AFROBEATS ORIGINATED FROM NIGERIA, IT BELONGS TO NIGERIA, PERIOD. The words used within the songs are Nigerian pidgin English Language and Nigerian Native Languages.
FACTS 💯🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
YES! God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬
Correct just like Amapiano belomg to SA and no one else. Luckily for Afrobeats no South African goes around the world claiming it or claim to have made it famous. We are not that kind of people and thanksTyla for axknowledging that she is not Afrobeats.
Who made Amapiano popular?
@@donaldsymmons The people who listen to them.
Tyla is not deserving of all that awards; she is not an afrobeat artiste.. Tyla should be placed in one of these american categories (rnb/pop) if they do, these americans will not give her awards intended for americans, so why are they giving her afrobeat awards intended for Nigerian artistes? Tyla does not deserve these afrobeat accolades..
Nigerians are delusional. The Category was named out of ignorance. Its an all inclusive African Music Category. Its not an Afrobeat Award reserved for Nigerians. Saying Tyla doesn't deserve it is ignorant and Misleading. You guys are just upset she is crushing yall at every Award shows.
AFROBEAT ORIGINATED IN NIGERIA, SUNG BY NIGERIANS AND SPREAD AROUND THE WORLD BY NIGERIANS.
Burna Boy called his own kind of music afro fusion when he knows another country are already trying to take credit and awards that belong to the original afrobeats artists which are Nigerians. There was a time Ghana was also thinking they owned Afrobeat at a point, so this whole misconception about Afrobeat and the artists that work so hard to bring Afrobeat to the limelight which are purely Nigerian artists, brought about the reason while many afribeats artists decided to give their music genres name. Wiskid, Davido, Burna Boy, fire boy, Rema, tems, asake, Tiwa savage, omaley, kizz Daniel, ayra Star, Teniola, Olamide, NINIOLA, Joe boy, rugar, etc. Are all Nigerian. Because someone endorsed and used Afrobeats style doesn't make them an Afrobeat artist, unless the person decided and choose to represent the genre and carry Nigerian culture along with him or her in his or her musical journey.
God bless Nigeria and Nigerians worldwide 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
Afrojuju and Afrobeat Nigeria period 🎉🎉🎉
The late Chief Priest Anikulapo Fela Kuti's genre was Afrobeat. The likes of Wiz kid, Davido etc are about Afrobeats.
Ayra Starr recently said she's heard Koreans coming up with their version of Afrobeats.
We the Nigerian people will never allow non-afrobeats music in our genre. Every time it's appropriated, you will hear from us.
Ghana makes afrobeats as well. we allow it. Chris brown makes afrobeats, we allow it.
We do not allow Tyla an amapiano artist take an award in our genre. its ridiculous.
I foresee the title being changed into MVA Afromusic Award in the near future.
The thing with allowing people to be recognized as an Afrobeats artists is if you don’t speak a native Nigerian language or speak Nigerian pidigin it’s just different. There’s a reason why non Yoruba people are using Yoruba when they make afrobeats. South Africans don’t have pidgin and their languages are rhythmically diff from Nigerian. Ghanian artists are labeled as Afrobeats bc they speak pidgin.
It's not a pidgin thing uncle calm down, the difference is in the sound
God bless the Land of Nigeria and Nigerians worldwide 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We remember what happened to Lil Nas X when he originally came out as a COUNTRY Artist... The "real" country artists came out with a fury, forcing the label to re-change the genre. Afrobeats aka African Music is very early in terms of the explosion and popularity. Same thing happened to "Reggaeton" and other categories. Either way, it's good that Blacks in America are able to respectfully have these discussions and understandings
Afrobeat is not Aka African music,.. there's no genre as African music...
Afrobeat is Nigerian simple
The thing is not which country does Afrobeats or not, but it actually the fact that Artist that don't identify themselves with Afrobeats Culture are being giving the awards and using it to rep their own music genre... If tyler identifies as an Afrobeats artist then she would have been fine...
her music is registered under afrobeats they are just mad she is winning.

