I know how hard it is when you have older pets! All my life I've had cats, and a really good dog, who was part chow & German Shepard...she looked like a red fox, and we called her "Lucky" (because she was in a shelter, and would have been put down:( Lucky was like a human, we trained her to do tricks in hula hoops! (those were the days of yore!) She protected our family! If she did not like you in our home, she would sit quietly watching you, and then attack the person she did not like in our home! Lucky, was a beautiful dog, and she lived for 20 years! My parents said she was abused as a puppy by a Postal worker? Because Lady Lucky hated any man in a uniform and would attack. Lucky was my best friend, and even after all these many year she was a doggie who will always be in my heart. I still have pictures of her...when we took her to walk on the beach, people always said "is she a red fox!" I understand what you are going through. I'm so glad to see Sherpa doing so well. When I travel along a road in my country I see the fields with cattle. In summer the sun is very strong and it is very hot. So the cows get themselves under advertising billboards all together to have cool and shade. They are so cute.🤗🐮🐄❤ On the other hand, I was thinking, maybe if you Jamie walk down the Sherpy's ramp, he'll lose his fear of using it. Just make sure it resists the weight of a person to prevent it from breaking. 😘🐕❤❤

A view is so important. If you miss it, you need it! After years of having to do without a view, I now have 2 different outlooks from my flat and being able to see a view, uninterrupted, is good for my soul and mental well being. Not everyone finds this important but it's obvious that you do Jamie. Don't settle for second best. 😊
I thought it was always nicer weather in Cornwall, up here in Yorkshire we can get four seasons in one day😅 Its lovely to see Sherpa sitting with you again, I'm sure you are so much happier about it❤😊
Jamie one of the things I had to adjust as my dog got older was not to overwalk him. He always wanted to go with me and would actually hurt himself trying to keep up with me. I mention this because Sherpa truly loves you and will always do his best to keep up with you. As a dog parent it will be a hard responsibility to know when you should cut back on his activity. I'm pretty sure that Sherpa jumps up now because he feels confidence about having the choice to do so and can comfortably walk down, jumping up is a safe landing but jumping down is always harsher whatever type of being you are. When Sherpa's had a walk and he may be a little tired he has the ramp to come and join you in the van. Perfect!
