Thank God, long have I waited! After watching every season of Rust Valley several times, this show couldn't come soon enough. Finding this channel a couple months back was a gift in itself. Thank you Avery!!
Avery, I appreciate you taking the time to have your breakfast interrupted in Salt Lake City last week (July 1). It was a great way to finish our vacation. It was remarkable to learn that your personality is absolutely genuine and not just "made for T.V.". Thank you again for our conversation. I do hope that your stay in SLC was beneficial. If you ever find that your travels take you through West Texas, please feel free to contact this swim coach at any time. Mike
24:30 I know Mike didn't want to get to personal here. But what he said is so true and could really help so many people that are currently down and struggling. I've been dealing with a work related injury for 3 years now and its significantly change my life and I'm only 31.... My childhood friend that had been dealing with a similar work related injury of 2 years committed suicide 3 days after Christmas 2023 😭💔... So to say I'm feeling like I'm at rock bottom would be an understatement 😪 But what Mike says in this conversation was a beautiful reminder to never give up and I never will! Keep building awesome cars guys, you're all inspirations!! I wish i was born in your guys era, the good old days! All the best legends 🙏
That was absolutely one of the best podcast I've listened to. I could listen to Mike talk about his work stories for weeks. I've really enjoyed it. Gotta get him back on again.
This episode needs to be reposted I tell ya whut.. and we need more of these.. Come on.. what a beautiful thing! Best thing to watch after a shiet day of work! 😅
Hey, just found this, I am an aussie and I love seeing the yard, I remembered you from Highway to hell as the raster blaster. I really love to see the Canadian environment, and I even googled your yard to see it
Cool to see the interview. I was mikes neighbor when he first moved to the farm he spoke of up the chase Falkland road. Fun fact too Avery but in the mid 90's a previous owner of your shop and house got busted for an underground grow show too. Funny you mentioned a buried sea-can 😂😂.
A big hello from Minnesota! You two are absolutely a joy to watch, along with your extended family of folks on your program. I was thinking the show was done and over, but much to my surprise I get to see you folks again! Great life story on Mike Hall, by the way. You have some real words of wisdom, Mike!
Loved watching Rust Valley on history tv! This is Great! You to guy's are so funny! Thanks Avery & Mike!! Hope there will be a Season 5 of Rust Valley on History. Mike great story of your life! Mike my 2 favorite car & truck that you had was the 1957 Chevy Panel barn door truck & your 1970 Dodge Coronet 440 Wagon!
i have to be honest............i'm down the youtube rabbit hole. i'm a car guy from way back, along with good, honest friendships, and fun, sprinkled in with alot of hard-hitting life lessons. and people who speak openly and honestly about them. Overcoming them, and struggling with them. AWESOME interview. Heyyyyyyyyy from Arkansas!
When Rust Valley first started, I couldn’t watch it. I thought “ who are these backwoods tools?” But I’ve since changed to love the show as one of my favourites! I’ve recorded and watched every episode several times. Thanks for this interview guys! After seeing this, I could sit down and talk to you guys for hours. Just a couple of down to earth guys, in different trade, about my age, with a life well spent in common! Hi, from New Brunswick Canada!
Best pod cast this year and last. It's pure. I'm on the spanners I eat with dirty hands, always have. I'm 40 this year and still going strong. Two of the most genuinely interesting guys on TH-cam atm. I watched the show multiple times and what u see is what u get it's pure as it gets!
Hi Avery and Mike. I was watching your Netflix documentary on cars and restoration about 2 years ago. I got hooked. I just want to thank you both very much for this podcast that enlightens me so much on Mike's life. I always wished I could meet you guys and even asked for a jib when you were looking for a trainee at the workshop. Love from Cape Town South Africa guys. Wish I could meet you
I've been in Vancouver now four years, but it wasn't until I found you guys on the discovery channel that I felt I had someone to identify with in BC. And now that I found this I can finally tell Mike what's up with Avery--it's been killing me. My training is in psychology so it's fun to see you struggle with Avery's accident proneness. His mishaps are related to his personality type; he is an extrovert--by definition, wreckless and over-confident. So it's like you said, Mike, he can't help it :D:D... That said and in all honesty, I enjoy watching both of you at work and most of all the segments featuring the two of you--it's like a really good "buddy movie".... Please keep the series going! Looking forward to seeing the next whenever and wherever it's available! Cheers!!
fuck yes you guys!!! i was one of the unlucky guys to take a car home from the auction hahah got to meet mike and its a damn good thing seeing you the same as you are on TV! what a great watch!! must have been fimed a while back! PS the car is still rotting in my field haha
Good to see the both of you still laughing it up and doing stuff you like doing. You bring a lot of joy to a lot of people! Thanks, Looking forward of more to come.
Good to see you Avery. It was great to hear you guys chat and tell stories. You brought back a few memories for me from back in the old days of Cecil Lake :) Kelly Hunter
You know, one thing I never would have guessed was that Avery would be a good interviewer! This was a hellofa fun interview and really got some cool stories out of Mike. I am impressed and entertained! Thank you sir! Well done!
Enjoyed this conversation gentlemen. Mike I don't think you give yourself the credit for all the things you have accomplished in your life. I find your stories very interesting.
