Truly enjoyed this video. You and your words of faith are amazingly refreshing. I’m an old soul. Twenty six grandchildren. We raised our 9 children, who are adults now in church. How do people who don’t know our Jesus do it? We love resurrection Sunday. Thank you for your special ideas for young families.
Anything you choose to do is totally fine. I think we’ve gotten too wrapped up in what we should do or what the trends are that nothing is our own anymore. I say make it all your own and feel great about your decisions and traditions! Happy Easter!
Thank you, Diana! We did resurrection eggs with our daughters when they were children! We did 1 egg after supper each night starting 11 days before Easter. Never forget the look on their faces when they for the first time opened the last egg & discovered that it was empty! He Arose! ~Going to do your reading plan this week! What wondrous love is HIS! JOYful Easter to All! 🌿✝️🌺
A few years ago I bought a bunch of those fake white dying eggs in an after Easter sale. I also bought religious Easter egg wraps. Now I have a big basket of Easter eggs to use at church. Usually, we hide them each Sunday in the nursery/Early Learners room and a have a short hunt before our circle time. Just a fun reusable activity that the kiddos love.
Great Easter ideas! My kids are grown up but I appreciate the devotion you provided! Prayers your family has a blessed Easter Sunday with all the family. ✝️🤗
Our church does an Easter event for the whole family. It is all centered around the resurrection eggs. It's set up in 12 stations and at each one a part of the story is told. As they leave a station they receive an eggs numbered and containing a small item as reminder. We use egg cartons and send the set home. Great way to retell the story.
You look so pretty, Diana!✨️ Love your hair & your jacket~👍 I also love your thoughts on celebrating holidays in meaningful ways to keep our focus on Jesus and to draw our hearts closer to Him.💜 Thank you for everything you share with us all!🌿 Blessings on your Easter celebration~ Jesus Lives! ✝️
A really fun craft with eggs is take hard boiled eggs that are completely cooled. Cut up bleedable tissue paper squares and use different colors of tissue paper. Take one inch tissue square, dip in a small bowl of water and place it on the egg. Gently press it onto the egg until it all sticks. Finish the egg. Overlapping is fine. Dry complete. When dry, the paper starts coming off. Take off paper and wala. Beautiful and fun. So much fun. Can do this outside or inside.
It is so easy when you are Catholic...you just do Holy Week and celebrate Easter. The Triduum is so beautiful especially in the Traditional Latin Mass. (Ask your parents if they remember that.) All of the divine office and liturgies are so beautiful. Talk about mystery! God bless and keep you and your family.
Yes! I was just thinking that! We don't do any of the extra stuff, but we have four days of beautifully rich Mass, and then share a meal with extended family.
Thank you Dawn for this wonderful message. I am reading this on Palm Sunday. I will go to my library today after church and print your Easter guide. Even though I am a little late doing this, I can't wait to start the bible reading plan through the book of John!
I memorized a very long chapter dealing with the earliest part of Easter morning. I was only 3 and maybe 2 months when I have to get up in front of a church and recite this. Long, long chapter. For a young child it is a very long chapter. Thank you ❣️
Dear Diana, It is so good to see you well and about. Be abundantly blessed this Easter season. Thank you for the beautiful Easter Guide. It is so detailed and well constructed, a true helper in this busy season. I will follow along with your reading plan and am very much looking forward to diving into the fascinating story of amazing grace. Lots of love from Germany.
Happy Easter , Diana ! Wonderful visit here with you. Love your humor, your desire to serve & how the Holy Spirit is felt so powerfully when you pray ! God bless you ! Liz
Thanks, Diana! Love these ideas and this has definitely gotten me excited to make the whole week Up to Easter a time of focus and enjoyment for our son and us. Downloaded the guide!
The fake eggs are 100% worth it my kids use them all year we used markers you can wash and dry them and redraw on them they use them in their play kitchen absolutely the best
I memorized a very long chapter dealing with the earliest part of Easter morning. I was only 3 and maybe 2 months when I to get up in front of a church and recite this. Long, long chapter. For a young child it is a very long chapter. Thank you ❣️ Sorry, beyond how expensive the perfume is/was, I see it as poring what ever things we do to gain that wealth to miss spend. Yes, the wealthiest of men of that time would spend that money on slaves to make their wealth. We can also see how he was being fraganciaed by our sins, then only then was he received by those, who would turn around to have him sacrifice.
