I just received the XP-PEN Artist 12, and the monitor on the tablet isn't displaying anything other than my laptop's desktop wallpaper. The dock and any other applications do not show up, even when the monitor is set to Artist 12. I am using a Macbook Pro.

Hi, we guess you are working on extended mode because there is only PC's desktop wallpaper displayed.
You could go to display setting to set Artist 12 as the main monitor, or work on the mirror mode there. :)

Hello! I got this tablet for Christmas, and had no idea it could display my monitor until an hour ago. However, I have everything plugged in correctly according to this video, and the tablet displays a “no signal” icon. It is a 2017 MacBook Air, Version 10.13.6. This is my mom’s work computer, so it has a lot of things made off limits in the settings. Is there something I need to change in the settings, or is there something else I need to do?

@@allystaudt4398 Sure, have to connect the HDMI cable with the USB C cable (The white cable) And then connect the USB cable that is also attatched to the HDMI cable into your macbook aswell as the USB C cable. Im not sure if these instructions are good enough but oh well *Insert shrug* Also I would suggest you make sure your macbook is fully charged while you use the tablet because the tablet uses up alot of the battery
@@Octomonn Do i have to use the cable provided to me from XP pen themselves? I bought my own HDMI to USB cable due to it not being a fit for apple's ridiculously designed USB ports on the 2017 model. As for power, It's fully charged yes. I just can't seem to get a signal to the pen display itself; when i press the express keys everything pops up and the tablet itself is being detected, there's simply no screen signal.
I’ve ordered one and it came yesterday, but I can’t get it to work with my Mac Computer. I didn’t get a white wire. :/

You have to connect Artist 12 to your Mac through 2(HDMI&USB)-in-one(USB on Artist 12) cable.
There is a HDMI to Mac adapter comes in the Artist 12 package, seems you don't need to purchase another if you are sure there are available USB port on your mac to use.
The steps are very complicated. Is it possible to plug USB-C in the tablet to USB-C in my macbook pro, without the use of any HDMI adapter?

Huh.. You should plug the 3(HDMI, red USB, Black USB) -in-1(USB) cable to work on the Artist12. If there is no HDMI port on your computer, we recommend you to buy an adapter to use. :)

I got this tablet about a week ago. Right when I got it I tried to set it up but since I’m working on IMac, I couldn’t plug in the HDMI cable, so the actual screen itself wouldn’t show but the tablet worked as a normal drawing tablet without a screen. I have been using it like that the whole time. Yesterday I ordered something that would connect to the HDMI cable so I could connect it to my IMac! I got it today so I got really exited. But... I’m disappointed again. The only thing that would show on the screen is my wallpaper. I’m extremely disappointed because this was my birthday gift! Does anyone know how to fix it so I could use the screen? Sorry I just wrote like my whole life story lol

Don't worry, I guess you are working on the extended mode, so the wallpaper will appear on the Artist12 screen only.
You could go drag the application window to the Artist 12 to work on it, or set the Artist 12 as the main monitor, or try to work on the mirror mode in the display setting.

stylus will work on my mac screen but when i move the cursor to the tablet screen and try to draw it goes back to my mac screen. Any ideas?
Go to "Setting" - "Display" - "Arrangement" and set Artist 12 as the major display. If it still doesn't work, please write to service@xp-pen.com and better to attach a video or picture to show your problem.

That didn't work for me because someone uploaded the wrong driver for the XP Pen 12 on the web site. You might want to check on that.

Garbage product. Doesn't work on either my Mac or Linux device. On Mac the resolution of 960x540 is detected as the "default", and the pen and tablet kind of work. But, when set to 1920x1080 -- the advertised resolution -- it doesn't recognize the pen. On Linux there's a massive offset so wherever I put the pen tip the cursor is off some exponential value. There is no calibration on the Linux software package, and even then, when Calibrated manually through third party software it still failed. Support was not able to resolve any of these issues. :/

Maybe your computer is in extended display mode, you can change it to duplicated display mode by following the instructions below: Go to "Setting" - "Display" - "Arrangement" ,select the image in the "Mirror Display"

I finally got my Artist 12 to connect without the "no signal" message (I had the HDMI connected to the wrong port), totally my lack of technology! I now have a new issue! I cannot open the application to begin using my Artist 12. I'm operating on a Macbook Pro using the Yosemite 10.10 program. I've been figuring things out with advice blogs through different platforms, but am now stuck again. My Artist 12 mirrors my laptops screen, I can move the cursor with the stylus, but I cannot figure out how to open the Xpen application so I can begin creating! I WISH XPEN HAD A BIGGER COMMUNITY OF TECH SUPPORT!!!! Can anyone assist me?

You have to make it easier for the customer to connect the Tablet with the Macbook. Or at least have workers who could go to the customer's house and help them, because chatting through email or stuff doesn't help at all. Way to complicate to connect it

What USB HDMI adapter do you use? Where can I get it?
Amazon or instacart. It’s gonna look like a block piece for an hdmi fit on one end, and a small square box piece to plug your computer in with the other. I got a brand called Philips SWV9200F/27
Hi Xp-Pen, seems like a lot of people are having trouble with the same problem... "Device not found" . I notice every time someone asks how to fix this you ask what their operating system is (as if there isnt a general fix) . Mine is 10.13.6 if it really matters, but according to the driver I downloaded that should be good. Regardless I really don't see how that is still relevant because I'm seeing threads about this issue that are months old. Why is this not fixed?

