Fish Food, I believe that it's 1 of a few things. Stonk Placeholder, but not Plat Token; collections for reasons; but most likely ? Bot farms buying them to simplify the code required to finish the quest
The reason items like fish food sell on the GE is because bots questing buy the quest items on the GE. They need 10 quest points to lift trade restrictions.
Bots get banned everyday. Bots just make new accounts, that's why you think they aren't banning. Just look at Steven Bots they get banned everyday all 40 of them.
Any random price spikes are bots. Scripts will try to buy quest items etc before hand to just complete it and just keep going up until it buys. You can abuse the shit out of it
i mean small fishnets are lit to, you just pick them in the pile south of lumbridge in the fishing instructor, boring and mindnuming but you can make a decent starting stack.
Surprised arrav phoenix gang’s 30 second grape spawn isn’t in that money making list. At 3k per grape you’re looking at approximately 360,000gp per hour.
I believe I may be partially to blame for the fish food prices a little while ago I showed a bunch of people how to get a pet fish from the fishing store in catherby and we were all feeding our fishes and even as a little emote for it we had a large group of people and some of the are probably still buying them which is causing the price to go up. Alot of people dont know about how to get the pet fish so I'm not surprised this happened lol
Was fish food a requirement for getting pet fish? Pretty sure you need to get a pet fish for achievement diary, so yeah maybe by the time people go for that diary they just buy it off ge rather than go searching for "wherever fish food spawns."
The fish food has to be some sort of way to obfuscate IRL money trading wackiness if i were to guess. It's such an obscure item, there's no way it should be selling for 20k.
How does this even make sense. Like explain how it would work at all. They can literally just trade any items to each other or use wilderness pk or dropping items/gp or use Platinum etc. just wondering how the fish food would come into play
@@chriskayton9830 So if you've seen a lot of bot catcher / exploit videos, a common theme is that many of the bots in the farm need to get seed money from another account in the farm. This is to get supplies or whatever the bot needs to do whatever it is it does. Sometimes, farmers will script their donor bot to only trade gold to specifically level X bots who have some certain gear equipped or whatever. People hunting these farms sometimes will even drain the seed bot of money by repeatedly trading with it. I suspect that these fish food trades are similar in nature / a way for a farm to distribute money to the bots in the farm. It's an obscure item that no one in the right mind would buy or sell, and easy enough for a bot to pick up the food from the manor. When the farm isn't running, the seed bot just needs to cancel it's orders on the GE, and place the orders again when he needs to transfer gold to the bot farm. It's all just a way to obfuscate the transactions so that it's less apparent than having dozens of bots running in a line to trade with the same character over and over again.
I have to wonder who the hell was paying that much for fish food and why. It feels like either they're onto something or it was a couple rich players doing it for the meme
The fish food, weirdly I think it might be bots are buying it up for doing the quest as like you said, any sane player would not be buying it. Only other thing I could imagine is someone collecting it.
Wrong. Bots are programmed to do the quest as-is. I used a free script that does 3 quests, including this one, to free my new account of trade restriction. It does not buy fish food.
I can't help to think that some rich bigger picks a random item to buy just to "share the wealth" without a potential beggar issue. One of my friends made 20m off mushroom soup because they were going for 20k or something. Lol
