I read it 4 days ago. Still thinking every day about it, can't read anything else. I'm watching Manacled Tiktoks instead... I can't wait for her new book 2025... cause its the same but not.
Manacled was my first dramione fanfic and now i am way too deep down the rabbit hole. It was one of a kind, worth the read. My Top 3 Dramione are: Remain Nameless. Ten out of Ten. The Right and Wrong series. Enjoy
My first read was Isolation, followed by The Rights & Wrongs series. Anything I read ever since I keep comparing to the Auction Draco 🙈 I think I would‘ve enjoyed Manacled more if I hadn’t read them (and many other fics before). I kinda kept it because of the rave it got, but nothing tops the first reading experience I guess 😋
manacled didnt make me cry but it kept me glued to the book until i finished, i couldnt put it down. i still think about that last line because it was such a great way to finish up EDIT: could you read "draco malfoy and the mortifying ordeal of being in love" next if you feel like fanfic? its sooo different
Glad I'm not the only one! I was like crap I really am emotionless. That last line just has stuck with me and really made me think about how history is written and the stories we tell about it. I'm really curious I've never heard of this one! Downloading now :)
I've heard nothing but great things about Manacled but have found that I'm too much of a Drarry girlie to ever commit to reading it, but watching you read it in this vlog was a lot of fun! Also the panic on your face when you realized you didn't know if it was a HEA was such a Mood 😂 We've all been there lol Also, also It's not fanfiction but if you really liked that tension between the couple & the "how the fuck will these two end up in love" I HIGHLY recommend Captive Prince. It's like THE enemies to lovers romance in my opinion (and three book + a short story collection so enough to sink your teeth into)
It’s a haul that’s for sure. I knew I wouldn’t commit unless I made content about it 🤭 but now I’m back on my Bella/Alice BS 😅 Oh dang that sounds right up my alley!!! 💕
ATTENTION FOR SPOILERS My experience of reading Manacled was very similarly to yours! I completely and wholeheartedly agree that the book was too long. I disliked the repition of Hermione‘s panic attacks and her constantly reminding Draco that she would choose the Order over him, knowing how devalued/used she was by its members… The first part had me in a chokehold.. I read through the night, I couldnt put it down and I was wondering why Draco was so cruel to her (verbally). That said, I also liked the current timeline more, I didn’t care for the war strategies & missions so much, so I had to bite through a little. I didn’t cry through the entire book, except the last sentence. I was litterally sobbing, because I felt so much injustice. Overall, it is a masterpiece and I can’t wait for the published book to come out. It seems to be shorter and probably the story will be altered, so I can’t wait to read that one 😊 I loved hearing your opinions, most people are raving about Manacled like it’s the sole best fanfic but I think I have others that I would rather pick up for a second read (maybe also because of it’s lenght 😅) Also some recs: I loved the Auction and the two previous books from the series (it is a bit similar to Manacled but I loved the romance more) Secrets & Masks (also a dark fic, suuuuper long. I’m halfway through but it keeps my attention more than Manacled dis at that point)
That last sentence was absolutely gutting. Fitting for such a somber and tough read! I can’t wait to see what they do with the traditionally published version. Especially curious if they’ll trim it down in those flashback parts or if they’ll have it be more dual timeline. I’d love to get more in the modern timeline to balance out some of the flashback portions. I definitely need to read the Auction! I keep hearing such amazing things about it. Secrets and Mask I’ll definitely had to my TBR! 💜
I think they‘re both worth a read but I’m always cautious not to overhype people when giving recs because I oftentimes get high hopes and am disappointed a bit afterwards 😅😅
Welcome to the Manacled survivors club.
I mean I think we all deserve medals! I felt like it was increasing in length as I read it 😅

It really sticks with you. It took me awhile to read anything else 🫣 how can you after all that?😆
@@TheBookBaron I reread Harry Potter. That’s how I coped.

You’re a saint! Immediately adding all of them to my TBR 😍
Same, Manacled was my first and I’ve been reading HP fanfic since. I’m reading Remain Nameless now haha
Secrets and Masks is top tier as well

I would so love a series were you read the God-tier fics of different fandoms for different pairings that would be so cool!
Oh I love that idea!!! 😍

I like your break down of the internal thoughts coupled with the clinical feel of the handmaid’s tale elements❤.
Thank you 🥰 so hard to convey some of those tougher elements to the story!
I don't plan to read it but I have to say it was entertaining watching you during this testing experience 😝
I’m but a humble jester at your service 😋 glad you enjoyed the video 😆

I loved this book so much
I totally get why people rave about it now! 💜

@RockPaperStupify I know exactly how you feel 😅💜
I’m on chapter 3 or 4 already. I am shocked. I read a lot of fanfics with trigger warnings but this fanfic….I cant even. 😮
Oh it’s an intense one for sure!!!
I thought the flashback episodes could have been condensed.
Totally agree! I’m curious if the traditionally published version will cut that section down. 🤔
