@@tronali5703 Holy cow I hadn't thought about that but it reminds me of the horrors of being a goa'uld host in Stargate. Was the guy he possessed conscious and awake all the time or was his mind asleep? The latter would have been more comforting but doesn't change what Steve and Diana did to him. If roles haf been reversed say Superman and Lois Lane was put in the body of a young woman the entire movie would have been seen in a very different way. Especially if she became pregnant thanks to Superman and Lois' activities together. Creepy.

It’s the whole point that a wish does not come without cost. What if the cost of that’s child’s life is another child, or that child’s younger sibling? (They may have been better actually showing something like this in the film I grant)

They should have just had Maxwell Lord use a wish to make it so that he can grant wishes without people touching him directly.
As for the renouncing wish thing, it could have worked if it had been better written. Because it was one of those inspiring world coming together scenes that's more about the emotion of the moment.

I agree the movie was bad. The renouncing wishes makes sense for most people. Not for everyone in the world to somehow do it, but for people who got the message.
The lasso of truth showed everyone what their wish was taking from them. Which would be the most important thing to them. A terrorist would lose whatever they’re committing terrorism for, unless they renounce their wish. Something like that.

One of the things I liked about wonder woman is that she didn't hesitate to kill people for the greater good, in stark contrast to batman and super man who are privileged boys who don't want to get their hands dirty who let lex and the joker go knowing they will break out and kill not them but the powerless. Wonder woman knows, being in world war 1 that some time you have to kill your enemy, if she had snapped Zod's neck she wouldn't cry she'd sleep like a baby knowing she saved that mother and child and the world.
The biggest mistake in the first film in my opinion was Diana not using that tank Ares gave her to crush DR poision. Diana had killed people for less (troops following orders) but didn't want to give Ares the satisfaction of feeling he was right and probably because patty didn't want to kill any women cause men are disposable. So when I thought she had killed Cheetah it would of removed the lack of kills from the second film and made up for that non kill in the first film. But somehow Cheetah just survives.
imo I hate that people think that Diana not getting electrocuted was a plot hole. She's Zues' daughter and we saw electricity coming out of her in the third act of the first film.
But can we talk about the invisibility, why didn't she just make her armour invisible and walk in and win the day? They got rid of the invisible jet in the comics cause it was gimmicky and just made her able to fly. BUT THEY PUT BOTH IN THE SAME MOVIE, pick one!

Yes, Phone booths where around then. I made calls from phone booths as a kid. They where randomly placed all around the world and started going away in the early 2000’s. I’ve been over seas to Bahrain and Phone Booths where there.

If you give billions of people the ability to have a wish, you can bet one is gonna be nihilistic or curious enough to wish for the world to explode or for everybody to lose wishes. Imagine every terrorist, maniac, and sadist using a wish. This wish power is truly omnipotent, so they’ve already shown the maximum possible power. This considerably lowers the stakes for films going forward, so they’ve technically jumped the shark but will probably act like it was just a random one-off in the future. They needed to establish finite limits for the wishes and tell the viewer what they were.

Lex if he was around at this point would have definitely wished that his dad would stop abusing him or his dad to be dead. This is the problem of doing prequels within cinematic universes you gotta work out the timeline logistics. Give Captain Marvel some credit it knew that enhanced people and aliens weren’t public knowledge at this point in the timeline so she only had one public fight where not many people saw her and The Kree and Skrulls didn’t fully reveal themselves to the mass public. And things are only gonna become worse because DC are introducing The Justice Society in Black Adam which is set in either the 50’s or the 60’s so what is it DC, we’re metahumans public knowledge before Superman or were they not it makes no sense

What was most against wonder woman's character for me is she was fine with a living man's body being taken over by Steve, having sex with it without consent, keeping it from loved ones, work, etc and putting it at risk of dying from the combat it took it on

Even the flying scene didn't feel earned. It felt silly. The fact that she has like a minute long scene with Steve, just like, "boohoo ok bye I BELIEVE I CAN FLY." I couldn't enjoy it.

That fact that they used Adagio in D Minor from Sunshine, one of the most overused songs in movie history, completely ruined that scene for me. While simultaneously cheapening that beautiful piece of music and its use in Sunshine. You have Hans Zimmer. Use his music. That made 0 sense and was honestly kind of insulting.
Also, on the music, they used TWO AWESOME songs in each of the main trailers, yet neither were anywhere to be found in the film. Um, why? Such a missed opportunity.

I will be honest, the Maxwell Lord thing really got to me at the end, because all he ever wanted was to be successful for his son, but he was going about it the wrong way and when the lasso of truth hit him, he was able to see what he really needed to be for his son and that was to just be "there" for him. He was so obsessed with making his son proud of him, that he forgot his son in the process and I think this happens a lot really and it is sad that these father's can't see what is right in front of them.
Me too. I felt like I could empathize with him the most, since you can see that while he's technically a scam artist, he's trying his best to become successful because that's the kind of father he thinks his son deserves. I shed a tear at the end when Max embraced his son.

One thing about this movie that confused the hell out of me was the fact that Max was killing himself with the wishes. It seemed to be a big part of the movie that granting other people's wishes was destroying him. Then at the end of the movie they completely got rid of that premise. When he was granting the whole world their wishes he seemed perfectly fine.

In the beggining of the movie we get told "cheating is bad" and at the end the writer's cheated by wrapping everything in a bow with little to no consequences for the actions that were taken in the movie. Horrible.
That part is explained even in the comics. The god that made the crystal and its wishes is a deceiver. The reality you wish for ISNT real even if it takes form in the real world. Renouncing your wish changes things back to normal.... like the reality stone in Marvel. Thanos could have used it to change the world to the way he wanted things, but if the crystal gets taken away or ... destroyed things go back to their static true nature.
Because Wonder Woman was trying to save and redeem the bad guys and everyone from themselves

Regarding the music of the film, it's pretty weak if you ask me. Maxwell, Diana and Cheetah had pretty good themes but other than that, I just didn't like it as much as Hans Zimmer's other works.

The armor wasn’t on the island. It was worn by the warrior that stayed behind. WW says she found the armor (between WWI and 1984), but no other sign of the warrior. Based on her line of work, it kinda fits, but it’s a throw away line. If she was going Indiana Jones to find it, and somehow the stone was revealed that way, it would have worked better for the film.

I would have preferred a Lynda Carter -Gal Gadot team up, where Carter passes the armor off to Gadot. Maybe Carter had been following the trail of the stone, maybe the army Carter held back, the society fell due to the stone and she had been looking for it since. Maybe Carter had the realization, somewhat like Gadot, that humanity has some good parts worth saving. Then Trevor wouldn't have been needed as the companion. He could have been a ghost figure maybe? Maybe Gadot's wish gave him a physical form, which started taking her powers away, so she still would have let him go but in a better process like going through the phases of mourning.

The movies bad. But Pascal is great in this flick. And despite the plot contrivances.. anytime hes in it its pretty good. But the whole is not equal to the sum of those parts. And the CGI, particularly any green screen... gawdawful. Mall scene at the veginning is dreadful and absolutely feels like a Superman 3 scene.
WB should promote the person who recommended releasing Wonder Woman on HBO Max to get them new subscribers. This movie would’ve been dead on arrival if it was released in the summer next year in theaters
