You and your channel have completely changed my outlook on my hair! I used to think wash and gos weren’t for me until your video with Dickey himself. Now I’m a complete convert who washes her hair almost every single night. I’ve even started sharing your vids with random people I meet at the gym!
Oh my goodness! 🥰 This makes my heart so happy! Our hair is so awesome and versatile. I’m convinced we can do just about anything...and thanks for sharing my content! I appreciate it so much! ❤️❤️❤️
My hair sucks up any and every type of moisture in my immediate area. My scalp stays oily now... thank you Mrs Latoya... but my hair looks like the burning bush by the time it dries.
@Jamaal Craig, @Monique @LaToya Ebony Yes.... had huge dryer for home use years ago but it HAD to be balanced properly [evenly and weighted] on the table otherwise it would tip over-lol🙂. Those are fond memories of gentle self-care . Thanks LaToya for another insightful and reflexive video. Appreciated
I may try again when my hair gets longer. If this method did elongate it, it would be at an awkward length. Glad these videos will be around for future instruction - thanks for the great content!
@@BL3SSed-Bliss I did! My difference is that I do air dry and my coils are gonna shrink, which I don't mind. However, now I don't use the tons of product, I'll use Mousse Def and it comes out great.
This all makes so much sense! I've decided that I'm going to cut off all my dead ends so that detangling will become easier, I am going to get a cut that better frames my face, so I can try wearing wash and go's. I will start re-introducing water more frequently in my routine. As a natural the one thing that I was so stuck on was this idea of remoisturizing that many people do without washing their hair some how. I was like how are you moisturizing your hair on hair that is full of product? I saw it more as they were lubricating their strands from protection, but not actually hydrating their hair with water. I'm so nervous for this new journey but videos like yours and many others have finally given me the push I needed to start my hair care journey again.
I enjoyed reading this post, Amina! I also find it quite relatable. How is your journey coming along? Any elements and tips you'd like to share are greatly appreciated. 💛
Thank you soo much, Latoya. I've always been afraid of wash and gos because of the horror stories of endless tangles I've heard. Your tips are very helpful. I actually think is good that your hairdryer only covers the top because the ends are the oldest and most fragile, so the fact that the heat does not hit them directly seems better.
Yes, you have a great point. I don’t mind banding afterward!...Yeah, some people love them, others don’t. It’s nice to give something a few tries before avoiding it. Let us know how it works out!
Great series! It so nice to see wash and gos on hair like mine. Thanks so much for showing that we can let our curls out. We weren't given them to be blown out all the time! 🙂
I get too much build up if I use a non cowash conditioner. Cowashes with a cleansing conditioner are great for me I end up having more moisture compared to shampooing
Yes. Uncleansed hair disallows moisture to properly penetrate, hence "build-up". Essentially, it sits atop, giving the illusion of moisture. This is especially true for low[er] porosity strands. It's like oiling your legs without first _cleansing and conditioning_ them. This is why _lotion_ is water-based, so that it can penetrate epidermis.
I enjoyed this two part series LaToya - thank you for sharing your tips! I started getting into wash and go's last summer and I've used your videos along the way to perfect my routine! I am pretty good at doing them now - which is a far cry from where I started last summer lol. I just purchased the dryer you linked from Amazon - can't wait to elevate my drying experience! I currently diffuse, but my arms get sooo tired before my hair has fully dried lol
Yay! I'm happy to hear that my videos are working for you. I'm also excited for you to try the sit under dryer. I love how low maintenance it is. It's also a really great price. Happy drying!
I’ve been watching your wash and go’s for a while. I also have 4c you should try kinky curly custard it’s way better!! You will see the difference and it’s all natural!
Oooooh please keep us updated on how you like the Aunt Jackie's curl la la. I found some at CVS for like 50 cents a pack and bought it all lol. I haven't used it yet either 🙈.
Great content as usual. During this pandemic I started doing wash n go’s b/c of you! Moisturizing with water and LOTS of product. Who knew (you did 😉). Now I’m having a hard time wanting to do anything else. 😊 I’ll try the gel again b/c of this vid. Wasn’t great for me the first time. My hooded dryers break at the hinges I think b/c they get too hot. I finally bought the one they have in the salons (without the chair attachment) for $300. I love it. I don’t dread dry time anymore!

Hmm. Well it really helped, especially the hooded dryer and banding.
Aunt Jackies Gel did nothing for my hair. It felt like water on my hair. But Ecostyler Olive is the real deal. Also if you don't have a hooded dryer, your washngo will never come out top-notch.

I tried leaving out my hair for some time... Doing low manipulation styles like you, but I have a serious case of hands on hair syndrome. How do you not touch your hair all the time??
Oh.. I did see that my 4c hair would look good in a wash n go... Few years ago, I would have never... I guess having a personal journey with your 4c hair changes your mindset into seeing the beauty in your hair that you didn't, when you were initially going natural... Plus having people like you making it the norm, on social media... Girls are now embracing their tight coils and curls. Thanks girl!
Yes!!!! Just because your hair doesn't coil or curl doesn't make it BAD hair it's just YOUR hair. And it's still beautiful.