Thanks the guide looks great! 44pgs to pick and choose from a great overall review…. I’m really filling gaps in my understanding this year; seeds to teach my children all the things
Thank you so much for your explaination and the lovely Easter guide, you put such a lot of thought in producing that for us, thank you….Josée in the UK
you are not failing as a mother. failing would be if you required the kids to eat the "leak-through dye" hard boiled egss. L O L. thank you for your Easter suggestions. Blessings to you and your family.
***life hack*** I love that they let you opt out of bags now but I actually don’t bother with bringing my own bags for the groceries. Instead I bring a few laundry baskets and we throw all the groceries in those. Makes it so quick and easy to bring everything in. Hopefully someone else can use this tip!
Thank you for this. You’re so motivating & a special person. x As Latter-Day Saints/Mormons we tend to concentrate more on what the Saviour went through in the garden of Gethsemane & how he bled from every pour for us. We do remember what he went through on the cross too, as this is very important. Just curious, don’t people in the US have large chocolate eggs like we do in the UK? They’re a huge part of Easter here. If you say tell children that their eggs are from the Easter bunny when do they learn to say thank you to the people who have bought them chocolate eggs? I’ve never understood the thing about having new clothes for Easter. I just don’t get it. Also, I think Easter clothes should be bright colours like yellow, not boring brown etc.
@@WiseWomanLola I’m Greek Orthodox, all Eastern Orthodox celebrate Easter on different date because we follow the Julian calendar. Thanks for asking! A lot of people don’t know this. We joke that we get our candy half off. Because Easter is a floating holiday most years our Easter is one week behind. Every four years or so it falls on the same date. And this year our Easter is May 5.
@@fousies That's interesting. I know that your church has Christmas on a different date too. I didn't know about Easter. I really wish we could celebrate the resurrection on the same week as Passover, as it was in the Bible. In any case, the date is not as important as the meaning of our focus on Jesus.
I think the plastic egg everything is super sad. I'm SO glad we had traditional Easter baskets waiting for us on the kitchen counter when we woke up in the morning, went to church and had our egg hunt - with real, colored eggs - afterwards. I'm so glad we dyed eggs with the smelly vinegar and popped out the little towns from the mixture boxes and played with our colored eggs in those towns. And, then, mom made egg salad sandwiches a couple times that week after. It wasn't hard to have no waste and eat them all.
Dyable plastic eggs! I'm torn between "huh", and "that's genius!" The kids will surely enjoy them, and it will make a memory, so they satisfy the purpose, right? Thank you for the free Easter resources, Diana!
John Newton 1807 said, “my memory is nearly gone, but I remember two things: THAT I AM A GREAT SINNER, AND THAT CHRIST IS A GREAT SAVIOR.” John 3:16 states the gospel clearly, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
I love that you don't use real eggs. Always made me feel wasteful when my children wouldn't eat them. All the children who dont get to eat eggs. :( Plastic is problematic but in this case, best option. Also, I am a Quaker and we do not have a minister or pastor in our communities. I'd love to hear how you define The Lord/God. So many have such different ideas. I'm inspired by your videos. Thank you!
Great exhortation Diana. Also, Jesus was man and He understands all of our suffering - look at the walk to the cross, specifically the 24 Hours between his arrest and crucifixion. ❤🐑
The resurrection story is the gospel. It should ne a part of our day every day. I do not use the term "Easter" when we studied the history of how this came about with my kids years ago. I love that your focus IS CHRIST. Sad that for so many its just a day for food, sweets, and a new dress or clothes and shoes.. it's not about a bunny, it's about the lamb, Jesus. Blessings.
You are such a blessing to me, Diana 🙏💕
I've been doing the fake eggs for dying for years :) It's the best.
Thank you for the encouraging and refreshing faith message! You visit with us like there's no camera and you're talking to a friend. 🙂
How I wish there was no camera between us! Thank you so much for your kind message 💛
