  • The second largest island of the Mediterranean managed to keep some of its natural, untouched beauty, which is more and more rare in modern Europe. Large herds of goat and sheep are grazing on the scarcely inhabited Campidoro plain. Here thearchaic patoral culture still lives on. In the Giara di Gesturi National Park a stud of 1500 horses lives completely free. There are almost 8 thousand ‘nurages’, ancient megalithic stone buildings built around 2000 BC. The black diorite, polished by the sea and the wind and the grey granite rocks stand out ouf the blue sea. The island is covered with macchia, a fragrant bush, between them there is myrtle, thyme, rosemary and lavender. The landscape is full of olive trees, cork, almond trees and grape. The narrow alleys of the old towns are edged by Sardinian and Toscan style buildings. If we add to this the beautiful stalactite caves, the monuments of Cagliari, the wild coast of Costa Smeralda, and the magnificent beaches, we can say that Sardinia is the nature lovers’ paradise and a place for an idillic vacation.

I can't believe people are saying that this doesn't cover the natural beauty. I really want to visit Sardinia one day. I love the part about Giara di Gesturi the most. Those horses playing in the basaltic forest is so beautiful. Such beautiful nature scenes. Heaven on earth and Sardinia is a blue zone which means people live longer there. Why hurry to heaven when you're already in it?

what is a "basaltic forest"? Basalt is the rock which composes the plateau where the forests and the horses live

this video doesn't really show the real colours and beauty of the island Sardinia. so please just google it #Sardinia beach, #Sardinia Architecture, #Sardinia traditional food in order to get a better idea of this amazing island. My island.
    cheers

A lot of times google enhances the pictures with filters I think this video did an amazing job showing the outskirts and villages aswell. I’ve been to Sardinia and the beaches are incredibly beautiful but no where near how some google images are portrayed. We have some pretty bizarre filters now a days.

Nice photography and interesting info, but terrible mismatch between audio and video. Were the vidographers and script writers on different planets for the compilation of this video?

David Arca...yep, for example Cagliari because the "gli" sound doesn't exist in English but the one that made me lough is the name of Vernaccia wine: Vernakkia ah, ah, ah in deeds it sound like "Vernacheea".
