- The long awaited first episode of the Avery Shoaf Show (ASS)
After everyone has waited so long, Avery is excited to release this very requested episode of his show. This is the first of many to come! In this episode Avery sits down with his friend of many years Mike Hall, as they discus how they met and the many adventures and crazy shenanigans that has happened in their lives. All while cooking a steak on a cheap grill. We hope you enjoy!
People liked your show, because you all were relatable to your watchers. That's why i enjoyed Rust Brothers.
Proud to have this recommended to me so early in your podcast career. I was very sad not to see more of you guys on Netflix, glad to have you back!
What the heck happened with Netflix!?!?!?!!!?!?!!!!????? 🎉❤!?!? Peace & Love ❤️
Stupid Netflix. It prefers showing Korean movies!
So glad Mike started his own TH-cam channel... Such a happy n loving guy n will tell you stories from his past no matter the out come...
24:30 I know Mike didn't want to get to personal here. But what he said is so true and could really help so many people that are currently down and struggling. I've been dealing with a work related injury for 3 years now and its significantly change my life and I'm only 31.... My childhood friend that had been dealing with a similar work related injury of 2 years committed suicide 3 days after Christmas 2023 😭💔... So to say I'm feeling like I'm at rock bottom would be an understatement 😪 But what Mike says in this conversation was a beautiful reminder to never give up and I never will! Keep building awesome cars guys, you're all inspirations!! I wish i was born in your guys era, the good old days!
All the best legends 🙏
Keep on Trucking Bro you will have many Great Laughs to come. Time heals all, hang in there!
You too guys are absolute legends! The world needs more people like you. An absolute pleasure watching this!

Hygienically challenged is an understatement for both these dudes, but hilarious nonetheless! Great show! So real! Love it!
Boys! This was possibly the best pod cast I’ve seen! Down to earth out in the shop. Look forward to much more of this shit! Keep up the good work
Great to see the two guys "behind the scenes" sharing their stories.
Honestly, I love these guys. They genuinely have so much warm and love and could could listen to them for days. It feels like coming home and, like a grandfathers story! Haha.
Thank God, long have I waited! After watching every season of Rust Valley several times, this show couldn't come soon enough. Finding this channel a couple months back was a gift in itself.
Thank you Avery!!
Agreed, i looked forward to the every new season. You two are classics, you got yourself a viewer for life. Cheers boys!!!
Avery, I appreciate you taking the time to have your breakfast interrupted in Salt Lake City last week (July 1). It was a great way to finish our vacation. It was remarkable to learn that your personality is absolutely genuine and not just "made for T.V.". Thank you again for our conversation. I do hope that your stay in SLC was beneficial. If you ever find that your travels take you through West Texas, please feel free to contact this swim coach at any time. Mike
That was absolutely one of the best podcast I've listened to. I could listen to Mike talk about his work stories for weeks. I've really enjoyed it. Gotta get him back on again.
A big hello from Minnesota! You two are absolutely a joy to watch, along with your extended family of folks on your program. I was thinking the show was done and over, but much to my surprise I get to see you folks again! Great life story on Mike Hall, by the way. You have some real words of wisdom, Mike!
Good to see the both of you still laughing it up and doing stuff you like doing. You bring a lot of joy to a lot of people! Thanks, Looking forward of more to come.

I appreciate the time you guys have taken out of your lives to do this! It's been amazing and enjoyable to watch you keeping it 💯
You guys rock my hubby and I watched every episode of rust valley restorers. Good to see you guys again!!!
Cool to see the interview. I was mikes neighbor when he first moved to the farm he spoke of up the chase Falkland road. Fun fact too Avery but in the mid 90's a previous owner of your shop and house got busted for an underground grow show too. Funny you mentioned a buried sea-can 😂😂.
Can’t wait for more!
You guys are great! Love watching y’all 😊
Use to watch Rust Valley on TV. Enjoyed it. A friend of mine met Mike this summer at a car show. She said he was a really nice guy.
Awesome 😊 ❤ More of this, please!!
Man I miss Rust Valley! One of the best car shows that has ever been on tv!
lol watching this is a fever dream of growing up in a semi-rural and urban Alberta growing up. The way you two speak to each other is very genuine.
Avery thank you and Mike Hall 4 years of constant you've inspired me and helped me through a lot of things I have some builds I am enjoying them for you guys God bless you guys
Hey, just found this, I am an aussie and I love seeing the yard, I remembered you from Highway to hell as the raster blaster. I really love to see the Canadian environment, and I even googled your yard to see it
Good to see you Avery. It was great to hear you guys chat and tell stories. You brought back a few memories for me from back in the old days of Cecil Lake :)
Kelly Hunter

