Thank you so much for your kinds words. I'm just trying to have as much fun as possible! I so appreciate you guys and. that you are enjoying sharing my bonsai - it adds a whole new level of interest and fun to my projects. So, thanks to you!
I got a dirty dozen of mixed rough bark and cork bark cuttings. Simplicity will be nurtured from start as well as root flare. I think that is the biggest advantage to somewhat raw stock. Wait a bit but alot easier to manage design flaws.
Great plan Terry! Some of my most favorite trees are those that I started (not even that long ago) from twig-like cuttings. Best of luck with your trees!
Absolutely glacial by comparison, but they grow more compact and, as a plus, once you get them into the refinement stage they stay that way much more easily requiring less constant pruning. I am looking forward to getting one of mine to the initial "finished" stage where I wouldn't mind it no longer growing. I've never been much of a fan of variegated plants in general, but these look very natural that way and I really appreciate them. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Because they have less green pigment, they have a lower capacity to convert sunlight into energy via photosynthesis. So they're "inefficient" at getting sunlight
👏🏻

The variegated seems to grow much slower than the original
