I was in AZ and my girlfriend at the time sending phone pics or video thru to me. Was there video on phones at that time? .. They; she and a sizable group from IUP were up on Mt Washington "tailgating" too.
@jorgefigueroa4437 you just proved the point. It was the end of the Era of Three Rivers Stadium hosting the Pirates and Steelers, and the beginning of a new era where Heinz Field and PNC park each hosted their own team

Im curious how terrible the sight lines would be for an outdoor Pens game. At Heinz, 4 rows in up from the last row in section 515. Impossible to see puck. Also had a friend in the front row of the low level and he couldn’t see the players skates. This was 2017 vs Philthadelphia. I could only imagine how terrible it would be, it blew up 19 days before i was born.
i was there for a concert back in 1974 with zztop aerosmith and i think ufo. it was called the texas tour and there were cows there. it was a disaster. they were leaving people in with big coolers on their shoulders with glass in them. people were bleeding before the gates opened. once inside it took us 45 minutes to push our way to the stage and there were people , pucking and peeing and mud. and it was hot. they let too many people in. you could not navigate anywhere. so people started to climb the outside walls to get to the next level and 3 people died , doing that. rest in peace rockers
I remember sitting on Mount Washington for 12 hours drinking and waiting to watch this happening. It was like a tailgate party before a game

I was sitting in my apartment at 625 stanwix st watching it from my window.. its the big parking garage at the very end of stanwix.
That was an impressive demoltion.
That was a VERY SAD DAY! The WORSE day was when they tore down Forbes Field.
Keith Thomas-Or if you're a Dodger fan, the day they tore down Ebbets Field (Polo Grounds if you're a Giants fan).
Just like yesterday. I remember how everyone thought it wasn't going to collapse for a couple seconds...the giant eagle sign and iron city

Not for all, because PNC Park replaces the Three Rivers Stadium

Sounds like Led Zeppelin was still performing there and they brought the house down.
