Risa actually means big or huge and hraun means lava or like the hard rock like tings that form when lava hardens. And the 'Rjómasúkkulaði' is just chocolate but you can get a bunch of stuff in them like raisens or nuts. The red candy dosent really have a special flavour its kind of just like its own little thing. Orka means energy soooo yeah (And the koffin was supposed to be coffen (The thing thats in Coffie)) . Stórt means big and its called Big Æði because usually the Æði are just little pieces. Im sorry for any misspellings im Icelandic as you can probably tell. But if you have any more questions please ask away :)

    @missymills8705 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Oh my gosh Tammy. Hahaha! I laughed so hard. This taste test was brilliant.
And yes, I am Icelandic so it was even more hilarious to hear you try, pronounce the words and the names of the candy.
First off - "Risa" - does not mean rice - but giant. Giant hraun. Haha. But we do love chocolate with both rice, wafers and liquorice. And you did get all of the good stuff.
"Orka" is an energy-drink (Orka actually means: Energy. Haha) And the K-word you were struggeling with - it means Caffein. So no wonder you got all high on energy.
The "Rjómasúkkulaði" - is real icelandic MilkCream-chocolate - and yes, it is THE best chocolate in the worlds of chocolate. I LOVE our chocolate on iceland.
You should really try more, you will be surprised how good EVERYTHING is on Iceland - even the baked-goods. Yumm. (I actually got that hungry for the candy, I am sitting eating Icelandic chocolate right now.... )
Thank you for doing this taste test, it really made my day. Haha! Looking forward for more!
Take care - Amanda Millý Sigurðardóttir ;-)

***** Hi Milly, Thank you so much for your comment really helpful : ) I loved trying all of these Icelandic treats so much. Risa means giant LOL wow I got that so wrong. I thought Koffin might have been some substance I had not stumbled across before I should have been able to guess that. I hope I will be able to get some more Icelandic things to try in the future. Love from Australia

You think of Australia as being small??
'Risa' means Huge, rice is 'hrísgrjón'. And hraun means lava.
The chocolate in the milk chocolate bar, Sirius rjómasúkkulaði, is the same chocolate that is in almost all our easter eggs.
The liquorice in Bingó Lakkrískúlur is the only kind of liquorice I like. It's kind of like liquorice caramel. We have a lollypop with a similar liquorice called Toffí sleikjó. Also don't blame yourself over tearing the packaging so much. It's almost impossible to open them well.

    Orka
Last but not least, there’s Orka, probably one of the unhealthiest soft drinks you can find in Iceland. It’s a mix of ginseng, guarana, caffeine, and sugar, and tastes a bit like Mountain Dew.
Koffin is means Caffeine in Icelantic.
    Thought you want to know.
Happy New Year Tam and Tim. 2020

Yes Tam that is an energy drink. Orka means energy and that's why they call it Orka. Anytime there is Gensing and Taurine in a drink it's a safe bet to say it's an energy drink. Why does everywhere in the world always have such good looking licorice treats? I'm so jealous because licorice is one of my absolute favorite candies. We have licorice in the states, but never like the ones your always trying. Great video as always.

imperceptibleme Hi Melissa, Yes agree licorice must be really popular in Iceland. I wish I could speak another language but seems most days I struggle with English haha could be because I'm dyslexic. Sugar and Far out are usually replacing other words that might slip out haha I'm always trying to to swear at work and in my videos. Hugs

That chocolate bar with the licorice on it should have pieces of licorice instead of one continuous strip... The difference in hardness of the two things makes eating it look a bit awkward...
