If these ladies were a band in the 80’s every song would rule the charts. It’s mind blowing they were only teenagers and a preteen when this song was written and recorded. Such great talents we haven’t seen in years. Thanks for playing and supporting their music.
I agree, as long as they didn’t go nuts with their hair like the hair bands. Heart in the 80s even went nuts with their hair. I actually saw Heart in the 80s. I actually believe The Warning would be way bigger in the 80s and 90s than they are now. I feel they may get there but I still feel it’s an up hill battle, at least in the U.S. Latin America I think they will keep getting bigger. Not sure about Europe, let’s see how they do this tour.
When the band began editing the video for this concert, they very quickly pointed to this song as being something special. For one night, on one song, the girls came closer to perfection than at any point in their career. I would have to agree. The vocals. The timing. The feel. The actual playing. Everything came together in a very special performance that perfectly expressed what this song is, and should be. Well done DPA. 🤘🏻🤟🏻
When they wrote Queen of the Murder Scene back in 2018, this was the song they had the most trouble writing. Their dad told them to keep trying. It turned out great. They were 18, 16, and 13 years old back then!
Fred if it is ok I will add to that. Each time their Dad would tell them to keep trying ( GO WORK ON THAT SONG) the girls would altogether say UGHHHHH. This the name of the song
Just to add that this song is technically the most important song on the album . Because of the problems that they had with "Ugh " , two more songs were born out of it , including " The sacrifice " and "The one ", and from the leftovers which really helped to create these other two songs !
I don't know if you are interested but they each did a gear rundown earlier this year and they are finally public on the Digital Tour Bus channel. The Warning's Daniela Villarreal Vélez - GEAR MASTERS Ep. 471 Ale is Ep. 473 and Pau is Ep. 475
DPA struggled to finish the song... Dad Luis: "come on, this is the last song for recording. Finnish it!!!" DPA: UGH... 😂😂 one of my fav of from QOTMS" 💓
Goes to show the necessity of "keeping at it". After, what, nearly a year of struggling... the end result is spectacular. When I was in the military, we called this effect "stick-to-it-iveness". Keep at it, no matter how much it may suck at the moment, because you may well create something _amazing_ .
There is a black & white video on TH-cam of their performance of this song at the Rebel Lounge and if you can react to it later on, it is worth it, as that night the girls' energy was fire, or otherwise at least watch it on your own time.
Watching the entire concert back in August of this year when it premiered was a real treat. Sub to The Warning's TH-cam channel and you can watch all their content
"Ugh" is pronounced exactly like what you'd say if you stepped in dog dirt. It's the sound they constantly made when they couldn't complete the song, and frequently wanted to throw it in the trash.
Good morning, Love your reactions to The Warning. Alejandra is a power house on the bass. She reminds of the thunder of Gene Simmons, the structure of Steve Harris and the ability of Getty Lee combined to make her tone, finger style and just raw talent. I speak mostly of Ale because I'm a bassist first then guitarist second, though I play more than 12 instruments. I'm going to be 53 in a couple of months and I can honestly say that The Warning are my favorite band and love the family mindset they have with their fans. Very special group of ladies that aren't done peeling the skin off your face with their sound. THE WARNING RULE!! Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
Love that you included Steve Harris and Geedy Lee in your comparison. Two of my very favorites, with Ale impressing the hell out of me and climbing the list!

There’s a video of them performing this song somewhere else (I forget where at the moment), but it focuses on pau and let me tell you, she’s such a pro already you can just see that she’s not even trying with all that energy she’s got! She’s actually just showing off with some of her facial expressions.

