“Je suis Malade”, now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973. This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …). When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and composed the music in a couple of hours. The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes. Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad. But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s. At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during his own Paris concert in January 1995. It was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone. Lara also had made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara became good friends and performed several other duets later on. The 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal) th-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/w-d-xo.html is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries. The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella. 👉 Lara Fabian, *1970, is a world famous Belgian-Canadian singer, songwriter, musician, actress and producer. She is Belgian but also has Italian roots (her mother is from Sicily). She grew up in both countries and therefore speaks both French and Italian as her mother tongue. She was classically trained in singing, piano and song composition for 10 years (from 8 to 18) at the Brussels Royal Conservatory. To this day she has singing lessons and trains several times a week. She started her career in Canada in the early 1990s. She now lives in Montreal and also has Canadian citizenship. She is fluent in 4 languages (French, Italian, English, Spanish) and has sung in a total of 12 languages. She has sold over 20 million records worldwide as of September 2017 and is one of the best-selling Belgian artists of all time. In 2000, Lara launched her triumphal procession in the US, but a falling out with Sony over her artistic direction and the will of Celine Dion's management to block her path to the US thwarted that plan. She therefore focused on Europe again and had great success there, expanding her reach to Eastern Europe and Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her many years of collaboration with Igor Krutoy. She's also a star in Brazilia. Many of their songs are now classics and are covered by other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban... The US is now rediscovering her through her covers of Lara Fabian songs. She is Dimash's idol. He has covered many of her songs. She also wrote the lyrics to his song 'Your Love'. and they shared the stage and performed Ti Amo Cosi (composed by Igor Krutoy) along with Aida Garafulina: Ti Amo Cosi - th-cam.com/video/XaQFfqC3lnU/w-d-xo.html Lara is one of the best singers in the world, for me the most soulful singer! Wonderful reaction my friend Saeed!!...You must be proud that The Goddess Lara Fabian is from your same country...Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece of interpretation and a master class on how emotions should be transmitted on stage...Please don't stop at just this song by Lara...All her performances are from another world!!...A big hug my friend!!
Lara Fabian is masterclass and beyond. She is my NrONE female singer of all time. Her wonderful voice takes me to wonderland every time. I´m in a Lara Fabian loop from hell and i just love it. We want moore....much moore. Thank you. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.
One day this performance showed up on my feed, and out of curiosity, I clicked on it. From the first chill that I felt, I was completely hooked! I binge watched every video that I could find. She’s amazing. I wish my dad was alive so that I could introduce him to her. He was a high school choir teacher for thirty years. Please look at the songs Caruso, Adagio and Broken Vow. If you want to see her sensual side, watch Tango. I loved your reaction 😊
Have seen a few songs from her. She is absolutely amazing. I know she sings in English to. TX for the translation. Think I know 7/8 words in French. Her vocal range is astonishing. OK now I understand the pain emotions in her voice. Greetings from South Africa
Be prepared for a ton of suggestions, any song from his concert is great with Perdere l'amour, Caruso and You are not from here being some of my faves. Adagio also from this concert is a masterclass in breath and voice control in addition to highlighting her crystal clear belting ability. Concerts from 10 years later are also amazing as well as her current music. She truly is the greatest female voice and an incredible performer! Thank you for your reaction video.
How lovely that you discovering Lara Fabian - she is incredible! I also found her by way of Dimash and I am so grateful to have found her. Lara is magnificent and criminally not as known as she should be.
From Lara with love is the best music special you've never seen, until now! You will now receive requests, paid requests and pleadings to cover most of the songs from the special...and you will be further awe struck, although this is the best. Yes, she did work with Dimash and a female opera singer named Aida in Te Amo Cosi, also there is a side by side of the two of them performing Mademoiselle Hyde, by Igor Krutoy. Igor has both of them under his very skilled wing.
She's an insane singer. Like how on earth........ There;s gorgeous song she sings called, You Are Not From Here, and I was like no no, HYOU are not from here. How on EARTH does anyone sing this way?!?!?!