Good to see ya boy's. Very entertaining
Mike hall, I.. love your storeys, you and Avery crack me up 😂😂❤ one love man!
When Rust Valley first started, I couldn’t watch it. I thought “ who are these backwoods tools?” But I’ve since changed to love the show as one of my favourites! I’ve recorded and watched every episode several times. Thanks for this interview guys! After seeing this, I could sit down and talk to you guys for hours. Just a couple of down to earth guys, in different trade, about my age, with a life well spent in common! Hi, from New Brunswick Canada!
Great job guy's, I truly loved this! I can't wait to see yalls next season, so stay healthy and don't change! 👍

Loved watching Rust Valley on history tv! This is Great! You to guy's are so funny! Thanks Avery & Mike!! Hope there will be a Season 5 of Rust Valley on History. Mike great story of your life! Mike my 2 favorite car & truck that you had was the 1957 Chevy Panel barn door truck & your 1970 Dodge Coronet 440 Wagon!
Wonderful podcast! So cool to see you guys catch up and share stories from your lives and around the show. Would love to see a part two. I could watch mike talk about cars for months. Keep up the great content Avery. Turn em and burn em… still at loss of words on how to describe that. ❤
These guys are so cool, i wish i knew them on a personal level, they seem so genuine! Wishing all the best for you guys! I hope there are many shows to come!
Best pod cast this year and last. It's pure. I'm on the spanners I eat with dirty hands, always have. I'm 40 this year and still going strong. Two of the most genuinely interesting guys on TH-cam atm. I watched the show multiple times and what u see is what u get it's pure as it gets!
So Awesome!!! Love watching these two!!! Best show ever! They sound like when your hanging out with your buddies lol
Love you guys! I always love supporting awesome car enthusiasts and builders from BC! Glad to have this channel recommended to me, and subscribed! Looking forward to more of you! ❤
You guys are awesome!! Thank you for sharing. Great people.
Hi Avery and Mike. I was watching your Netflix documentary on cars and restoration about 2 years ago. I got hooked. I just want to thank you both very much for this podcast that enlightens me so much on Mike's life. I always wished I could meet you guys and even asked for a jib when you were looking for a trainee at the workshop.
Love from Cape Town South Africa guys. Wish I could meet you
This is what I like about these guys they are real just like us. We all have interesting stories to tell:)Thanks for sharing guys!
I've been in Vancouver now four years, but it wasn't until I found you guys on the discovery channel that I felt I had someone to identify with in BC. And now that I found this I can finally tell Mike what's up with Avery--it's been killing me. My training is in psychology so it's fun to see you struggle with Avery's accident proneness. His mishaps are related to his personality type; he is an extrovert--by definition, wreckless and over-confident. So it's like you said, Mike, he can't help it :D:D... That said and in all honesty, I enjoy watching both of you at work and most of all the segments featuring the two of you--it's like a really good "buddy movie".... Please keep the series going! Looking forward to seeing the next whenever and wherever it's available! Cheers!!
You guys are so funny. Keep up the pod cast. Love it. Love you guys !!
Just finished listening to this and I gotta say it was worth the wait.
My favourite part was when you asked Mike about his favourite build and I just knew he was going to say that Sunbeam but with you I wasn't quite sure Avery. When you said the Power Wagon though I really loved hearing that in particular. Out of all the builds on Rust Valley Restorers that Power Wagon was my favourite too. I'm a Dodge guy through and through. I'd love to own a good restored vehicle like that but it's just not in the budget, doesn't mean I can't enjoy looking at them though.
I've never been much of a car guy but something about the classics I just love.
Looking forward to future episodes!
One of the coolest guy's to watch and a great mechanic when he isn't dropping transmissions! lol thanx for sharing the insights !
That is a great story showing Mike's heart. Breathing life into a goat. Fantastic! ❤
Looking forward to the next episode!
Thank you Avery.
