I actually found some of these white rocks with yellow metal as a kid living in Southern California in streams. My mom found some too and decorated her plant area. Constant moving over the decades, and they just disappeared
The mineralized stuff looks identical to the rock on our property. I need to get an assay done. We have a fault, natural springs, a contact zone going across our property. Quartz outcroppings everywhere. North becomes south on the compass. At 5:10, we have a lot of that but I have not seen anything that looks like free mill gold. Where can I have an assay done in eastern Washington? Anyone know a good place?
I've learned a lot about geology from you fine fellas and enjoyed the lessons greatly! I'm beginning to think the loggers are both a great benefit and detriment to 911! Thanks again and ✌✌✌
Welcome aboard and thanks for your support! 👍😉 If it's a beauty and we want to display it well just wash them off and give em a good scrub. Most of the samples we keep are stored in sample bags for assays or catolouged in case do sent them in later. Occassionally we will give a few a quick muriatic bath depends on the kind of ore though.
911 Mining & Prospecting ok yeah that’s what I was wondering because I wasn’t sure if I should give them a muriatic soak every time. Thanks for the great content!
It all started with exploring old mines when I was a young teenager. Was about 13 and I saw malachite staining from copper and I just instantly had to know what it was and how it was formed and ever since then I started collecting minerals. No one really got me into it but myself. I started really getting into prospecting when I was about 16 though finding and selling gold and minerals. Then at 20 I optioned my first property a placer claim to a company from Germany. Been doing it ever scince.
Defiantly know your minerals thats for sure that granite was there a different geological formation with it becuase you said it was interesting and what type of gold is normally in that granite is mainly the fools gold type or either cheers
Some free mill gold on some pieces...thats impressive.I have owned some mineral and placer claims in some areas in the past.Just taking it easy for fun now to explore the non claimed areas. Is that logging company(I know who they are) fair to allow access up Island to your claim without prior notice to entree to it and no mandatory insurance to enter the area ? Thnx. They can be tough when it comes to Placer claims in some areas in which I was deterred from claiming one years ago.... Just curious how they are to you guys.
Submit a landowners notification they can't deny you they don't own the mineral rights you do, cant deny access either it's called the mines act right of way. The only thing they can deny is Keyed access(technically still illegal), with motorized vehicles, we usually work around it unless it's a must to get a key but it's a pain working on 2 applications with island timberlands and so far it's been 16 weeks. You may need insurance most likely a deposit.
Locked in the gate with a valid claim? We had that kind of issue with the local water utility and pacific railroad. Talked to our Congressman and 1 month later the gates were unlocked or removed entirely. And still are to this day making a rather large reservoir and river channel accessible for all to enjoy . Even private party land ownership cannot exclude you from accessing a valid claim in my State. We actually cut a new road across private property before without the consent of the owner, but in consultation with them. We also paved their preferred driveway as mental compensation for them, a 1/4 mile of it (actually it was so we would not have to have a water truck running in the hot months to keep dust down per regulation..LOL.
They aren't allowed to deny you access here if you own the mineral right either. But they can say no motorized vehicle access which means 40km of walking. Unless you want to wait 4 months for a application to go through for a gate key. Which requires, insurance, deposit, and other hoops to jump through.
A fine stroll prospecting a new road...sounds like a nice afternoon afield...the sample results aren't too shabby. The rocks look interesting out there indeed...one could kill a whole summer playing there if one wasn't in the way of forestry. Have a good one 👍
It was a start up junior mining company who couldn't get funding they never found a source and it hasn't been explored since. Now there logging which has exposed some new sub crop
Awesome ! I've never seen sulphides in that type of rock around here yet . would make for a nice counter top lol. . Great video # 2728272 ! ;) The urge to visit British Colombia is unreal hahaha

I got most of my gold finds from quarrying for new roads, blasting down 5 and 10 meters
Another great video! Can you do one showing the testing process of the samples?

Are you interested in the Chalcopyrite for copper mining, or do you see it as a marker for gold?
Both.

Awesome samples. Get it all. Beautiful! Thanks.
Just became a patron! Just wondering what is your method of cleaning your gold specimens?

If you have sulfides in your rocks and you want to use them for display I wouldn't free milling metals yes.
I like good luck brothers...
Yah might do well to use a metal detector for locating good samples in a setting like that.
I enjoy taking a hike with you two. Nifty rocks where every you look, i got a question. What or who got you into geology?

Leave a business card when the gates open and say your up there working and please leave the gate open, usually they are good....usually.

Nice, well done matey
@ 911 mining and prospecting.Thnx so much for the info.Nice to see how you handle them. They can be tough for the rest of us at times.
The rocks that my house is made from and what's in the ground in the garden look like them👍✌
Thank you!
The assay values for Antimony and Manganese are they economic if there is enough ore tonage?
No I wouldn't mine it at that grade.
Awesome adventure sweet more knowledge gold oh ya thanks guys be safe and don’t get locked in anywhere again be safe

I take it the darker mineral you thought was moly/galena was sphalerite?
Sweet early finds
You think that vein looked 2.5 cm wide? It didn’t look more than 1 inch to me.
With that much gold per ton, was there visible free gold on your samples? Thanks for all you do!
Yes there is visible gold.
I got excited about your finds and I had not watched the part where you found visible gold. Sorry and thanks again.
That's crazy results.... Can't believe the first discovery never yielded a mine ? I'd be on it like a fly to $#/£

interesting video enjoy
Road builders never look at the rocks just the amount of road stone
More for us!

Next time bring a metal detector !
