them and continue to root for my boys. Our boys have NO competition, so for us to compare them with other groups is to lower their own standards, as they have grown through their own talent and not through connections and company names. I hope we can continue to be the best Fandom out there and hope others can slowly realize that we truly are the real ones. BTS is one of the hottest names in K-Pop. They are the global phenomenon thats shaking up K-Pop more than any ever thought they would. They are a South Korean boy pop group, consisting of 7 members, debuting in 2013 from a small company, BigHit Entertainment, that was very unknown, they have made a huge name for themselves and their company. BTS isn't just any typical K-Pop group, they're extremely special and unique, unlike and other group out there. They have some of the hardest choreographies in all of K-Pop and they are self-producing aritsts, creating almost all of their beats by themselves, writing lyrics and raps, also by themselves. That is not very common in Korean Pop culture, most groups just have producers create all of their music. Always going out of the norm, BTS write meaningful songs that are relatable for many people, no matter what age you are. BTS have touched upon a great amount of their struggles, including major topics such as depression and sucidal thoughts, which are very taboo in Korea.
In late 2016, BTS realeased their second full-length studio album, WINGS. This album was a huge success, breaking so many records in the K-Pop scene. Some of the records being Billboard records. Wings is the highest charting kpop album on Billboard 200 charting at #26 up 35 places from the previous record for their other album, the Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever. BTS is also the only Korean act to have charted on the billboard 200 3 times. BTS has a lot more accomplishments, that's just the beginning of how much they've achieved in such a short time.
Many Americans, or just western people in general, look down on K-Pop for reasons unknown. Most assume that its prejudice towards Asians, being that there is are very strong stereotypes towards them. A goal of A.R.M.Y, BTS's fandom, is to try to give western people more exposure to Asian culture and pop culture, in efforts to try and end some prejudices towards Asians. We would like them to see that just because it's in a language you don't know or it's just plain different, doesn't make it bad or weird.
What A.R.M.Y is asking for is that BTS is given a chance to be exposed to western people and shown as a performance at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. Billboard writes countless praise articles about BTS constantly, and they were given the title "Best K-Pop Album of 2016," up against a large number of other big names in K-Pop. We think it would be a huge opportunity, not only for BTS, but also for Billboard. BTS have one of the biggest fanbases in the world and its grower faster and faster every single day. We really hope to see these boys perform at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards.

My wonderful lovely FAM. If you are feeling discourage, remember that BTS popularity just began last year. Bts and BigHit were bankrupt before all of this happened, yet they never gave up. Bighit couldn't even afford actors during their run mv, they used their managers, and for the cars in the mv, it was also their managers. They never won on any music shows until 2015 which is only 2 years before. During I Need U era, it took more days just to get to 1million, but look at them now, breaking records from left to right. Remember that this is just the beginning and there are still more to come. BTS is still growing. ARMYs are growing too. Take a breath and relax. Don't overdo it. We are doing great. We are improving day by day. I love you all. Stay strong 💜

After reading a comment, I was able to accept that BTS has no competition. We tend to compare them to other big groups (such as EXO, TWICE, and other groups that come from the top 3 companies), and seem to get a bit upset when we don't quite reach the same number of views, awards, etc... (Such as our friends TWICE, who reached 100M in a heartbeat, good for them!), However, we often seem to overlook one important fact when getting upset, and that is We ARE at that level where we CAN compare to the biggest groups in Kpop. Isnt that amazing? 7 boys that no one knew, rising even with their circumstances, 7 boys who were expected to flop for their lack of a good company background...And yet here they are, charting all over the world, selling out concerts, competing with the group I personally recognize as the best of the best in ASIA (EXO, my bias group) for popularity. These kids were born singers, I am a born ARMY, and even when their fame dwindles into nothing (as all flowers wither) I will stand beside them and continue to root for my boys. Our boys have NO competition, so for us to compare them with other groups is to lower their own standards, as they have grown through their own talent and not through connections and company names. I hope we can continue to be the best Fandom out there and hope others can slowly realize that we truly are the real ones. Anyone who took time to read this long AH post, thanks fam, you loyal, you smart, you a real one. Strong power thank you.
