It's an infernity card because the anime decided to turn into an extremely awesome Western for an arc and they needed some Western themed monsters so they made a monster that's just a giant revolver. Also because its effect was used for character development.
Credit where it's due - I just wanted to say I *really* appreciate fleshing out the historical context of the decks at the start :) At least for me, I find the history side of the "History of" series one of the most interesting parts. It's also nice for the creators/pilots to get their shout out. I know everyone can be quick to critisize, but I think it's important to recognise when things are done well. Thank you again!
this would have been a cool blackwing you already have good traps, and all the monsters can special summon it. Plus any blackwing can find it with whirlwind

I do like the idea of randomizer minimizing the number of monsters you run to increase consistency and maybe if we had a better backrow pool with less conditional effects it might actually work pretty OK. Also, it was very painful when MBT refused to attack the hedgehog despite the fact that he had more than enough life points for any potential splash damage
At 28:15 one of the plays that gets you into the karakuri engine is the following: Foolish Dandy, Normal Lonefire tribute itself for Bulb, Spore eff banish Lonefire, Spore and token into Catstor (machine-nontuner), Bulb and token into Formula, Formula and Catastor into Burei special a karakuri, Bulb eff with Burei into Bureido special second karakuri, go into second Bureido, Pot of Greed.
I find it indescribably funny that MBT never got to resolve Randomizer's effect this episode by drawing a monster. He used it over a dozen times, and every single card he drew was a freaking Spell/Trap. It's almost unbelievable.
_I was there for this._ Specifically when people at both locals and online were trying to convince me that Randomizer was good. I _never_ saw it, probably one of the few good things my lack of understanding card economy did for me at the time(something that seems to benefit an Infernity player at the time somewhat). While people were staring at the innate +1 effect, my mind was looking at a few things: The card you drew is in the card's name, completely random, Archfiend did the job much better pretty much all of the time, even if it needed setup most of the time, because with Archfiend you controlled what your follow up play would be. It was a normal summon most of the time, something that was important at the time, and something you'd rather devote to Necromancer Even if you _did_ draw into Archfiend, and even if it _did_ work the way you would think it does, it's once again, a low chance out of 30+ cards that you'd hit it, and if it _were_ any other monster, there were high chances it was a dead card in your hand and it shut down your entire gameplay, so you were hoping for a spell/trap instead It was level 1. This might not seem like much, but level 1 was a seriously awkward level for Infernities at the time if you weren't a Tuner. During Synchro era, say you revived it off of a Launcher along with another monster, - Archfiend Randomizer Avenger was a level 6, of which the only real good generic one at the time was Brionac(and is somewhat dead under these circumstances) - Randomizer Necromancer Avenger was a Catastor at best, something done infinitely better through Avenger Archfiend - could not make any level 7s or 8s without using two Necromancers, something that was inferior to better jank(looping Launcher repeatedly through a Pot version of Transmigration) - Say you somehow managed to get Archfiend Avenger Necromancer Randomizer on the field, sure you could make Trishula, but I could still tell investing four cards into a single monster was a pretty bad idea even with my lack of understanding of Card Economy. - During Zexal era, it couldn't help you make rank 4s, and to this date the generic rank 1 pool remains shallow and bad. There's probably a few other things I considered at the time, but all of these were what I remembered off the top of my head thinking just _looking_ at the damned thing and having actually played Infernities of several variants.
I feel that if Infernity Randomizer had been printed as nostalgic Legacy Support later down the line, they'd have reversed the damage and the draw parts of the effect in order to avoid the anti-synergy. Something like: Once per turn, if your hand contains no cards: you can reveal the top card of your Deck, if it's a Monster Card, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the Level of that monster x 200, if it's a Spell or Trap Card, take 500 damage, then, you can draw that card.

I know it' s such a nice thing to know, but the full play list for those decks are actually present in the Yu-Gi-Oh 2011 over the nexus videogame! Both of them were pre-constructed decks that you could rent from a special NPCs and try them out!
@@yoel9396 You are actually right, the decks were used by two NPCs! There is a free duel mode in 2011 where you can unlock opponents, and you could unlock both "infernity randomizer" and "Kakakuri" as opponents that used those decks!

A fun jank deck to look into was a revived diamond dude teledad-type deck that used cards like dreadmaster and soul charge to generate some stupid boards using rank eight pool as well as a nice syncho toolbox.
Every time I see someone get beat by a plant deck I get reminded of scary movie 5. More accurately the sequence of running through the cornfield while get punched in the face and ball by the corn.
randomizer pops up again in hat format, it works substantially better then it did when it was first being labbed, though you will have no lack of jank to sort through when you get there
The Karakuri deck reminded me a lot of a deck I used to play similar to it being Quickdraw Machina. Quickdraw synchron is a machine too, so that plus the quillbolts made for some funny plays i must admit
It's surprising that the Randomizer deck didn't run Raigeki Break or Karma Cut, even one or two copies. They resolve the issue of having barrier but being stuck with a card in hand, and provide some much needed flexibility in interaction.
seeing Infernity Barrier with cards in hand reminds me of regionals post SAST pre Salad structure when my opponent played Evenly Matched from hand with multirole and a facedown and I'm like "...You're playing evenly from hand with two cards on the field?" "...Yeah I don't have anything left" He then conceded lmao.
Randomizer control is sweet, I think MBT overdrew in a few spots. It kinda sucks but sometimes you just have to pass without using the effect to play optimally. It was a pretty terrible deck against the best decks in the meta, but it felt good to play, at least until you draw a creature off of its effect and get stuck, or until your opponent realizes they can just do nothing for a couple turns and you don’t have enough pressure against them to win before they shut your deck off 😂 Sweet game! KMP used to be such a monster deck! It’s awesome seeing these decks from the golden era of Yugioh!
I thought of a jank engine, normal pendulum heart of the underdog exodia, reasons is that the normal pendulum monster counts as a normal monster for heart of the underdog and put exodia in for potential ftk with normal pendulum tuners and normal pendulum monsters of the same level to have access to Xyz, Synchro, and Link. It works in most of the video games I've played because I had pendulum summoned the normal Odd Eyes monster and I had another in the back row to cheat out other Odd Eyes extra deck monsters.
