I tried a sample today and I love this creation. It smell very luxurious, rich, and natural. It has a middle eastern vibe to it with rose and saffron combo. I would buy a full bottle.

This is such an alluring, interesting fragrance. It’s just so good and it evolves over a few hours once the apple burns off, turning more heavy and sweet. This is the equivalent of a fine wine imo. This layered 2:1 with the Cobra and the Canary is insane.
This stuff is MAGICAL. I can't wait to review it (after the move)

I just received my short story collection a few days ago, and this one is definitely one of two favorites, along with Memoirs of a Trespasser. Its complexity and unique profile immediately hooked me! I’ve only just began sampling fragrances, and this might just become my first full bottle purchase.

an outstanding review Steven. you nailed it . one of your best analysis of a fragrance.
its uniqueness makes it very appealing ..i totally get the creed comparison..the saffron works because its not culinary as you alluded to.
But I think this frag is not versatile because the saffron note can be polarizing to some (not me) . a little more rose( or apple) is needed to dampen the saffron just a little imo . im more partial to rose.
overall this frag is worth trying out because its unique , smells great and its performance is good.

Interesting... I reviewed this totally blind before the note breakdown was shared.. It smelt quite boozy to me in the first opening!! Something like Gin, all though I don't drink alcohol, before getting Iris very strongly.. did you not get the booze on the first sniff followed by Iris ?? Just intrigued!! I thought Iris stood out very strongly!! I agree it's one of his best :)

I don't think it's benzoin, I have a bottle of that.. but it could be just the combination of notes making it smell that way I guess!
It's certainly an interesting fragrance, I enjoy how surprising it is, as it changes from note to note.. very un usual development!! I think the name fits well, it explodes into the new notes as it changes! Very cool
Nice review. It's such an interesting, different release, showing that Josh continually pushes boundaries and changes things up regularly. It might be one of my favorites as well. The apple factors in very significantly for me, after the saffron and rose, of course.

Kind of similar to the approach of “by the fireplace” “jazz club” or “barbershop” the fragrances by MM. transporting you to a place or a time.

Just got mine already. Great fragrance. Poor performance though, specially in longevity (on me).
may i suggest toning down the warmness, idk if it's the camera effect or the lighting but it comes across harsh especially in the backgorund. also your camera is off centered and tilted. unless that is the style you are going for then feel free to ignore me lol.

Tried a sample of this from Luckyscent just a couple days ago. Probably one of my biggest disappointments in recent memory. There are only 3 frags that I've ever scrubbed off, this is one of them.

Yes it is. You can get Amouages and Creeds for $ 150 at Fragrancenet. This chemical mess comes in a generic bottle and a box made out of recycled cardboard.A highway robbery!! If it wasnt because that company sends free bottles to most reviewers to hype, they would be oput of bussinesses.

hi mate as most tropical scents have poor performance at the moment try viali vm island ..it's a Virginia island water clone ..great coconut and tropical fruit scent ..my girlfriend has adopted it and loves it and it's not expensive..I got it on eBay

+Redolessence I own two: Surf (which smells really good as a summer scent but had really poor (3ish hours) performance. Would not recommend), and Real, which I do recommend. It has really good reviews on Fragrantica, the performance is decent, and scent is really good, and the price point keeps it very compelling. From what I saw on Fragrantica, Real is also the best received American Eagle scent and I do honestly think it is worth a look, at least for the sake of an honest review.
