One thing I'll never understand about London is how desperate some people are to get on a departing train when there's literally like one every 5 minutes on the tube 😂
Fr so true every time I go on the tube people are always rushing down the stairs like literally if you miss a train the next one comes in like 60-40 Seconds because most of the time tube trains in London come every 1 to 3 minutes
now i know the reason why the people on the underground dont listen. it is because they want to either be funny, or to hut themselves. because these people who are doing these things are putting themselves at risk of danger, so i dunno how they manage this. you wouldnt be stuck in the tiny gap. in the unlikely event you would, usually the sensors on the PEDs would recognise it and reopen. If it somehow didnt, there is a massive green handle to pull on and release the door
When this happens in SF the agency will order all off and put the train out of service inconveniencing everyone purposely. Pushing or pulling the doors actually prevents the train from passenger service by forcing it into a stop mode that requires a full system reset for that train.
Always remember to employ a safety strategy when travelling on the tube too. My mum is physically less-abled and the amount of time we were given was not enough to get her up in to the train and the doors started to shut on her. It's all well and good the drivers saying it's a disruption and it can damage the trains, but more than 15seconds is sometimes needed. Thankfully it was a 72stock so the doors aren't very forceful. If you are needing more time to board you can speak to station staff, or another good way (especially for platforms where the driver only has a mirror and no cctv) is to stand close to the front of the train, that way the driver can see you on the platform and you'll be more in view as you get on too. Speaking to station staff for help can be key. Best thing is to decide what to do if you get split up. We employed the strategy that because I'm more familiar with the train network that she should stay on the platform and I would come back.
6:33 NAH WHO THE HELL RUNS FOR A VIC LINE TRAIN also the ds before thst was funny lol 7:10 do people not get ehat ‘boop boop boop boop’ means? 7:56 Can the staff understand that the guy needs to get off? I love how people try so desperately to free themselfs when the train cant move until all the doors are shut thinking it will move while they are stuck
I was a baker street jubilee line platform on 29th december and I was on the train, about 6 people went to get on the train and they almost got seperated when they boarded when the doors were closing I was like wtf
why would you block the doors on a tube station with protective glass (idk how it’s called) it’s really dangerous especially if you get stuck between the train and the glass
Whaaaaat?! those are so important, they are called platform edge doors, they stop accidental or unourpose pushes on the tracks. Loads of people have fallen on tracks
If the first one was a tourist he should have been asked if what he did would be acceptable in his country, and anyone who does that sort of thing should be arrested, if not there then where they get off. It is amazing that people try to force their way on when the trrains are every few minutes. Also why try to get on when you can see that the doors have just reopened for a second because someone is stuck in them? What did the underground do before there were door sensors? There must have been some injuries.
Do you need a ramp to get on and off the train in a wheelchair at every station? Here in Oslo every subway station, but one is wheelchair accessible. The platforms are at level with the train making it possible for wheelchair users to get on and off by them self.
Not at every station, but yes, unfortunately a lot of the network is not completely wheelchair accessible. You do need to remember that the Underground is the oldest metro system in the world though and accessibility simply wasn't a concern back then.
