I greatly appreciated your video. It expanded my thinking about what Revered Knowledge meant or could mean. I had the word revered connected to reverence which is hardwired to religion in my brain. It has been difficult for me to read this title without seeing it as yet another veiled attack on religion. I get a bit exhausted with the attacks against religion because the atheists aren't impressing me as the safer option. I find myself wanting to throw away God, but I don't see any other forces (beliefs) at work in humanity restraining our evil machinations. I get depressed seeing how evil and ignorant God's followers act, then I step back and realize that the enemies of faith act with even less restraint. I feel like education is the best hope for humanity, but the progressive movement seems to create less and less tolerance even as it touts tolerance as their aim. We really have some difficult problems to tackle. Thanks again for the refreshing and informative video. Keep up the good work.
Many thanks for your thoughtful & reflective comment. I absolutely agree that education is the best (only?) hope for humanity. One of the increasing problems I see is the use of labels. We label ourselves and others, which not only increases division, but decreases nuance. It's better not to see the world as a set of in & put groups, but as a vast spectrum of complex inter-related views. Thanks for your support, and best wishes for your essay !
Essay #1 has an instruction to discuss with reference to history & the human sciences. Essay #2 (Revered & Fragile Knowledge) has an instruction to refer to "the arts and one other area of knowledge".
