- Hey babes💕💕💕 Im back with another upload, so for those of you who don't know I work at McDonald's and I wanted to bring you guys along with me for an overnight shift !! very real and raw and what I do on a day to day basis!! The night owl in me misses my 3rd shift days. Working nights was kinda special. You get to stay up all night and sleep in as long as you want. But careful not to sleep your free time away. Most people cringe at 3rd shift, but I miss it. These days I stay up til 1am and wake up at 7am for work. 🌙 🦉

Former Mcnasty worker here, Cash only was really the worst because during that time thats when the drunk n high ppl come n order a lot of stuff, so u gotta make sure u rounding up right n writing everything down on the back of a large bag 💀, then gotta take the whole fry station apart and ice cream machine to clean that n all the other dishes while in between that rushing back to taking orders when a car came, getting ready to switch over to breakfast by setting up the coffee mugs n switching over all the sauces n everything n prepping ice coffee.... I can go into a lot more because I worked there before covid n after covid, worked all shifts before, but Good shi u doing your thing Bri 👏🏾💯🤍
I work overnights at McDonald’s, everything is pretty dead on what I do. If you’re confused why cash only, around 3am for about a half hour or so (starts at a diff time each night I think) the system reboots and we cannot use our typical equipment

What’s a typical overnight shift in aus?? I currently work at a franchisee McDonald’s that closes at 11pm and we have to close the store at 12am i mostly do close it isn’t fun but it’s the same everyday unless it’s busy it hurts my back but i can’t be bothered doing rushes and seeing kitchen going to hell and burning myself or doing line with the manager yelling.
That’s why i want to move to a 24 hour one and there is a corporate maccas near me that is 24 hours and i just want to prepare myself
And is moving from franchisee to corporate easy??? Or nah? I rarely meet my gm as closers lol mostly shift managers and I don’t wanna offend them
@@jaysss6636 I worked for a franchise and it was 24 hours, not having close is good in that respect but sometimes having close I wish we had because I would do 10pm-6am and sometimes would even get out at 6am, I’d even go in an hour early just to get my stuff done. Most maccas are 24 hours here in Aus. Overnights are always busy bc you have all the intoxicated people and what not coming in for feeds. @@lexconnolly_ some people said to me it was a little bit nicer than closing maybe tiring at times cause it may be busy but just plain closing is more tiring as you don’t really have the time to seat you only have 1 hour to reassamble everything, put everything back, do grill close, do bin room, flood everything, put everything in the freezer/fridge, count waste, (manager count stocks employee counts waste)
Turn everything off, if front haven’t done it kitchen guys will do front vats etc etc atleast they say in 24 hours it’s much more spaced out and the orders aren’t crazy sometimes a handful but isn’t crazy and nobody really cares about the time (i heard). Most of this you’ll do solo (cause one person is in washroom) and front peeps have their own world

@@lexconnolly_ literally same in response to going in an hour early, unpaid though. But do 10-6 every day, I dislike it because we have no one that actually works overnights unless it’s a Friday night, no other people seem to care about work. 5 people in kitchen close and areas a mess nothing stocked and standing around and slow on line 😂

I could never work fast food idk how you do it but bless you you’re absolutely amazing! I’ve heard so many crazy stories from friends that worked in the fast food business and one of my friends had an intoxicated co- worker pull up to the drive thru window and the co-worker tried to climb in through the window! 🤦🏼♀️😂😭

what jobs whould you recommend then?
@@theylovemymy2630 work retail In a book store customers from there are the most relaxed and not as crazy if they don’t get exactly what they looking for. Also try working at Home Depot or a toy store stick to a store that sells specific items. When you work a food store and novelty stores like dollar tree customers tend to act the worst.

