- Yvette Young returned to the shop to perform a song she wrote for the Mako Series M1 High-Fidelity Modulation Machine. All of the modulation magic awaits!
The M1 is a powerful multi-function modulation machine with six customized, studio-quality programs: Chorus, Phaser, Tremolo, Vibrato, Rotary, and Filter. Each program has a wealth of options to tune, tweak, customize and then save to one of nine onboard presets. A sound explorers delight, the M1 features a dedicated lo-fi knob allowing you to mix various lo-fi parameters to every program. Add subtle movement and texture to float under your playing or make a massive statement with a thick swirling chorus to choppy panning tremolo. This moves me beyond words. Takes me back to when music is pure joy and the instrument becomes a part of your expression. Plus THAT mix, think lush bass and tight groove and the beautiful stereo feel on this track. Just wow.

This is what I mean Walrus Audio excels in clean effects. Not in overdrives or fuzzes. This whole M series is definitely going to give Strymon some competition. Is as good or better than Strymon.
I have been waiting for this pedal since the Mako series started and I couldn't be more dissapointed. No Flanger. No filter. For the ridiculous price tag there are a lot more versatile options.

The last category on the dial is Filter. I wonder if a Flanger setting can be achieved in the Chorus section (or after a firmware update).
I am having issues getting my pedal to work. I have a 1 spot pro power supply with the appropriate mA. My pedal lights up but does not make any sound. I am a bit stumped because I feel like I am doing the right things. Any advice?

Walrus Audio has some of the best marketing I’ve seen. Accidentally found them mid 2021 when I was looking for a new chorus pedal (ended up buying the Julianna). I have since bough more and have 5 of their pedals on my board. The soft/quiet click footswitch, the tone, construction have made Walrus Audio my favorite pedal company.
I would be perfectly happy if Yvette was used to demonstrate every single new non-dirt pedal by every single pedal maker moving forward. Well done. This pedal is super appealing.

This was definitely a tasty jam, really like the route of featuring great musicians to fully express some of your pedals in a full jam session setting. I don't usually complement advertising but you're doing something right lolol. Also Yvette is amazing!

What’s used to get that repeating loop sound starting at 0:19 ?! It sounds like it’s frozen. I love it
I have this pedal for some time now and it is just simply amazing especially in stereo. But what I did laat week blew my mind, I put it to vibrato setting and connected the mono out to a Lillian Phaser and then out to the left in of the UA dream 65 and the stereo out of the Julliana to the right in on the UA Dream 65. I never ever have heard a more prettier sound.

I just cant decide if I should get the M1 or the GFI Synesthesia. The Synesthesia allows 2 different effects to be used at once, and it’s got a display. But the M1 seems so sound more real. Less digital sounding
Love her playing, but the pedals sound super cheesy and digital, and I never really cared about analog v digital.. but this definitely has a chincy "digitized" sound to it.
Does it send power through MIDI (for example to power the Tech21 Midi Mouse)?

Walrus never fails to amaze me as well as Yvette Young. This is the greatest demo of a pedal that I have heard. One day I'm going to buy all your pedals even if I'm not that good Hahaha!

Just a heads up: the YY20 is her signature Talman with tele pickups. Pretty sure the guitar she plays in this video is a (sadly now discontinued) Talman Prestige
