Your older videos where you just turned on the camera and showed what you were knitting in your studio were so inspiring to me in the beginning of my sock knitting journey! I think we all forget that this hobby is supposed to be fun!! And the internet also sucks! You do you sister!!! 😁
Happy to see you back! It’s so easy to feel like we should commodify our hobby, but that almost always makes our hobby…not fun. Once you have to make the thing that you use for enjoyment and relaxation into the thing that needs to pay your rent and your bills it adds so much pressure and removes all the relaxation aspect. Some are able to do it successfully, but I think that for most it’s very much a side gig and in that respect it becomes not worth the stress. Better to keep it just as a fun outlet, vlog/podcast when you feel like it rather than on a schedule, and keep it simple to maintain the joy.
Thinking about your crazy color knits, something cool I saw was Oshen Knits (I believe), using fun yarns and then overdying things black so it’s more wearable !!!!
Glad to see you back ! I'm planning on knitting the Very Varied Vest by Lydia Morrow, she's a really great designer, and I can't wait to try intarsia for the first time ! I also want to make her Hardly Harness because it is a quick project. The patterns and sweaters on your queue all looks very beautiful !!
Great to see you again! Your WIPs are amazing and I look forward to seeing them on you, I reckon that fisherman’s rib will block out beautifully. I just finished knitting the Daisy top by Debi Maige and it had so many ‘first time’ elements in it for me as I am new to knitting. I’m so pleased with how it turned out and impressed with myself. I’m also crocheting a bunch of sunburst squares in Patons Sierra yarn for a blanket that will be quite hippy colourful when it’s done.
Okamoto is so great -- I want to do the Bright sweater in a chunky yarn like the one you're showing. Her Papa sweater inspired me to do an oversized piece with my own drawing knit in. So tired of watching TH-camrs gasp about another top-down raglan with another Italian tubular bind-off -- so predictably predictable.
You might want to check out the Fortuna’s Wheel Trousers and Sweater pattern !!! Neutral colors but still kind of wild Edit: omg it’s already on your list !!!!
