Im having problems with the grouped paths. When it's grouped inkscape doesn't count it as a path. The extrude and union isn't working like how yours does.

What is your page size for the document? On your screen it just looks like a blank page, but when I start a new document it's basically A4 letter size with borders and I never see that on your screen.

There is ticket and a proposed fix at their gitlab repo, issue 1306 (I think YT will hide my comment if I post a link, hence only posting the tiket number)
As far as I know, it does not. I always post lots of links on the comment sections. Maybe youtube blocks mostly repetitive comments, like posting the same links everywhere.
How do you get a version of Inkscape where Extrude works. I've just been to the site and downloaded the latest version it is (4035a4fb49, 2020-05-01) but at the Extrude bit it goes crazy. Can't see anywhere to get a different version. Thanks

My case was it would crash, but I have seen the case where the Extrude "works" but doesn't do what the video shows. In that case, I had to redo the elements I was extruding and then "it works". I still have not figured out why it gets crazy with some items but not with a "duplicate" of the object I work with

I need your help with badge or logo badge at 15:12 with node edit with transformation select. After I duplicate last layer of badge and down scale then select node edits, mouse select middle nodes then click transformation. But transformation not same as your instead two arrows each by top, middle and bottom. I cannot change mode on transformation to same as before on first and second layers of badges?

If you install a font like in Photoshop are they stored in the same folder? I have a LOT of fonts and don't really want to install them individually all again.
Love your work Nick, Ive been waiting for this one. Only trouble is when I use the offset tool it shoots black lines out everywhere instead of swelling the image. So I'm following what you do with the final step of putting the yellow border around, so I duplicate, ungroup, union then recolour it yellow, and there's still black lines from the original drawing showing thru the yellow. I think they're what's causing the shooting lines. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to regroup earlier? Or did I not object to path it? Im stumped.
I must say, my computer doesn't seem to like the new 1.0 version either, especially when I break out the offset tool. It slows right down and inkscape has crashed a couple of times. I might have to go back to the older version and do offsets another way. Hmmm
Help! I had to uninstall Inkscape completely by removing personal preferences. The problem is the following when reinstalling the program: if I use the ellipse, or another shape tool, with a defined contour (Ex: 5000px) when resizing it, the contour changes in thickness (Ex: 6816px). Do you know if you can fix this?
Hello nick, I do have a concern about exporting my inkscape finished files. Whenever I set my dpi into 300, the ratio of my original scale of image size increases thus increases the physical size of the image. for example, let say I made an image at 16:9 or 1536x864 px, to get that image size I have to set the dpi into 96, but when I want it to be exported into 300dpi the image size increase as well as the pixels. really not good for proportioning at web pages or blogs because it distorts the preferred size in return for a good quality image. How can I fix this? Thanks!

I just started watching Tutorials a few hours ago after installing Inkscape Started as a hater, but now I'm kinda enjoying this. It seems more advance than Adobe Anime, for drawing purposes. At 19:40 or so when you talk about hitting the snap to nodes things my option for hitting the 'snap to cusp nodes, incl. rectangle corners' is greyed out and I can't select it. Any idea why?

Rob, to get a totally white canvas, go to File>Document Properties, then uncheck the box for "Show Page Border". Hope it helps

Why do you use offset path when you can duplicate & scale proportionately to the desired offset? Must be a difference somehow.

May be you should try motion option to get circular effect. Extensions->Generate from Path->Motion