@@mk9069 So it seems like when using an HDMI chord its just recognized as a monitor. When using a USBC chord converted to USB its just recognized as a keyboard.
I solved the problem by using both at the same time and it worked. Kinda silly that you need to do that though.
I think it may have to do with the hdmi cord not being plugged in. When you get a individual hdmi piece that hooks up to the computer from your tablet plugging in your tablets hdmi part to your computer. It’s then that you should start to see the tablet mimic your computer. Make sure the cords it came with are plugged up ss well
Hello! I recently got this tablet for Christmas, but it is not working for me. I have a newer Mac Book, and it doesn’t have the USB or the other plug ins, only a type c. Even with a converter, I can’t get it to work properly. Any help? :(

So from the guide on the website, do you need to move the PenTabletSettings into the firewall whitelist and have it control your computer, or is this all you need to do? The video is way different from the guide. By the way, I'm using an Macbook Pro, 10.14 OS
I recently just got the Artist 12 and my pen is not working. It works as a cursor but it doesn't actually click anything, thus it doesn't work for drawing either. Also, I watched tons of videos on how to connect the Artist 12 and how to use the driver, etcetera. The pen doesn't even work for calibrating. What do I do?

It says device not found when I go to PenTabletSetting. Everything is plugged in perfectly, and I’m working on a MacBook Pro. All my tablet shows is a blue screen with the bar on the top that shows what application is open, the time, etc. What can I do?

Useless tutorial, too fast and ilegible
I have just recently bought your product and I have a MacBook Air, and I have figured out how to set up my XP-Pen Artist 12 and mirror the screens, but for some reason, my pen isn't working. When I use the pen on the XP-Pen Artist 12 it doesn't respond and it goes to the top left corner of the screen and won't move anywhere else.
This was not happening before, as it was working perfectly fine and responding to wherever I had put the pen.
I've tried looking in the pen settings, shutting off the tablet and my computer and turning it on again, taking out the cords and replugging them but nothing has worked.
Please help me fix this!!

i have a Macbook air and I downloaded the driver for it,,but somehow I can't adjust the express keys or the stylus settings
i have all the drivers installed, but how can i get things to display on the tablet monitor ? its just shows me the top menu of my computer and my home screen, and when i calibrate it the tablet screen goes black and the calibration occurs on my computer.
Because it is in extend mode, you can set your tablet as main monitor or set as the mirror mode in computer display settings.

Is that Tablet only to usewith a Laptop or iPad? How work with PC . Because graphic Card HDMI is connected with OLED TV Panasonic and IS only one Port
The tablet can't be connected with iPad,with laptop and PC it works.You could buy a HDMI to USB adapter to connect tablet with PC

I have mine connected to my laptop and it turned on and was working, but then it turned off only a minute later and I can't turn it back on, so far this has happened a few times.

this tablet was great but i can no t work on it over half an hour it turns off and shuts my computer off and makes it restart
Uninstall the driver, restart the computer. When you enter the desktop, don't install the driver, draw again as usual to see if the problem still exists. That is to see if the issue is caused by driver.
I’m at the Calibration part but I’m confused on how they got the calibration onto the tablet and not the laptop. Plus, it skipped that part so I don’t know what to do

Please go to our tablet driver to find calibration part, you could calibrate the minor distance between pen tip and cursor. It was not calibrated on PC. :)

Please don't ignore me, I just paid 200 € for that thing. For my stylus, supposed to do left click with pressure and everything, is just replaced by a right click.. like every time I move my stylus it makes like im right clicking and i cant draw anymore

Ⅰ.Make sure one of VGA, DVI or HDMI cable has connected to both tablet and computer, and be connected tightly.
Ⅱ.If you use USB to D-sub, DVI or HDMI trans adapter, please make sure it is in good condition before using.

Can this be used by a single thunderbolt port if I wanted to carry only one type c to type c cord?
You have to plug the 2(USD&HDMI)-in-1(USB) cable into your PC to make the Artist 12 work.
The USB port& HDMI port need to be plugged into your computer.
So a single thunderbolt port won't work. :)

You should plug the USB and HDMI cable to work on the Artist 12.

This is a late reply, but you should buy the Usbc adapter from Xp pen if you have their drawing tablets. Not sure if it would work on a apple usbc adapter

hello, the macbook 2-in-1 wire isn't compatible with my macbook pro, semmingly because the wire only fits the old macbook thunderbolt :(

We think you are working on Extended mode, if you want your Mac and PC show the same image. Please adjust it to mirror mode in the display setting.

All of our tablets need to connect to computer to work. :)
Hi. I recently purchased this tablet and have completed all stages accept that on the calibration part, it will show up on my mac but not the tablet and anything i bring up on the mac doesn't on the tablet (apart from my computers background with is a frog).

We guess you are working on extended mode, so the programs will appear on the Mac(the main monitor in display setting.) You could drag the programs to tablet, or set the tablet as the main monitor, or work on duplicate mode.

My screen on the tablet wont show any of the open windows but everything else works. how do I fix this?
Hi, did you mean the software windows won't pops up on the tablet screen?
If so, you could drag the windows from your computer screen to tablet screen. Or you could set the tablet screen as the main monitor in the display setting. If more question, please email to service@xp-pen.com, thus we could assist you further. :)
Hey dear XP Pen support, when will you add the AZERTY keyboard mapping by default in your drivers? It's a shame only QWERTY keyboard have their shortcuts recognized by default at the moment. Please make an udpate so EU users can enjoy their Artist tablet too.