omg, you've found LARA! Her voice is just gorgeous! Another rabbit hole.... She is mesmerizing. To me, the art of performance can't ever be completely separated from the art of the music, and she is a master.
Don't miss this performance. th-cam.com/video/IYnFwUbC9A8/w-d-xo.html It's not only the song, but the performance. I'm in my 70's, and I've never seen anything like it in my life. She is loved. @@SaeedReacts.
I love watching people react to Lara, especially for the very first time. I can tell quite a bit about a person by watching these videos! Some people listen to her with their ears only which is pleasant enough, but others listen also with their souls. Lara is one of those rare artists who performs from her soul to ours. Those breaths you commented on are one of the amazing tools she uses to accentuate every emotion and for me,it reawakens many feelings I had tucked away from my 70 years on Earth! Dimash does this to me,also! I truly enjoyed your reaction, because I could see on your face…the “Lara effect”…another soul touched by this amazingly beautiful woman!❤️❤️
So, much information being thrown at you, I will ask a question that within the lyrics are hidden clues to the answer. Whom do you believe Lara lose? At least, “according to Barbara Streisand”, it is where Lara sing’s emoting this to her audience. Barbara said, “That is deep”. Let me know or ask whom Lara lose? Spread ❤️& ✌🏼 Timothy a Florida State University Seminole .
@tradde11 - It's definitely a toxic relationship with a lover. The reference to her mother refers to having been neglected by her at a young age and the abandonment by her lover reminds her of that feeling as a child.
@tradde11 , Since Lara did not write the song, I understand how some could think differently. But, for the pain Lara sings about touches her profoundly. I am paraphrasing a little: “Like an Orphan your leaving, you left me alone I am sick! No one knows where you’ve gone! Everywhere I go, I look, I see you. Your love is killing me. I will die alone. Like a stupid kid I sit by my radio. I am sick! Like when my mother leaving me alone, to go out for the evening. I am sick, that is it! You have deprived me of all my songs, all my words. You have drained my heart, is completely sick, perfectly sick! Barricades surround, Do you hear? I am sick!! She lost “Lu Lu” aka her “Mommy”. I am from the South so I call my Mother “Momma”.
Great reaction to such an incredible performance! My favourite female singer! I recommend the following songs to react to You're not from here, Broken Vow, Caruso, Adagio and Perdere l'amore. They are amazing like all her songs! Greetings from London 😀
Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Morissette Amon, Cakra Khan, Gabriel Henrique, Floor Jansen, Gihi de Lana, … all covered songs from Lara. So did Barbra Streisand and Josh Groban. Lara even wrote a song for Dimash (Your Love). She is a legend in many many countries and was supposed to be a guest at the Voice Belgium last week-end but had a small accident and could not travel for 48 hours.
One of the best interpret of all time. When a singer has a crazy range like this usually it's very distracting from the text/meaning of a song, but with her not at all. Her voice (her whole body actually) is only here to tell the story.
Hey Saeed thank you so much for reacting to Lara she is an amazing artist whose music and vocals have withstood the test of time so welcome to the Lara Rabbit hole❤.Thanks appreciate you brother.
👍👍Indeed this song is powerful. It is the joint work of a woman, Alice Dona, a French composer who created the melody and Serge Lama, a French singer, who wrote the lyrics and who sang it in 1973. The story in this song is quite autobiographical. Its purpose is not to raise morale, but to describe and express the pangs of lovesickness. This song was and continues to be a great success. Serge Lama is powerful when he sings this song but I recognize that Lara Fabian brings a higher melodramatic dimension through the quality of his voice and the quality of his interpretation. You will notice that the pianist who accompanies Lara Fabian here is Igor Krutoy, a great friend and admirer of the singer, but he is also the one who, much later, will discover Dimash and will want to compose songs for him or accompany him in covers of which he is the composer. Their association, which will last approximately 2 years, will allow Dimash, after its immense success in China, to extend its notoriety in Russia and Eastern European countries, and to gain power by creating its own production . Greetings from France
The most perfect delivery of a song done on stage, live! Voice. Performance. The entire package. She was completed into the song from before she even started singing up to the very end of the video (which you, the reactor, cut short) because it took her quite a while recompose herself and to become aware of her audience. She was transfered into the world of the story through this whole performance Thank you for your reaction. Hopefully this has turned your attention to really great artist. It is sad that reporters of "world media" and of world news program have no interest in people like Lara, Dimash, and a others. What we see in the case of these two is that their fans seem to be working the way forward, getting the world to take note...the kind of support they desperately need I dare say.
Gracias!

