Arcanine is amusingly the most ideal ally for Mewtwo raids, because after shield breaks it can sometimes click Leer to boost your long term damage output
I had about 30 fails due to Mews repeatedly trying to Metal Sound and Fake Tears from the start of the battle (before shield is down). Idk if they’re just plain dumb, or if they’re botting. But how is it possible to not know you cannot perform these moves while shield is up? People have even posted YT strays saying to use these. Smh

I wanted to thank you both, with this strategy i was able to defeat it alone using two Switch and two Mew after three tries! Still complex and difficult but certainly doable! Also shoutout to the person suggesting to put 48 EVs into Speed, it was game changing!

Great strat guys. Me and my step son beat this quite often building on this. Swapping life dew with light screen, we basically did struggle bug until the first cheer, then he switched to 2 sword dances until one of us got to orange, then I life cheer. After that he teras into the 3rd sword dance while I struggled followex by light screen, then my own 2 sword dances. While I'm sword dancing he's life leeching. I tera on my 3rd sword dance and we life leech, struggle when he drops to -2 special attack or resets his stats and sword dance when he resets ours.

Downloaded,bookmarked, and added this video to the Favorites tier list since my request was courteously answered, as well as something me & my brother can do since we've always found cheesy tag team cores for previous 7 star raids like a Gastrodon-(Clod/Quag)sire core against Greninja, Mega Man X(Armarouge) & Zero(Ceruledge) against Delphox, Wo-Chien and either Florges(Pikachu) or Brute Bonnet(Chesnaught),Trace Gardevoir & Annihilape against Typhlosion & Inteleon but Annihilape was built per 7 star, or double Corviknight Body Press where one Screeches & the other sets up Reflect.
My husband and I couldn’t get it with life dew/heal cheer but what worked like a charm and worked right on the first try was light screen instead of life dew! So for anyone who has the same issue try it with light screen!

i was able to beat it because 2 of us had swords dance + leech life mews while the 3rd mew focused on struggle bugging the sp.atk down, i think the 4th mew was just someone using their mew as they got it, man had a poison tera mew and tera'd it at the end just to flex💀 man basically emoted while the 3 of us jumped mewtwo 💀
I managed to beat this with my friend and my 6 year old nephew supporting me with light screen/ struggle bug/ electric terrain/ life dew, my nephew kept bringing mewtwo sp attack down and supporting me and my friend, me and my friend did all the heavy lifting, but this duo is great I’ll be doing this with my friend to grind out the rewards

Thanks guys for this. It really helped A LOT. I have 2 switches and I had one of my siblings help me with the raid. Took a few tries but we finally did it.😅 One thing, I placed some of my EVs to Speed (*Edit: 5carbos instead of 20) and Mew outsped Mewtwo which is great. I also replace electric terrain to misty terrain as one my struggles with this Mewtwo is being frozen. He used ice beam a lot in my runs. This did not have an issue when Mewtwo's shield broke as he can't fall asleep as well. Again, thank u guys so much for the input. I'm one of those who did not bother buying the Nintendo Switch Online plans.
Dunno why not (I mean, I kinda do, it's pretty stupid to play online, but still). Their cheapest 1 year plan is $20, plus you get access to some virtual consoles to play retro games

In this raid there isn’t a strict turn by turn plan. You need to struggle bug until Mewtwo’s Sp. Atk is at least -3. Then don’t use leech life until you use 3 swords dance. When Mewtwo clear it’s debuffs struggle bug again. When Mewtwo clears your debuffs, swords dance again. Mix in heal cheer if you or your brother get low! You got this!!
@@dansquared___ IT Worked! We got a Haxorus & Dudunsparce partners, and i used an attack cheer to boost the attack of our mews. The dudunsparce managed to paralyze it with Glare after the shield went down, and we managed to keep it in check with struggle bug while it wae paralyzed, so i'm giving you a sub, thanks for the help
I have a Mew with Struggle Bug, Misty Terrain, Life Dew, and Transform. Misty Terrain blocks Rest and Freeze. After shields go down and Mewtwo cleanses allies, wait 3 turns for the SD Mew to stack up for you, Transform, and Tera Bug +6 Leech Life. I take this online, and win if we have 2 other SD Mew and a non-dumb fourth person. I signal that I have the terrain/support by leading Hatterene in my party before swapping.