When I worked at a Burger King there would be water coming out the air vent too. It was water that pooled in a certain spot on the roof. I would go up to the roof sweep the water into drains, and the leak would stop.
McDonald's is absolute hell, but I can't stop myself from enjoying working there, service is so much fun. Working next to the freeway makes the drive-thru awful especially when I'm put onto Lane 2, My Monday manager would even have me do Window and run both the fricken screens (Lobby/Drive Thru) Though we've been understaffed during the holidays (Christmas Eve, 3pm there were only 6 of us in the store, we usually have more which helps to make it go faster). After working there for the past 4 months, I can indeed say this is the best first job and is definitely a wake-up call. For those who are just starting, bite your tongue for the next 2 weeks and you'll eventually learn how to manage the stress of going to work and you'll even look forward to it. I thought I would loathe every afternoon after school because of work, but it's honestly "whatever". I'm finishing up my senior year and this semester I'm leaving school early (I have my credits finished, there's no way I'm losing my grades to the Maccas lol) to increase my hours to 8-hour shifts, I already work 5 days a week so I've had a lot of experience. I might leave after high school, but Mcdonald's has impacted my life so much already.
I used to be the same way about those iced coffees, always added an extra pump or 2 of sweetener. I used to have a lady who would come in and request for me to make her iced coffees bc I made them the best lol.

I remember I used to do overnight man I kinda hated it bcuz when it’s time to shut down everyone in service don’t help clean up they make do everything by ur self and it’s annoying and stressful bcuz we had to open back up at 4am to start breakfast I rather prefer morning or second shift
I worked at McDonald's from 1997 - 2000. Interesting to see how much has changed. I would go back like every 3 months after I quit and first time I knew almost all the staff. After two years tho I didn't know anyone. We didn't have to deal with delivery services back then. Different world.
Man my night shift a bit different I got work from 8pm to 4am or sometimes 5am but I can definitely say that 10:30 pm to 12am deadass be the entire food rush at my McDonald's it's a pain sometimes

You had to deep clean on 3rd shift? I worked 1st shift at BK and we'd have to deep clean , while 3rd shift would continue taking orders until 3:00 a.m. we had to reopen again at 5:00 a.m

I’ll be putting anything in the door dash orders 😤🤞😩 it be stressful on Saturday nights even Friday Thursdays all week Uber or door dash orders come in blink of an eye 10 of them maybe 30 of them in a second 🤣🤣🥴 Then people will be ordering at the same time
I have a question when working the register does it tell you how much to give back to the customer?
Yes, all you have to do is count the cash, and the coin dispensary spits out the change for u, super easy !!

Once you clock in how do you know what your supposed to do? Like how do you know that you need to be at drive thru or in the kitchen?
it tells you on your schedule what area/station you will be working at that day/shift

@@AlishaBoss_ we have break. for 8 hours. there's 10 minutes. 30 minutes. then 10 minutes. if short, ye you gotta take it at the end of your 8 huors. if not, take it at least every 2 huors.

no, I only count money because we have a change dispensary
I work McDonald’s and multitasking can be challenging for those that don’t have experience. You get the hang of it pretty fast. Money wise the machine tells you how much everything is so all you have to do is give back the right change. Hope that makes sense c:

Honestly your first day won’t be that bad because one kids are in school so the morning would be busy then it’ll slow down than pick back up once everyone gets off

How much more you get paid for night shift and does everybody have to do do cashier and you said you have to work 8 hours straight no break is that your McDonald's or McDonald's in general you have to work 8 hours straight no break
Also I know this is 6 months old but Usually they get paid more depending where you live. Also depending how your McDonald’s does it some let you choose if you wan to be a cashier or a kitchen person or both. Everyone has to get a 30 mins break after working 4 hours I believe again depending on the McDonald’s
You can choose if you want full time or part time if you’re older than 18 you can choose if your a student you have to do part time

As a past fast food worker not for MCd but yes. Because minors can’t work after a certain time cause of school. It really depends on your state child labor laws tbh.

I worked there for a total of 30 hours I couldn't mentally take it another 2nd is the worst f****** job in the world lol. Why would I do 10 different jobs at the same time for $15 an hour when I could literally just be a cashier in a supermarket and get the same $15 an hour