Great reaction! 😊 You need to watch another bit longer version from this same song and show. It continues after she stop singing and you can see how deep she is still in songs emotions
Thank you for reacting to one of the greatest artists out there. Lara is a world class performer and i'm not surprised that she is Dimash's idol. The way she gets into character, tells the story and conveys emotion is just phenomenal. Speaks 4 languages ( French, English, Italian and Spanish) also convertional in russian and portugese , sings in 12 , wrote 90% of the songs on her 16 albums ( 3 in english) more than 30 millions albums sold and at age 54 still the # 1 voice and more gorgeous than ever . She just started a new world tour in 2024 and i have my tickets for the 2 shows in Montréal in june 2024...
That last note is 17 seconds but you needed the version with the extra 15 seconds where you see how long it takes her to recover from the emotiins of it!
So, it's like in Switzerland we don't know artists from another linguistic region of the same country well. Lara sings in each different language as if it were her own. She has just released a new single, “Ta peine”.
My favorite vocalist of all time. So happy you reacted to her. If you had watched through the very end of the video, you would have seen how she did not snap out of the performance for a full minute. This whole classic concert - "From Lara With Love" - is a vocal master class. Please pick some more songs from here, like "Caruso", "Broken Vow", "Adagio" and "Perdere L'amore". There is a reason she is Dimash's idol.
The story of the song: French author and performer Serge Lama was deeply married when he fell in love with Mademoiselle Michel Annie Potier. Serge, in love, began secretly dating his beloved. Forced to hide and live in constant lies, Serge Lama poured out all his feelings in "Je suis malade". Delilah heard this song on TV once. "Je suis malade", riddled with pain and despair, was close and understandable to the singer. Delilah decided that she just had to sing it! After all, Dalida's own life was full of bitterness and loss. The piece was incredibly suitable for the singer. Delilah recorded her version of the song in 1973. At the age of 54, the singer, having swallowed pills, fell asleep forever. In this regard, her version of "Je suis malade" sounded even more tragic… In 1994, the song got another revival. Lara Fabian recorded "Je suis malade" for her album "Capre Diem".
Is it possible to ignore such a reaction to this song performed by Lara Fabian, which can melt any heart with its emotional message? I subscribe to your channel!!!

