- This video is by far the best ever spot and stalk bow hunting experience I’ve ever had.
I manage to get on three different herd and put a shot on a buck from each herd.
The first was at 35 yards but unfortunately I did not recover the buck...the second one was a total missed at 22 yards.
When I found the third herd which is the biggest herd of them all... I managed to stalk within 34 yards but got busted by a doe and she spooked the rest of the herd. Luckily the bucks only ran 60 yards away from me and I had to take that uphill 60 yard shot on one of the big boys and the rest is history 🤙🏽
Thanks for the walk along g. 71 years old, watching you brings back the hunt in my mind, great job. Yes dealing with failure is hard but look at all the signs on the ground, study it, look back where you were shot arrow from and formulate an better next time shot. Loved footage of tracking blood. Haha yes it’s all part of the hunt, and I also try to get the best footage but it’s tough to self film. It’s bowhunting…it’s like making something hard even harder. I do appreciate the support though🤙🏽

Nice eye guards. My velvet buck. I did the euro mount and sprayed like 5 drenching coats of clear coat spray paint on em. Turned out cherry. And still look the same till this day.

hi - great clips... any tips on hunting times and locations? Last time I was on Lanai , I tried the hunting zone near 3 i, and also above lanai city in the kapohaku gulches near town. Any tips for my next hunt? I couldn't get closer than a buck about 80 yards... would love tips on times and spots... beautiful island....

The area in this vid is the toughest to hunt on the island...but there’s a few areas near town that if you play the wind to your favor it will happen.
I like to go out in the mornings when they’re ready to go to their bedding areas about 8-9’ish and early afternoon 2-3ish
I personally want to spot them bedded instead of playing cat and mouse but yeah wind,scent, movement, try not to be seen by any deer from the herd. Lanai axis deer gets hunted every day of the year so they are almost always on edge.
