This is my all time favorite movie.. I have 2 dogs, one named Sipsey and 1 named Grady.. I had an Idgie, but lost her 10 years ago. Thanks for doing this.
I can’t thank you enough Jordan. Even though my heart breaks a little, each time I watch it. ( Because of Buddy’s dying). It is still one of my favorite movies. I would truly love to go visit it myself and have some fried green tomatoes. Thank you so much for taking us there, and presenting it as only you can do! You make everything so real, as though we are right there with you!❤️👏👏🥲🙏🥰
Fannie Flagg wrote the book “Fried Green Tomatoes”. It went much more in depth about Ruth and Idgie’s feelings. They watered down that aspect for the movie so there wouldn’t be any anti-lesbian backlash. But, the book doesn’t swell on that issue. It’s A wonderfully sentimental, funny, sad book more about love than anything. Being in love, and love of others. It involves Love between people, love between friends, love of a town, and of a time long gone. I think Fanny wrote the screenplay. It was nominated for an Academy Award. She also wrote a sequel to “Tomatoes”, called “The Wonder Boy of Whistlestop”. It’s about Buddy Jr’s life. Fanny Flagg isn’t just funny, or a TV game show panelist. She is tremendously talented and wrote from the heart. She’s still alive as of this time in 2022.
Whenever I get road rage, I scream “Tawanda” it helps a lot and when someone doesn’t understand something I will say, “secrets in the sauce.” I quote movies and tv fluently. This is my favorite movie. Thank youJordan. Another epic video from Jordan the Lion.
I really loved this movie. Thanks for taking us down memory lane. I live at the end that Kathy Bates realizes that Jessica Tandy is so closely connected to Idgie
My favorite three southern movies are Steel Magnolias, Driving Miss Daisy and Fried Green Tomatoes. Many thanks Jordan for the research and sharing these classic movies with us.
Are you from the south? I like all those movies too. Fried green tomatoes was one of my sisters favorite. She has passed, so it’s hard for me to watch it now.
The movie fried green tomatoes is my all time favorite movie 🎬 and has been ever since i was 9 years old and seeing this little old town and the restaurant is like taking a step back in time to (1938)
This is one of my very favorite movies.....and that is saying something. I'll bet I've watched it 20 times over the years. It's one of those stories that the characters are so real that they crawl into your heart and stay there. Jordan, you should do the author, Fannie Flagg.
The original Whistle Stop Cafe formed in 1929 is located in Irondale, Alabama and is now called the Irondale Cafe. You can eat there and yes Fried Green Tomatoes are served daily.
This is a great movie 🎬 I love it when Kathy Bates rams into the girls car at the store. My mom and I visited here in 2015 and ate the Cafe and walked around the town it was an amazing trip and one we won't ever forget.
Just watched this movie a few months ago, one of my favorites. What a wonderful job you did on the vlog, I didn't want it to end. I'm so glad you went back a couple of days later and ate fried green tomatoes! I would love the chance to go there and eat. Thank you, Jordan, I'm glad you like the movie too!!! 🌼
Oh wow- another of my favorite movies! I bought my mom the book by Fannie Flagg and we were delighted when it was made into a film. Thank you Jordan and its great to see all the locations today. 😊☀️❤️
Tonight I am revisiting the movie fried green tomatoes! I haven't seen it in quite some time but viewed it years ago several times. Great video Jordan!
I really love this movie. I don't remember how many times I've seen it. Great cast. Thank you for taking us there. I've never tried fried green Tomatoes but maybe one day.
Thank you!!!!! One of my favorite movies. Love the scene where Kathy Bates slams into VW of two younger women. I’m older and have more insurance. Love it!!!
Thank you Jordan for all your vlogs living in Perth Australia, never get to see all these great places you show, especially fried green tomatoes my favourite movie ♥️🇦🇺
So great to see this! I only seen bits and pieces of the movie. I now want to watch it! I really want to go to Juliet. Thanks for taking me along! Take care ❤
Love this movie! Thank you for doing this and hopefully we'll get there someday! :) So happy you got there when you did to vlog and then enjoy! Love that they did all of this in town.