She is the real beast live. Her performances from the same concert as this song are insane!

Lara is one of my favourite female singers. She actually sang in the 1988 Eurovision the year a lady by the name of Celine Dion won. Lara is phenomenal, plus she’s good looking to lol. Check her out performing “Caruso” a song in Italian
This was amazing. Will check out more.
Omg, I can’t believe you did a reaction to another favourite artist of mine😍
I fell in love with Lara when she released “I will love again” in 1999
I of course bought the cd single👍
She has the most beautiful warm voice, and is such an amazing storyteller.
Even her breaths are beautiful❤️
She has so many great songs it’s hard to pick, but some of my favourites are:
“Perdere L’amore”

She also wrote the lyrics to his song 'Your Love'. and they shared the stage and performed Ti Amo Cosi (composed by Igor Krutoy) along with Aida Garafulina: Ti Amo Cosi - th-cam.com/video/XaQFfqC3lnU/w-d-xo.html
Lara is one of the best singers in the world, for me the most soulful singer!

One of the best live performances by any artist ever. Just incredible. Such a shame that Belgium doesn’t give her as much credit as she deserves.
I agree with all point. I will do my small part in spreading the love for her music.
Thank you so much! Very proud! Excited to discover more. Have a wonderful day, my friend.
Thank's for your and Thank's for Lara ... ❤❤❤🫂🫂🫂
Just so good. Thank you for sharing this story. Will explore more. Have a great day
AMAZING!!!!!! 🤩
She is one of my all time favorite female singers, she’s very talented, great vocals and performs with so much emotion
Have seen a few songs from her. She is absolutely amazing. I know she sings in English to. TX for the translation. Think I know 7/8 words in French.
Her vocal range is astonishing.
OK now I understand the pain emotions in her voice.
Greetings from South Africa
Amazing voice and performance. Will definitely explore more.
Looking forward to more! This performance was so good.
She's the Queen!
How lovely that you discovering Lara Fabian - she is incredible! I also found her by way of Dimash and I am so grateful to have found her. Lara is magnificent and criminally not as known as she should be.
Amazing performance. Excited for more.
more Lara!!!
She is an amazing singer.

Amazing artist!
omg, you've found LARA! Her voice is just gorgeous! Another rabbit hole.... She is mesmerizing. To me, the art of performance can't ever be completely separated from the art of the music, and she is a master.
Amazing! Will explore more!
Those breaths were filled with emotion. Amazing. Thank you so much for watching and have a wonderful day.
Love Lara ❤
Love from Denmark ❤
SHE IS ONE OF A KIND!!!
Thanks so much for watching.
Please, please take a look to her unbelievable Performance of Yentl, outstanding! And Caruso....
The best ever!
The Queen, long may she reign.
Great reaction to such an incredible performance! My favourite female singer! I recommend the following songs to react to
You're not from here, Broken Vow, Caruso, Adagio and Perdere l'amore. They are amazing like all her songs!

Thank you for the recommendations. Definitely want to hear many more.
Thank you for your heart felt reaction! Lara is absolute perfection❤
She is the best singer on Planet Earth. ❤ Great reaction - thanks!!!
Amazing! Thanks for watching.
Amazing and intensive voice, so expressive: one of the best version of this song. 👏
Atemporal actuación! Lara grande! Gracias 🎻🎷🎺🇪🇸
Thank you so much for the support and introducing me to this incredible artist. Have a wonderful day, Donald.

@@SaeedReacts. Ok
Will definitely get to that one! Bonne week-end à vous.
Love her❤🇨🇼🇨🇼🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱
The most perfect delivery of a song done on stage, live! Voice. Performance. The entire package. She was completed into the song from before she even started singing up to the very end of the video (which you, the reactor, cut short) because it took her quite a while recompose herself and to become aware of her audience. She was transfered into the world of the story through this whole performance
Thank you for your reaction.
Amazing performance. So impressed by each performance i saw so far. Just incredible. Thanks for watching.
Queen 👸🏼 ❤❤❤

She just started a new world tour in 2024 and i have my tickets for the 2 shows in Montréal in june 2024...

Lara's Caruso, from the same concert.
That last note is 17 seconds but you needed the version with the extra 15 seconds where you see how long it takes her to recover from the emotiins of it!
I did not know about that other version 😞

In this regard, her version of "Je suis malade" sounded even more tragic…
In 1994, the song got another revival. Lara Fabian recorded "Je suis malade" for her album "Capre Diem".
Thank you for sharing
She is Canadian!
Thanks you for your analyse.

Hello fellow belgian me to I am from belgium the flemish speaking part. I have to say that I am ashamed to never have heard of lara before hearing her connection to Dimash. Will look that one up. Thanks.
the thing is, with this lirics, it's not a lost relationship, it's an ongoing relationship but the love is gone.
The video you reacted to cut the best part, where Lara ends the song. Receiving several applauses, however, she continues with her head bowed, as if she were feeling the weight of the song's lyrics.
You can see this ending in other videos.
