1:09 thanks! This guide helped me find the suitable cooler (+importantly the Dell 4 to 5 pin adapter) for the T5820 at work and made the installation a smooth process. Thank you very much! No more jet engine sounds from the case 💤

To anyone still having the fan error, try turning off "Dell Reliable Memory Technology" in the bios. It's under "Performance".

How do you do this upgrade without BIOS cpu fan error warnings?

As long as you use the fan power adapter and plug the noctua fans in to the system board, you shouldn't be getting errors.

Any resizable bar bios mods out there for this workstation?

Hey there I recently picked up the same pc with the same specs for cheap. I want to slowly rebuild it into a monster sleeper build over time but the biggest problem at the moment is the cpu. Mine has a xeon w-2123. I saw your upgrade guide on your website to put in the i9 but that's not a long term solution.
Do you think you could make a tutorial about swapping out the motherboard with a more modern board, and modern boards that would fit in the case?

Well add it to the list. Also, we list the i9 system board, processors, and memory on our upgrade guide if you want to swap to the i9.

Sometimes, depending on the MFG of the GPU and Overclocking. We've fried quite a few stock 525W Power Supplies on T3500 Workstations because of upgrading the GPU's. Sometimes they the system will just shut off or go to a black screen because there isn't enough power going through gpu power rails. Just be prepared to replace the power supply if it has issues.

Does everything work just like this for T5820 with the Xeon W-22xx CPU?

"I'm considering upgrading the cooling system for my computer, but I'm wondering if this will increase the internal temperature of the case, and if it will also raise the temperatures of the RAM and graphics card?

    I have a Dell Precision 5820 with 3 x 8GB PC4 2666 RAM, 1 x 16GB PC4 2666 RAM and 1 x 32GB PC4 2666 RAM.
What would be the correct layout as the PC is now beeping and not booting. All I did was remove the memory for maintenance and I don't remember the layout? Any ideas?... :(

I wish tthe 5820 had pcie 4.0 support. It would definitely be on my upgrade path if so. I fear the newest Precision 7865 is going to be more of a niche product and we wont see a big dump of them on the used market in a few years like we have with previous Precision models.

We’ll have to wait and see. Most of the precisions that we see hit the market are because of 3 to 5 year business leases. Hopefully that continues, because they are a great value.
