"USDA FS Forest Health Monitoring: Program History and New Developments" with Christopher Hayes, Entomologist, US Forest Service.
Chris will present a brief overview of the FS Forest Health Monitoring program and also detail some of the current changes and possible new developments within the program. The covid pandemic, like with many other aspects of life, forced the use and rapid development of technologies for use in forest health monitoring. Some of the new trends include the increased use of remote sensing and unmanned aircraft. Chris will talk about how the FS would like to incorporate these new developments in their own operations and how it might impact states and the cooperative forest health program.
