It was reported that Aisha (ra) said “My mother intended to make me gain weight to send me to the (house of) the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). But nothing which she desired benefited me till she gave me cucumber with fresh dates to eat. Then I gained as much weight (as she desired).” (Sunan Abi Dawud 3903)

Muslims need to think about a more vegan diet. Meat addiction is rampant in the Muslim world with some people eating meat 2-3 x a day (!). We know that the Prophet (SAW) rarely ate meat (look it up). Also, halal slaughter seems to be only loosely followed. Is the animal given water and comfort before being slaughtered? Is it slaughtered out of sight of other animals? What about the life cycle of the animal? Was it raised in filth and pumped full of hormones and steroids and treated in a cruel way?
It’s time for Muslims to wake up. Meat addiction, obesity and diabetes are everywhere but people choose to ignore most of the Hadith and Sunnah regarding meat consumption.

How comes they ate dates for 3 months? Was it due to lack of food, or just eating less in general?

Eating with right hand is only a practice to keep one hand clean, if you’re left you keep that hand clean our religion is about practicality and logic, what your saying about changing the natural habits that God gave make no sense.

What about what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to the sahabi who refused to eat with his right hand saying that he couldn't, the Prophet (ﷺ) told him that nothing would prevent eating with the right hand except pride.
