it's super fun to see your french getting better and better. For me, your journey through the french language is forever interwined with my learning of harmony/Messiaen, heheh (thanks for the videos!)

    Hi Andrew,
I appreciate your videos on Olivier Messiaen-they’ve really helped me dive deeper into his music and philosophical vision. I've recently become a big fan of his work, and I'm particularly interested in trying to play using his modes.
Could I ask you to take a look at my thread on the REAPER DAW Cockos forum titled "Olivier Messiaen Modes of Limited Transposition in REAPER?" I'm having trouble understanding how Messiaen's seven modes match up with the ZD-Ultimate.reascale (a comprehensive list of scales, including those attributed to Messiaen). I'm especially struggling to see how these scales correspond to the seven modes and their equivalent transpositions.
You've made some great videos about modes in the past, but I think this topic could benefit from further exploration on your channel. Just a suggestion!
Thanks again for all your insightful content.
    Best,
    giorgio

Thanks very much for the thoughtful comment. I will look at that thread…I’m not familiar with the REAPER functionality but look forward to making a study of it.

@@andrewkaiser Oh, REAPER is a famous DAW. It has a MIDI editor with a "key snap" feature where you can "snap" notes to fit a certain scale (like a whole tone scale). People have coded Messiaen's scales in that format. You can check out the forum thread for more details if you're interested. Maybe you're not too keen on diving into harmonic implementations on a computer, but either way, I want to thank you again for your channel!
