Sinon je confirme, excellent concert et de loin le meilleur de l'édition 2014.
+emperialAnthems Bon j'ai déjà eu la chance de rencontrer Trym Torson, je suis allé chez lui à Notodden en Norvège pour me faire tatouer par lui...Mais j'aurais bien aimé pouvoir rencontrer Ihsahn et Samoth, même 5min...
Ah oui, c'est vrai que Trym est tatoueur ! En tout cas, c'est vraiment cool de la part de Metallian. ^^
De mon côté, j'ai eu la chance de rencontrer Ihsahn ce weekend au Fall of Summer Festival mais manque de pot, j'avais oublié mes CD à faire dédicacer ce qui fait que je me suis retrouvée avec une affiche géante du festival signée et difficile à ramener chez moi sans l'abîmer. :)

this is my first comment about a video in youtube , maybe the last... just to say that this the most magic moment in my life seeing gigs... getting dark in France with my partner and future wife, beholding the Emperor. 35:46. overwhelming moment.

Trym might be a more technical drummer but faust is perfect for the performance of this album. Great how the sound of the bass drum came out without a clicking sound.
This is gonna sound weird and I can’t even really point you to an example but sometimes it feels like the double bass comes in like a millisecond behind the beat but it just elevates the freezing, whirlwindy blizzard sound. So sick
Not really into black metal, but I have always liked Emperor. I think they are easily the most melodic of all the black metal bands I have ever heard, and that makes them a lot more appealing imo.
Sorry but they aren't even that melodic compared to Sacramentum, vinterland, dissection ect they're even labeled as 'Melodic Black Metal'
yes, emperor despite the style give us very nice harmonies and melodies, they make contrast between horrible and beautyful

Yeah, Faust was in prison for a long time, but had been out for a few years now, and he has been in bands other than this Emperor reunion for the 20th anniversary of Nightside Eclipse.
And other commenters are right, the drums sound like they do on the album. No complaints here!

I was there. Emperor are fucking awesome and it was a great gig, but it was kind of ruined by the fact that I knew Black Sabbath were coming next. Had me looking at my watch the whole time.

Emperor the best of the norway scene after all these years still going have the same spirit, that bring me chills when listen, god to see the oldest and former drummer Bard faust , trym for me is equal good . but in this specific gig Bard were one good option keeping the oldest line-up . will be always and forever a Epic band, if you guys like it go listen my fellowscountry SIRIUS and the album AEONS OF MAGIC

I love all of emperor's albums but Nightside is my favorite. The mood is so lush on that record and Bard's drumming was killer. Trym certainly has more technique but Bard's performance on the record was fucking great. Anyone saying he sucks here let me just say, try being in prison for years and then go play a show in front of thousands of people. Im sure Bard was unable to practice for all those years being locked up, regardless this was an epic event having the key players reunite for an amazing performance. I just wish emperor would do a proper tour. Ive been a fan since Anthems and I never got to see them perform. What a fuckin shame.
Bard was released in 2003, so he had plenty of time to practice. And he did well I'd say.

Das ist wirklich eine der besten Black Metal Band ever!!!!!
Beside others in the band, Einar in keyboards is enjoying so much with a raw soul coming probably from childhood. Probably he was grown by listening this album.

haven't heard any black metal album since 14 years or more... and surf youtube and see that bands like emperor are still playing... i only have to say WOW! THEY FUCKIN RULE. maybe it's just me but kind of miss 90's metal... specially '95 - '99 ... fantastic metal time for me at least.
