I was there too. Ears still ringing. Eric had a funny moment before the song. He should have started off with saying something to the effect that this moment is a highlight of my career. Imagine the honor to touch that guitar let alone play it like a master.
I'm sure Jimi would be delighted to see Mr. Johnson doing his song and guitar such justice (right side notwithstanding, of course).
Once again....why I no longer can go to concerts. Johnson is playin' his ass off on a very difficult song to play....and STILL you can hear the asinine folks in the crowd yabbering back and forth....ARRGGHH!!! I will be attending a show in December and if this happens there....that will unfortunately be the end for me. And I've been attending shows regularly since The Beatles at The Hollywood Bowl. I will miss the power and the vibe of a live show.....but rude fans have ruined it.

Man, what a rude guy that Eric Johnson is. He's up there making so much noise with the guitar, I could hardly understand the conversation those guys were having.
