I agree that WE do not always act like Jesus, but NOT that disciples of Christ can bear NO fruit, "Fail all the time."
"You will know them by their fruit" was Jesus prophetic way of saying, they will (in future) bear fruit when they have God in them (post ascention).
God ABOVE US: Old Testament
God WITH US: Gospel intertestatamental period
And
God IN US: post ascention and the coming of the Holy Ghost to the believers.
