writing z = 1/ ( x ^ ( 1/2023)) one gets
x^2 / z - 6 x / z - 16/z = 0
(x - 8) ( x +2) /z = 0
(-2) ^ ( 1/2023) being a complex number
Only feasible solution in real domain is x = 8