TW’s struggle completing Ugh! led to 2 other songs on the QOTMS album, The One and The Sacrifice. The title of the song was the working title pre-recording and they thought it appropriate to just leave it as such for the album version. You will not be disappointed if you see them live, that’s guaranteed!
Part of what made me so happy about this concert was just _how many_ QOTMS tunes got played. For a little while, they kind of weren't interested in playing the "old stuff" just because they had a new album out (completely understandable)... and to be honest, if you are a performer you are always going to be more interested in playing the "new stuff". Perfectly reasonable... but I've been very happy to see, well, my subjectively favorite album of theirs get a bit more attention recently. 😋
@@MrJest2 The basic problem is concert time and the length of the setlist. When every song on your current album is worthy of being on the setlist, you end up with a problem of what to choose. It's going to get much worse when the new album drops and they have to decide what gets left off the setlist because I'm sure the next album will also not have any unworthy songs on it.
@@NoSmokingDogs it will be interesting to see with the release of TW4 if TW decides to maintain headlining show length between 1 - 1 1/2 hours or if they decide to expand the length of their shows to be around the 2 hour mark? I remember headlining shows being around the 2+ hour mark when I used to frequently attend concerts.
@@mjc1389 They've easily had enough content for a 2 hour show since Error dropped, it really depends on the venue and possibly the ticket price. If they start booking larger theaters for the next US/Canada tour, I think we can expect longer shows.
You’ve been known to watch other performances of the same song. You got to see the one of Ugh from The Rebel Lounge. It has an energy that is unmatched by any other for this band, IMO.
Still digging your journey…. It dawned in me with this reaction that… yes they are young, yes they are women, yes you don’t see spectacular rock acts from Mexico with regularity. All that is true. But, take all that away: they are the very best rock band there is at this moment, and there is not a close second place. The rest is interesting, but not important. I don’t give a shit who they play with, I’ll go to see The Warning without respect to whomever they tour with. No slight to other acts. The Warning IS rock and roll. Everyone else… is something else.
They are awesome, the attitude of Dany, the power of Pau on the drums and now that Ale grown up, she has that elegance and supermodel rockstar look that OMG, I think soon will starting to make stadiums!!!!
I see people mentioning the Rebel Lounge version so here it is. Recorded only about 3-4 months before the one you reacted to, but it's almost like a punk version, striped down, no light show, small stage, it's fantastic!!! th-cam.com/video/AIgA9SDwu1I/w-d-xo.html
This is what comes out of hard work. The title is the same as the sound the sisters made when they wanted to scrap this song, because they couldn´t get it right. But their father made them finish it and this was the result, sheer perfection master class in composition and arranging. The lyrics: There's so much more to this than that Suppress the feelings bite them back Ah, ah, ah Too many reasons caving in Choking on words that you won't give Ah, ah, ah Now I am trapped within Slowly sinking in Waves of never ending terror Stay forever I am afraid to see What's become of me The rope I'm walking on gets tighter Cross the fire Oh, save me 'cause I'm falling down Oh, we are so far from the ground I don't want to understand I just want to hold your hand The sadness tastes like yesterday And time won't take the pain away Ah, ah, ah Become obsessed with what's destroyed Break all the walls to fill the void Ah, ah, ah Now I am trapped within Slowly sinking in Waves of never ending terror Stay forever I am afraid to see What's become of me The rope I'm walking on gets tighter Cross the fire Oh, save me 'cause I'm falling down Oh, we are so far from the ground I don't want to understand I just want to hold you hand This is not real And what I feel Is only making me reveal What it will take to make me break once and for all!

"Ugh" went through about 20 versions, including lyrics. They were writing lyrics even as they were recording the song in the studio. From the discarded versions, they created two additional songs,"Sinister Smiles" and I believe "Red Hands (Never Fade)" or "Hunter." There's so much more to this than that
Suppress the feelings bite them back
Ah, ah, ah
Too many reasons caving in
Choking on words that you won't give
Ah, ah, ah
Now I am trapped within
Slowly sinking in
Waves of never ending terror
Stay forever
I am afraid to see
What's become of me
The rope I'm walking on gets tighter
Cross the fire
Oh, save me 'cause I'm falling down
Oh, we are so far from the ground
I don't want to understand
I just want to hold your hand
The sadness tastes like yesterday
And time won't take the pain away
Ah, ah, ah
Become obsessed with what's destroyed
Break all the walls to fill the void
Ah, ah, ah
Now I am trapped within
Slowly sinking in
Waves of never ending terror
Stay forever
I am afraid to see
What's become of me
The rope I'm walking on gets tighter
Cross the fire
Oh, save me 'cause I'm falling down
Oh, we are so far from the ground
I don't want to understand
I just want to hold you hand
This is not real
And what I feel
Is only making me reveal
What it will take to make me break once and for all!
