Thank you for this. I know nothing about astrology and its archetypes but took great comfort listening to Richard Tarnas’s lectures as Covid first hit, and then as our human systems’ unraveling became obvious to all despite denial by corporations and governments.
May we each choose to develop our better selves, and acknowledge our forever connection. We are each responsible, and we are all in this together.

As a psychological astrologer and expert at Jungian theory at the advanced level, I have had a long experience studying Saturn Pluto aspects and from what I have found is that they represent shadow projection, and a scapegoat archetype and absolute values in the collective unconscious. This is part of the evolution of conscious. It does represent a psychological death and rebirth as Richard Tarnas has said. Jung wrote in The Undiscovered self that it is up to the individual to come to consciousness, so the psychological and spiritual changes and evolution of consciousness can only begin with individual so one can only be responsible for one's own shadow; to become conscious of it. Jung called it a metanoia which happens with a kairos. The shadow does not see it own reflection. It is invisible and projected onto a scapegoat which is seen as all bad. We see this with wartime psychology. Saturn Pluto aspects don't always result in catastrophe or wars, but can represent a power drive, inflation and false sense of superiority which happens in the Jungian negative transference and counter transference. The individual or group under the influence of shadow projection becomes too quick to rush to judgment of the scapegoat, especially character judgment and eventually at the end of the day we all have equal value so the whole shadow based polarized state of the opposites eventually becomes balanced with the withdrawal of the projection of the shadow into the subject,, consciousness comes and one political group, country or leader is not superior to the other or the collective is not superior to the leader.. There can be over idealism involved where the scapegoat is expected to live up to a too high standard that no individual can reach since no one is without a shadow, especially those making the judgment of the scapegoat and this idealism can be part of a mass mind. Sometimes the scapegoat really is a very bad leader, but sometimes not. There is something to the idea of a collective judgment and morality that we could call the survival instinct and self preservation of the species as a whole versus the individual's survival which can challenge the survival instinct as a whole especially if the individual is too ruthless, violent, destructive etc.

If we each aim to be the best version of ourselves, everything else will resolve naturally and we will evolve into a class one species, which puts the good of the whole community ahead of the individual.

@@patravasio This is nice. I’d add that collective and individual need to both be held as vital, held in forgiving but difficult tension, we open to potential change in the space of transformation created by this dynamic flow.

Eye wonder, is their a dark night upon us, or is it us outgrowing those around us? Yes there is a whole lot of stupid now, still growth is happening everywhere. This growth causes much confusion in many, people don't like seeing their past ignorance. Some refuse the growth, for it shatters their reality that they built their lives upon.
