Wow,,This is the 4th time ..I keep coming back to this performance...Dom, Sal, Billy & Bob..great!...just listen to all those qt changes...go listen to the original then back to these guys...they nail it
These guys were incredible. This is so it's almost sick! And I say that will total admiration. I've never heard a group capture the sound so authentically.
Wow--this STILL sends chills down my spine just like it did when I first played the record over 40 years ago. An amazing group with awesome talent. This is a classic!
I remember like it was yesterday, when I heard the Sparrows at UGHA. After the show was over, both the Impalas and the Sparrows were doing 8 part harmony back stage till about 1:30am. Probably one the best nites I had as UGHA.
One of Ronnie I's favorite songs. He called it the "everything" song, and favorite acappella groups. Naturally, such careful precision delivery! Niiiice! Sure do miss that Ronnie I, though...such a big void in our music without him. Steve; I met Dom at Clifton Music way back in the 90's. He knows me as Mike from the Bronx. I was a young kid at the time. I lost his number many years ago. He gave me his copy of Gene Mumford - Street of dreams once. I would like to connect with him again.
Yes, I know Dom very well. Tell me your first and last name and then I will call him and see if it is okay for me to give his number out to you. Thanks. Stevie.
They have great harmony especially 1st tenor Sal mondrone not good too forced when he does, talking parts, sounds like bad imitation of a black man from slave days, they need a better lead
Still Magnificent & Superb & Like No Other Acapella Group!
Outstanding- Goose bumps!!!!
My Uncle Sal is proud to be a part of this Era and Quartette. The guy just can't stop singing.
Now that's something to be proud of.

Absolute proof that the Sparrows Quartette was the BEST White group to ever record.

They always sounded superb.
They wouldn't want to sing a song on stage until the harmony reached perfection.

I also get chills on this one.
If you were not watching the Sparrow Quartet you would think the voices to be from black guys.
NIce. Thannks very much.
These guys blow me away.
Great Stuff from the Sparrows!!! The Esquires were a quintet from Fisk University that also recorded as the Five Tinos ...
What a MIND BLOWER..... like coming out of the dark. What a treat. Great Post.
Verrrry nice! Thanks.
We still miss you, Ronnie I!!!
At 3:48 who said "yes darling" ?
+Sal Sofia Mondrone...
It sounds and appears it was added later as Mondrone's mouth doesn't move and it sounds different

Chills is the right word. We miss Billy.
I would have loved to hear more ORIGINAL ballads from them.