Nugget 7 is wrong! Fela was trying to unify Africa. that was the reason he called it Afrobeat.
@@zhuleiyamarfie3464It isn't their genre.
@@zhuleiyamarfie3464 I am trying to agree with you but please name at least 3 Ghanian afrobeat musician from 10 to 15 years ago, I want to Google and see what their music sounds like
Afrobeat is Nigerian
Highlife originated in Liberia/Sierra Leone
Today a west Africa genre
Non is Ghanaian, maybe hiplife!
Highlife originated in Ghana when it was called the gold coast. Sierra Leone called their music MARINGA music and Liberia called their palm wine music. And the name afrobeat was coined by a Ghanaian promoter called Mr Raymond aziz
Because you like to talk down Ghana I will provide more information on how Ghana and Ghanaians influenced Fela kuti. Fela kuti was given the name afrobeat by a Ghanaian promoter called Mr Raymond aziz according to Tony Allen, Fela kuti came to Ghana numerous occasions from 1967 to the 70s it was in 1967 where he was given the name Afrobeat in Ghana. Fela kuti had two Ghanaian wives along with his Nigerian wives. Fela kuti also had a Lebanese Ghanaian promoter called Faisal helwani who promoted him across west Africa for 32 years and according to him he was the chief mourner at Fela funeral. Fela kuti had a Ghanaian spiritual advisor called professor hindu who advised him on many things including his music career. Fela kuti said there are only two people he would follow wherever they go and that was kwame Nkrumah and his Mother. For fela to say he would only follow kwame Nkrumah wherever he goes that means he was so heavily influenced by him in fact Fela kuti even created his own political organisation called MOP which was based on the teachings of kwame Nkrumah like how bob Marley songs was based on Marcus Garvey and Selassie teachings. Fela kuti was also inspired by a Ghanaian musician called Guy warren. Fela kuti was in Ghana learning from other Ghanaians on how to come up with his music according to uncle Ben idonije who was the manager of Fela kuti he said Fela came to Ghana to start his highlife revival thing, he did not say he went to Nigeria to start it. You can hear Tony Allen the drummer and co founder of afrobeat along with Fela kuti, who Fela said without Tony Allen there would be no afrobeat. Also uncle Ben idonije you can listen to them both out of their own mouth say these things on afrobeats the backstory documentary on Netflix by Ayo Shonaiya.

You can use capital letters all you want but it will never make it right. That is why you never hear Liberians or sierra Leone saying they originated Highlife it's always some misguided Nigerians saying that. Most Nigerians know highlife originated in Ghana like the Elder Pete edochie
🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬 it's nigeria music period ✅
I have to say, you 2 are intelligent. Putting a thousands of sounds from a continent under one category as afrobeat is like no homework done. Peace.
It's a bit of a complex one to tackle because Nigeria has now adopted Amapiano into their music (and some even claim it as their own) so in a way we can't blame those outside of Africa getting the two confused. An example would be the song Tshwalabam which Burna Boy did an Afrobeats version of but still sounds very Amapiano. Also Davido's Unavailable which is Afrobeats features an Amapiano artist with Amapiano instrumentals.
Lastly, Tyla has featured in a few Afrobeats songs as a Pop-piano artist (the latest being One call with OmahLay), so this might be why we have been meshed into one.
I love your channel guys . Love from Nigeria 🇳🇬
I love how you explained everything without being bias
Are you now saying hip hop doesn't belong to America? Burna boy didnt create Afrobeat. However, Afrobeat started in Nigeria and belongs to Nigeria. There are other genres in Africa, even in nigeria.
Kru people, come defend una sef o. Ghanaians are claiming ownership of your Creation
😂😂😂
Ghanaians are not claiming palm wine music that is Liberia music. Highlife is Ghana music. That is why only some misguided Nigerians are the only ones saying highlife is from Liberia or sierra Leone but you have never seen Liberians or sierra leone people saying that, that's the reason for you telling them to defend themselves but they won't because highlife was never their music to defend.
You guys should react to shank comics video about driving fast cars in Abuja
They wanted to call it AfroMusic not Afrobeat, that category is for African not Nigeria
I think; an American Awards grouping all music coming from the continent as “Afro Beats” and giving them a single award is warranted because they don’t really have too - Surely all these genres have their own awards shows 🤷🏾♂️
As a Nigerian that I am I think people like burna boy, Tems n wizkid are the ones confusing people why would dey say they aren't afrobeat so how would an American be able to distinguish those that do afrobeat, so if the award given to Tyla was given to burna boy who was also in the award category would it be justified even when he said he doesn't do afrobeat?
Afroheat is originally from Ghana, Nigerians made it popular..
Cho cho cho oya Ghanaian show working i get am before no be property
I think in that vma panel there might have been a South African judge. That was a backhand slap to Nigeria regarding the noise they made about Amapiano and inviting Chidinma to participate in Miss universe Nigeria.
Nobody made noise about anything, quit making things up.

So are you telling me Ghana stole palm wine music and renamed it Highlife while Nigerians took the Ghanaian term highlife and called their Igbo highlife edo highlife. Highlife is not palm wine music.
Palm Wine music Style: It was played with simple instruments like acoustic guitars, often accompanied by percussion, and was performed at informal gatherings where people drank palm wine
Highlife Style: It incorporates more instruments, such as horns and electric guitars, and has a more complex, upbeat sound compared to palm-wine music. Highlife was originally associated with the elite and urban areas, hence the name "high life." From the country Gold coast.