Just finished listening to this and I gotta say it was worth the wait. My favourite part was when you asked Mike about his favourite build and I just knew he was going to say that Sunbeam but with you I wasn't quite sure Avery. When you said the Power Wagon though I really loved hearing that in particular. Out of all the builds on Rust Valley Restorers that Power Wagon was my favourite too. I'm a Dodge guy through and through. I'd love to own a good restored vehicle like that but it's just not in the budget, doesn't mean I can't enjoy looking at them though. I've never been much of a car guy but something about the classics I just love. Looking forward to future episodes!
Avery thank you and Mike Hall 4 years of constant you've inspired me and helped me through a lot of things I have some builds I am enjoying them for you guys God bless you guys
Fantastic episode, great watching you two have a good laugh. Just for the record, my dad thinks he's Mike all lol he has a load of cars that he wants to restore but he's 67. Reminds me of dust valley restorers so much haha. Hope you all have a fantastic 2024 😊 all the way from the UK 🇬🇧
I freaking LOVE Averys laugh. Im sure it would wear on me but its funny AF for the length of the shows. Ill have to try another episode. Great show guys.
You guys are real people...I can see that there is not acting and I really like it...I have watched your series while the so called pandemic and you have been one of the things that kept me going...I felt in your show a family...thanks!
Freaking awesome.... I am a HUGE fan of Rust Bros on Netflix and LOVE cars so obviously these two guys were always great to watch on the show and now they have TH-cam channels so I'm totally psyched because I thought they were gone forever. I can't believe how inspirational Mike is.... this was AWESOME to watch. Thank you both !!
Mike, we share a winter crash story. My 84 Nissan was upside down in the mountains. Negative temps. I had 2 passengers, middle of the night. Lucky to be here. Mike sharing about over coming dark stuff..... could not have hit at a better time. Right when I needed to hear it.
love the show because its always felt genuine and the builds never get ridiculous. Its like watching a miracle seeing those crusty and rusty frames look brand new.
You guys are fantastic, watched every episode of yous on Netflix and want to see more! Both your TH-cam channels are great, hope to see more projects and podcasts - watching all the way from the Scottish highlands 🏴
After watching all the Netflix episodes , I really loved it specially it was canadian and just few hours drive from me, didn't know they were that famous Proud of you guys really ,keep up the good work and looking forward for new episodes on Netflix
Love you guys! I always love supporting awesome car enthusiasts and builders from BC! Glad to have this channel recommended to me, and subscribed! Looking forward to more of you! ❤
I’ll tell ya what. No joke, that you can only coast one way. I really liked that and the end of your rope analogy. I’m only 51 but I’m already understanding the less is more, as long as you need it; lesson. Very good advice from you guys. Avery good job interviewing. It was a good time for me watching. Thanks guys.
Wonderful podcast! So cool to see you guys catch up and share stories from your lives and around the show. Would love to see a part two. I could watch mike talk about cars for months. Keep up the great content Avery. Turn em and burn em… still at loss of words on how to describe that. ❤
My favourite thing was me and me girlfriend stopped by the shop on the way to visit my mom and you guys got me to record you both saying happy birthday to her it's still her favourite birthday gift you guys are awesome
Love you guys. Old mopar man from Mb. One thing I enjoyed was you guys are real peeps no BS. Talk real act real.real topics. Miss the show. Use to buy n flip cars in Wpg mostly early mopars. Great to see u 2 again. 😎👍🤟
Avery, awesome podcast ! Great job. Wish we would have met you at the last swap meet at white post , but you had just left. We did meet Mike however, and he was very friendly, and genuine. Wish you the best! Cheers
Honestly, I love these guys. They genuinely have so much warm and love and could could listen to them for days. It feels like coming home and, like a grandfathers story! Haha.
This is mainly to mike. Ive watched the show since the start (us based) u all have been incredibly entertaining thru the seasons. Its great seeing all of u branching out with content on here and Facebook. Back to my point tho. Mike you should speak more about ur past struggles. A lot of us that aspire to be at the level ur at now in the show, life and personal struggle r still dealing with our own demons. Hearing the small amount you said about it makes me feel that i understand where u were based on my own experience. Over the years ive been up and down with different things and problems with significant others because of it. Im in a much better place than i was currently and will never go back. As u said its hard but so is life. Theres more of us than u think that see a higher potential for our lives because of the example you show. Were all dirty hard workers that don't confom to the norm. Seeing your light at the end of the tunnel to say, it means a lot to us that r still making our way through.
Not gonna add too much info but ive been struggling getting certain pain relief recently. I have legit back issues its not just about a high but ive been on them on n off for 20 years. More recently sourcing them outside of drs as well as other things that have been removed from my life in the last several years. My only point is recently watching this podcast is giving me more real belief that i can function without wat ive been putting in my life. U know as well as i do theres much more to it than that but the bit u shared about ur past means a lot to some of us still struggling.
People liked your show, because you all were relatable to your watchers. That's why i enjoyed Rust Brothers.
So glad Mike started his own TH-cam channel... Such a happy n loving guy n will tell you stories from his past no matter the out come...
Proud to have this recommended to me so early in your podcast career. I was very sad not to see more of you guys on Netflix, glad to have you back!
What the heck happened with Netflix!?!?!?!!!?!?!!!!????? 🎉❤!?!? Peace & Love ❤️