@@dansquared___ if I could memo the entire Pokémon community at once: have your front party Pokémon be one of these, to signal what type of Mew you will bring: Scizor or another strong Bug: Swords Dance, Leech Life, Struggle Bug, BLANK Grimmsnarl or notorious Screener: Light Screen, Struggle Bug, Life Dew, BLANK A Fairy type: Misty Terrain, Struggle Bug, Life Dew, BLANK And so on. Once all four are in, see if anybody has a duplicate of your concept. If so, signal you can swap. Once there are 2 Bugs, 1 Screener, and 1 Misty, the host swaps to Mew. Everyone then swaps to their corresponding Mew, and the raid starts. P.S.: I lead Hatterene in case of a late join. It knows Mystical Fire, Misty Terrain, Life Dew, and a fourth move I can’t remember. That way, even if I don’t have time to swap to my Mew, I can still do the same thing.

Good call! Misty terrain prevents freeze as well! But if you raid with a support mew with thunder wave, electric terrain is better. That lets you still paralyze Mewtwo. It’s splitting hairs at that point though

Cool idea in theory but transform only gives you 5 pp per move. You'd run out of leech life. I hope someone sees this so they don't lose 15 minutes like I did. 😢
That’s right! We cannot use status moves while a raid Pokémon’s shield is up. We could use it after the shield is down on a support mon. But there are better moves like struggle bug, electric terrain, mud slap, and life dew
If you transfer this mew to sword and shield, teach it some moves it can't learn in scarlet and violet, but still usable in scarlet and violet, will it still have the stat boosts at the beginning?
When I beat this raid, I had a Mew partner who overrode my Misty with Electric Terrain TWICE, and then I got frozen. I was so mad, but at least we got it.
@@struglife Mewtwo's speed is 296, Mew's speed is 248 after 48 EVs and 297 after 20% boosted, I have been running 48 Spe Evs, not a single problem outspeeding Mewtwo.
Hey guys really really helpful video, I only have one question, I only need to do 1 time Electric terrain, before his shield broken? I mean, Mewtwo don't try to use Rest more times if the Terrain disappear?
You only need to do Electric or Misty Terrain once. Use it when Mewtwo is a couple hits from having its shield broken. If you raid with a support Mew with Thunder Wave, use electric terrain. Otherwise use Misty terrain to avoid getting frozen🤝
I was lucky enough to get into a random group with 2 other great players and one troll. With zero communication the two all star players and myself proceeded to struggle bug mewtwo while simultaneously putting up light screen and defense cheer. The troll clicked metronome every turn until the pp ran out. Mewtwo was denied rest and we leeched some life, while the troll teraed into fighting type and proceeded to low kick mewtwo. What I'm getting at is please don't try to hamper other player's raids by trolling and being deliberately bad.

Managed to get a duo win with my teammate dying. I decided to keep my metronome dmg instead of electric terrain, and that gave us enough dmg to clear the raid. Duo strat is all about managing his Sp. Attack and metronome uptime, so I think electric terrain is not as good as powering through.
How does your Mew have 606 HP? That isn’t possible on Mew even if it has perfect stats and maximum HP investment at level 100 because it should cap out at 404.
i won.t say easy but it works. it is easyer with 3 to 4 players. yeah if ppl don.t have nintendo online and no friends that play pokemon then theres no way your ever catching this mewtwo. i knew it can be done 2 man team because it was like that in sword and shield to. it can.t be solo but 2 man can solo it to.
Why nobody talk about Espathra? 😂 Opportunist Leftovers Max hp and defenses Mud slap Pluck Light screen Roost. Use Pluck and mewtwo will not use rest after shield breaks because it has no berry, nice support for the team

I got the mewtwo by taking my brother switch and trade a support mew over to it and i multitask. Got it with ez with a slightly more time than in the video. I glad my brother had a switch otherwise i wouldnt be able to got it. I dont have nintendo online but i will get a fourth mewtwo on my alt after beating ten five star raids. Too bad it will be a pain to farm more cause of the story lol. But fr Thanks for video cus it help me got my unrival marked mewtwo and my bros although im fighting the urge to take it since i did the work and have to use my own two mews with support and atk builds. 💀 i also named my mewtwo "PAIN"

5 carbos is enough to get mew to outspeed mewtwo due to the 20% boost that mew gets to its stats in this raid

