  • Kapetanovo jezero (Captain's Lake) is located in the heart of Moračke planine in central Montenegro. The lake (also called Trebješko jezero) is home to traditional mountain pastures and locals produce delicious lisnati sir (layered cheese).
I visited the lake with two of my friends (links to their websites below) in summer. We spent there three days, hiking in the area, mingling with locals and doing photography.
Here is my blog post from this trip with more photos and stories.

I was accompanied by two pro photographers from Slovenia,
    Jošt Gantar | jostgantar.com/ | / jostgantar
    Jaka Ivančič | www.jakaivanci... | / jaka_ivancic
Check their websites and IG, really inspirational accounts!
Also a big thank you to Nebojša Atanacković, a photographer and explorer from Belgrade for inspiration and helpful tips. Check out his blog - it is a wealth of great photos and itineraries of the nature of Balkans!

@@LukaEsenko Yes I know. I've researched and written about it several times for a client but never been there.

Beautiful video and pics and an amazing country! We were traveling and photographing there almost at the same time as you - your Kodiaq however seems to have done better than ours 😅

Luka You show the guy aiming at the flowers with a clearly labeled canon camera and then a picture taken with Nikon. A bit of a disjunction for the viewer.

Ha ha Thomas, well spotted! It is hard to film and make photography at the same time. This is why I used Jaka to showcase how the photo was made...