I have been to Juliette many times. The railroad company would not let the movie company leave the depot building on their property by the tracks. So, they moved it. My favorite movie!
My sister and I went to the theater to see this movie with our mother who passed away in 2005. Very special to me. I always wanted to see this place in person. Now it feels like I have. Thank you so much for doing this Jordan.
Thank you so much Jordan, one of my favorite movies, cried, laughed, cried sad tears, then happy tears. Wonderful to see the town celebrating its fame and the movie. xx
Super cool you did this, my whole family is from juliette and back during the 60s my grandfather owned the building the cafe is in. You can see his name on the wall and on the inside. It says E.L. Williams store.
You see I’m a railfan I did watch the fried green tomatoes that was a steam locomotive A&WP 290 freight train where buddy got hit his foot got stuck on the probably a old switching track that’s why those tracks are abandoned
I’m from Valdosta originally and you pronounced it perfectly! A lot of ppl who aren’t from there pronounce it “Val-Ō-sta”. Doc Holliday drew up and had a dental office there, his dad was mayor there, too. His mom and dad are buried there and some think he may have been, too. The local museum has some stuff about him including some prescriptions and a bill handwritten by Doc. It could make for a nice stop for you sometime. And if you do, make sure to see The Crescent while you’re there.
One of my all time favorite movies. I always forget it was filmed here in Georgia. Now I want to go to Juliette and have some fried green tomatoes lol. Great vlog, Jordan! Thank you!
This is one of my favorite movies! My husband and I went here a few years ago and loved it! Even listened to the soundtrack driving in. We got to eat at The Whistlestop Cafe and it was delicious! The fried green tomatoes were awesome and so was the “Frank Bennett” bbq lol Must’ve been closed when you went. We also filmed the restaurant area on our TH-cam channel “Will and Alesha”
Wow, thanks so much for this! I literally just watched this movie the other night & at the end, I was wondering if they built this as a set or if it was a real place. This is one of my favorite movies of all time & I watch it regularly. I am thrilled to see the cafe & everything fairly close to original, lots of times people just renovate the originality out of a building. I dream of owning an old town just like this or an old west town & living there.
Hi Jordan, what a great film. It looks lovely and scenic out there in Georgia. Nice aswell that not much has changed at all with the locations. I did like the Hee-Haw backdrop, that made me chuckle. Oh, I'm so pleased that you got to eat there in the end. Great vlog Jordan.
All I can think to say is, "Fantastic Vlog!" Thanks Jordan, for all your hard work in making these historical places come alive with the movies we've seen.
Fannie Flagg the author came out on season 2 episode 22 on the Love Boat series called Love me, Love my Dog (one of my favorite episodes) shown Feb. 24, 1979. She also came out as a guest panelist on The Match Game in 1970. Thanks for showing us the movie locations of Fried Green Tomatoes and of course sweet little Jah snoozing in the car is always an added bonus. ❤️🙏🏻🐕🦺🐾

Thank you for this, Jordan! "Fried Green Tomatoes" is one of my favorite movies, ever. My mom grew up in a small southern town in the late teens, 1920's and '30's, and I spent childhood summers there. Oh that food! The movie got it exactly right. My mom loved this movie too. I feel like I am watching a Valentine to her childhood. In 2016, I scattered my parents' ashes at my mom's childhood home and at another nearby home my grandparents built in 1952, where I spent some of my childhood. The theme from "Fried Green Tomatoes" was playing in my head and my heart the entire time. Again, thank you for vlogging this movie!
Another great one Jordan. This movie is in my top ten list. I enjoyed this flog so much and pretended to be there right along with you visiting all these great sights. Thank you.

I am so happy to know and see that those memorable locations are real---especially the Whistlestop Cafe itself. Thank you for thinking of this, making a video and posting it. Good job Jordan. It enhances the experience of seeing the movie again! It was so cool of you to go back there two days later and see the cafe bustling---- and you got to eat there!

Great idea to blog Fanny Flagg! She lives in Alabama, I think. Birmingham, I think. Anyway, there’s a lot more to Fanny than just being a funny lady