If the calm mind spam is the big issue would a build around “taunt” work, if he can only attack and not buff it could help
Issue is that you can’t use status moves on it when it’s got the shield up
That’s right! We cannot use status moves while a raid Pokémon’s shield is up. We could use it after the shield is down on a support mon. But there are better moves like struggle bug, electric terrain, mud slap, and life dew
Best partners are Bellibolt or Umbreon because they can paralyze Mewtwo

You cant transfer SwSh onlymoves to SV, they'll be erased and replaced with its learnset at the level its at

Nice, but isn't Misty terrain better? It also protects you from the possible freeze from Ice Beam
Electric Terrain is better if you have a AI ally or support Mew that can paralyze Mewtwo. Otherwise Misty Terrain is better to prevent freeze😁
When I beat this raid, I had a Mew partner who overrode my Misty with Electric Terrain TWICE, and then I got frozen. I was so mad, but at least we got it.
Invest 48 EVs into Spe will outspeed Mewtwo, well worth the investment.
Great suggestion! We will have to test this! Did you remove from HP? Once we get up struggle bugs we have plenty anyway

48 speed is enough to tie. You want 52 to consistently beat Mewtwo.
@@struglife Mewtwo's speed is 296, Mew's speed is 248 after 48 EVs and 297 after 20% boosted, I have been running 48 Spe Evs, not a single problem outspeeding Mewtwo.

Hey guys really really helpful video, I only have one question, I only need to do 1 time Electric terrain, before his shield broken? I mean, Mewtwo don't try to use Rest more times if the Terrain disappear?
You only need to do Electric or Misty Terrain once. Use it when Mewtwo is a couple hits from having its shield broken.
If you raid with a support Mew with Thunder Wave, use electric terrain. Otherwise use Misty terrain to avoid getting frozen🤝
Metronome only affects attacking moves, not status moves like Swords Dance.

I was lucky enough to get into a random group with 2 other great players and one troll. With zero communication the two all star players and myself proceeded to struggle bug mewtwo while simultaneously putting up light screen and defense cheer. The troll clicked metronome every turn until the pp ran out. Mewtwo was denied rest and we leeched some life, while the troll teraed into fighting type and proceeded to low kick mewtwo. What I'm getting at is please don't try to hamper other player's raids by trolling and being deliberately bad.

Managed to get a duo win with my teammate dying. I decided to keep my metronome dmg instead of electric terrain, and that gave us enough dmg to clear the raid. Duo strat is all about managing his Sp. Attack and metronome uptime, so I think electric terrain is not as good as powering through.

Mud-Slap goes so hard! We recommend struggle bug over acid spray! Congrats on the W though!
How does your Mew have 606 HP? That isn’t possible on Mew even if it has perfect stats and maximum HP investment at level 100 because it should cap out at 404.
It’s due to the boost Mew gets at the beginning of the raid. “Mew is going all out in this raid” is why.
When you join the Mewtwo raid with Mew it gets +50% HP and + 20% other stats

I use a mew with struggle bug, life dew, acid spray, and nasty plot
We recommend not using nasty plot and acid spray. Special Attackers are going to have a hard time dealing damage because of calm mind😁

i won.t say easy but it works. it is easyer with 3 to 4 players. yeah if ppl don.t have nintendo online and no friends that play pokemon then theres no way your ever catching this mewtwo. i knew it can be done 2 man team because it was like that in sword and shield to. it can.t be solo but 2 man can solo it to.

Yes it is! Mewtwo takes a long time! We went back and forth about cutting, but we wanted to show the whole thing as a reference for folks to see our throught process
This didn’t work for my gf and I. Used struggle bug 6 times between the two of us and Mewtwo was still +3
there is an element of RNG with mewtwo's move selection, so in some cases calm mind use will be above average.

I got the mewtwo by taking my brother switch and trade a support mew over to it and i multitask. Got it with ez with a slightly more time than in the video. I glad my brother had a switch otherwise i wouldnt be able to got it. I dont have nintendo online but i will get a fourth mewtwo on my alt after beating ten five star raids. Too bad it will be a pain to farm more cause of the story lol. But fr Thanks for video cus it help me got my unrival marked mewtwo and my bros although im fighting the urge to take it since i did the work and have to use my own two mews with support and atk builds. 💀 i also named my mewtwo "PAIN"
