It seems Purple isn't that smart. They sit on top of sus walls where anyone could find them, and now they sat next to a lava pool waiting to be pushed off?
Purple: "Alright, just gotta stand by this lava lake and wait till you push me off and then Ima become *angy* like you're the only one guilty and I totally didn't build eyes specifically to hurt you"
How this works: The NPC spawns above a hidden active platform and falls through it. A button prophecy then switches the platform to visible, but not right away, because the button it triggers has a timer that gives the NPC time to fall down. This prophet also switches a move prophecy above the platform from ¨Stop moving¨ to ¨Move left¨. When the NPC dies, they respawn on the platform, which is now deployed, move left and press a button which serves as the output signal.
this level doesn't exist in the game, I made it in the level editor. You can get purple by adding an NPC to your level and choosing "Purple" from the dropdown list in its settings
for that level transition, i put a door on a rail set to start on player collision. this prevents the door from moving. i then have a button somewhere which is attached to the rail, setting it's speed to the max and unticking the "start on player collision" option. this setup makes the door pop out of the ground as soon as something presses the button. in this example, i made a short cutscene using a prophecy object, and added a button prophecy at the end to trigger the door
by 'rail' i mean the moving item line, which should look like a dotted line in the editor. when you hold any item which can be attached to it, the line will glow in green@@akita_.neruuu
you write "[x]" in the text, where x is some number of seconds you want to pause for. For example, the string "Wait...[1.5] what was I supposed to say?" would display "wait...", and then wait a second and a half before writing the rest of the sentence.
buttons can be connected to almost anything that has properties you can change when you open up the button's edit menu, there should be a button that says "connect to item". click it, and then click the door you want to change. now the button's edit menu should have another tab for the door's settings (click the little arrows near the title of the menu). from there, pick the room you want the door to send you into after you press the button, and of course, make sure the door's own edit menu has the right settings.
Also, how did you make it in that second room in the demo that Lumi was able to exit the room without going through an exit? It was just Purple jumping, and then the exit.
@@MaximRodin-s9u I did that by connecting a door to a track set to not move (start on player collision) and buried it under the ground. i then placed a button hidden from view, which when pressed, would make the track move at the fastest speed. essentially, when the button is pressed, the exit door jumps up from the ground and hits the player. i activated that button with a prophet item which i used for the entire cutscene.
@@National_Insurance_Clerk Nice. I will try that out. Also, if you are this smart with buttons and prophecies and all, do you know how to build a trap exit (one that plays a glitch and then kills you and sends you back to the beginning of the room, like in W8R9)?
I'm pretty sure that door didn't kill you, but rather, sent you back to the same room. to make some instant-kill contraption you could try placing a huge lava piece inside a hexagon, placing it on a platform with a receiver below, and using a button prophecy to make the platform disappear, allowing the hexagon to spawn the lava piece and cover the whole level. I'm pretty sure this is the most popular metod used by the community to do this@@MaximRodin-s9u
When an NPC dies, it normally respawns at the point where you placed it in the editor. This mechanism uses a timer to let the NPC fall to the ground without interruptions first, then moves stuff around its spawn point so when it spawns again, instead of falling it will move to the side and press a button
In-game text, or the text I put in the video? In-game text can be added with the prophet item (there's the one with the T icon, which will let you specify what text you want to display and for how much time) If you meant the text in this video, I used Microsoft's video editor for it, though I don't recommend it for more complex projects because it's rather limited
None taken! It's totally understandable, as this system is not the most self-explanatory thing out there. Still worth a try though, as it unlocks some cool possibilities for levels

why did i take me so long to figure this out, i literally used the same idea in a different demonstration

i just can't get enough of this thumbnail (i haven't watched the video)

That's a great explanation of the mechanism!

@@National_Insurance_Clerk I wanted to write that myself, but you wrote it for me
Or you just play a light in the shadows to find purple
3:09 i thought it didnt work
0:57 what theme is that?
it's the level editor theme, but as far as I know it doesn't have any official name like the rest of the tracks
If you're talking about the level color scheme, it's World 6
0:18 how do we stop this eye?

A test of kindness
You need to do the player detection
Not sure what you're referring to, do you mean the checkpoint setup that can trigger something after the player dies?
@@National_Insurance_Clerk Yes
Yes. I always thought that something would change if I died in the room a certain number of times.
why eyes in second demo room not do bashy-bashy?
O my god...
THEY KILLED PURPLE >:0
at least this time it had consequences! Perhaps not a proper court trial for murder, but dying is just a normal occurrence in this game anyways ;)
Don't worry, they can just respawn
Respawning? Never heard of it.
The tut is good ngl but can you make a separate vid on how to do 0:28? (Its ok if it not 🥱)

How do I make a prophet that only activate if I press a button?
ayyy thx mate!
Tbh this game is fun
Yes, I think it's the absolute best mobile platformer out there, because of its lore and unique approach with realistic physics and abilities.

oooooh interesting... totally not thinking of a level idea
also how did you get it to change what level you go to ingame? Or hind the buttons?
