    In isiXhosa (South Africa) we say ( ungo waphi?) meaning
    (Where are you from?)

    Wow I love this lesson I'm Uganda West Nile Part border to Congo I'm always want to learn kikongo because in my district we are doing a business with a Congo some Congo coming to our market to sell and buy their good and also our people went to Congo market to sell and to buy there good in Uganda we are a good neighbor with Congo it will be my pleasure to learn kikongo with you 🥰.

    I really like learning kikongo coz the kongo kingdom was the biggest kingdom and advanced in that time which took part of the south of Gabon, cameroun as well (bassa) ppl) kongo brazza, Kongo Kinshasa, and Angola,,, I'm so proud being né kongo (yombe man) matondo Masaka

      I believe Kimbundu is the Angolan version of Kikongo. I’ve never heard it being spoken so I’m not sure.

      She is speaking Kituba (also known as Munukutuba, Monokutuba and Kikongo ya leta, a creole language based on Kikongo), Kituba does not contain verbal prefixes. The Kimbundu and Kikongo languages contain verbal prefixes.

    There was a musician called KIESE DIAMBU NTESA with a nickname'wanted' he played with afisa intl. where he composed the song " Kanda te zuwa te" among others.He also featured in the great Tp okjazz and did justice to Masiya Simaro Lutumba's 'Vaccination'
    From the video I have learnt that the name Kiese actually has a meaning in kikongo and now I will be referring to him as Nice Diambu Ntesa.

    Hi chair I enjoy your videos, I have two questions:
    Why is Kikoongo called Kongo dya ntotila? We have totela people in sesheke district of Zambia within the regional people called baTonga(baGundu). In my studies in Zambia I have only found these people in sesheke. In Congo I have found this name among the mongo-nkundu section of the B80 tetela, and within here there are people called ba Ngongo among ba Dengese. Are bakongo batotela? And what does it mean when you say Bansi ya ntotila?
    Why is the same language also known as munu kutuba?

      You are welcome in Kiswahili we say "karibu/unakaribishwa". I have noted some of kikongo words are similar to Swahili language example - wapi, mosi is same but we normally say " moja", tatu, nani, tanu is tano". "kutuka" we say "kutoka"

      They're similar because they're all Bantu languages. I wouldn't even say they're different languages. Just different dialects. We're all one people.

      It's similar coz are bantu language and we bantu people, kikongo language got a lot of Similarly with Zulu as well, Zulu is(UP) IN KIKONGO, and in Zulu language THEY say MPEZULU meaning UP also

    Since my great great grandmother on my grandfather side from old Kongo before the European colonist divided Africa she end up in British colony in Jamaica who force the former slaves to speak only English. I born and rise here in Canada who the aboriginal people continue to speak there language why not people of African ancestry?

      @@bantuboy9492 not really. There is some similarities even without speaking about the Kikongo loanwords in Lingala but it's not that closely related(in the Bantu group) . Swahili or Bemba seems closer to Kikongo than Lingala

    Munu kutuba is not Kikongo, when white fox arrived in Kongo Kingdom in 1482 they were unable to speak kikongo then they have invented Munu kutuba thinking they are speaking Kikongo.
