I passed first time after almost a year of lessons. I could not get it at the time. I would make progress in one aspect and falter at something else. Plateaued for a long time, then finally all the pieces started to fit together. Had my test Saturday morning 8 am. Nothing on the roads, 20 mins or so, done. One point I skimmed a curb, didn't mount it, thought I'd failed there and then. Like you said, just carry on as normal and take it one road at a time. After putting myself under too much pressure I was elated. Then learn again in own, new car.
Holly, somme fantastic advise there for new driver's, I've been driving for 22 years and the only thing i tell all driver's is, you never ever stop "learning to drive", so far you have learnt the basic's needed. Now please enjoy driving, be careful and yep have fun, driving is brilliant.
Well done Holly for passing your Driving test first time, you did much better than what I did, I passed mine the third time, but in the days that I did my Driving test they didn't have the theory test as they do now again well done Holly.
You did so well Holly,my granddaughter is 17 in February, shes having her 1st driving lesson the day after, more to worry about, you know what us Nans are like.😮😮. Well done on getting through 1st time, hope you have safe travels in your car, bless you 🥰xxx
Congratulations!, on passing test!, I had lots of lessons about a decade ago and was doing alright, but I had to give up!, because I had cancer and wasn't able to carry them on!. I haven't gone back to lessons, because I'm no longer working, so can't afford lessons, test, or car, insurance tax or anything else, so don't think I will ever carry on with it, I'm 54yrs, so a lot older than you and never had the money to learn when I was in my twenties, I do envy people who can drive and have transport, I have to rely on public transport which never comes on time or cancelled. Just have to accept, I'm never going to pass test or afford to buy car etc, never mind!
Congrats Holly. I passed my driving test today 1st time, never been so nervous in my life but luckily my examiner was really nice and the time went by really quickly. Happy driving :)
It's 40 years since I took mine but all your advice is excellent Holly. I had to change instructors as I wasn't happy and it paid off. Also agree that late morning is the best time if you can get it, avoid schools in and out but also frost in winter!
Well done Holly, and great positive tips for people. I did my tests in rush hour so I didn’t hit the 5 mini roundabouts on top of each other where I lived at the time. 4th time lucky for me as I hated every minute
Congratulations Holly for passing your driving test, my youngest son is learning to drive and he has 2hours a lesson once a week, thanks for your advice 👍
Happy driving Holly. Enjoy it. Well done on the first time pass. My daughter passed 1st time too many moons ago. It's great when you get your first car! x J x
It is very nice, that Holly is using her take away from passing her driver’s test, to advise other young people with good tips! She is a “chip off the block:)” Tim & Holly! In the US, people in NYC drive like crazy, reckless nuts, I hope Brits drive a little more sanely! Be well all!🚐🛻🚙🚕🚙
100% agree with telling them if you think you made a mistake on your test. I did the same thing! I told the guy that I'd done my parking wrong because I was nervous and asked can I do it again 😂 he said he preferred me saying something and passed me. So I always give that advice too ❤
Also brilliant advice definitely get a driving instructor that you feel comfortable with otherwise it can massively effect your confidence forever. Going by my personal experience I had a 3 hour driving lessons with a rude, condescending driving instructor and he said I couldn’t do it!😵 My new instructor is the best and I couldn’t ask for anyone better….👌🏽😁 he’s patient, kind and supportive. My confidence is 1000 times better.
Once again - Congratulations Holly, it's not easy to pass the driving test nowadays, what with the theory test and increased traffic on the roads. One thing I would say and which worked for my first time pass was to get this simple equation in my mind - on lessons, you have to concentrate and impress your instructor for 2hrs, but you only have to impress the examiner for 40mins. If you can drive consistently well on a lesson for more than 40mins then you can pass the test. Sadly, the hardest bit is yet to come. Getting a car, insuring it and running it are a much longer term thing and not getting any cheaper.
Great job Holly! 🎉 Would definitely recommend watching Ashley Neal on TH-cam, he's a fantastic instructor and he not only helps with keeping up to date with changes in the highway code, but he also helps with stuff that isn't even mentioned on the actual driving test but shares tips on how to keep the roads safer. So definitely worth a watch even if you have passed, i still do just to expand my driving skills. 👍😊
Honestly my first time on theory i only passed on multi questions but perception i didnt but i then chose to do driving lessons and when i took my theory yesterday oml the receptionist told me i went in right path and signed my paper told me look at my details if correct and then told me to check my results i felt soo amazing i knew i passed and when i checked i couldnt believe it i was silently screaming in happiness it was my second time when i passed so i agree if youre patient determined to pass and to reach your goal it works out in the end sooner 😁
Iyo holly i got 50 out of 50 on mi theorie but past 2nd time i faild my firsr one cos i did not bring the car to a stop when i past a oncoming cyclist i was doing 1mph and he faild me the thing was i was only on the rd for for 30 seconds i just set off he told me when the test finished .2nd test same guy took me and i past it i recjon i must hold the record for failing the driveing tesr 39 secs🤣🤣 you smashed it well dione lass just be carefull out there theres some bad drivers take ya time dont let um make you feel under presure have a top wee🙂✌k
