Astra is the agent I main on Valorant. Although my Astra plays may look smooth and random, a lot of my plays can be very aggressive for a smoke player. My goal is to become Radiant as ASTRA ONLY and I will for sure climb the ranks to get it! If you want to learn the utility usage and how to play Astra, I leave tips in my videos as often as I can. riot doesn't want her to be good because a lot of players complained (rightfully so) when she was meta, so I doubt they'll give her a meaningful buff anytime soon, if ever :(

As an Astra mains
We literally share the similar brain cells
Though what I want to add is during post plant
You don't need to instantly succ the spike after the tap
You need to wait for a full 2 seconds after the tap so you can succ
Because, succ needs 1,25 secs activated
+ 2 secs means 3,25 secs
Which is EXACTLY you need for them to NOT half the spike (half defuse equals 3,5 secs fyi)
While the succ itself grats you like 4-5 secs stall
By using this method, you got almost 8 seconds free time advantage rather than 5 seconds
And also. This is a bit of gambling
But as a defuser (against astra with her succ ready)
I'll also put my succ on spike. So when enemy succing, I'll also succ so I can stick to the spike
Trust me, I've been doing this countless time and has 60% successful rate for defusing XD

@@damezz9256 yes, you place it right above the spike, by the time they succ, you should succ too
And your character model will be just right about the outer circle spike so you can still defuse it

The guide was really interesting and helpful ! I did know things in this video but I wasn’t doing it really and it made me realised how much better i would be if I started doing this things thanks you for the guide ! And juste a little question : Do you play other smoker when the map is really bad for astra (such as Ice box and breeze ?)
For Breeze A site, open the wall vertically and enter from the right (additionally throw smoke at the end of the pyramid) or throw it a little closer to the entrance and smoke from the black box on the left so you can enter. For B site, open it vertically and close mid + ct (if there is an initiative, open it laterally otherwise you may die) (As Astra Main, I thought I would give you some information and your tutorial was great, thank you my friend :) and Pearl is missing

awesome guide but what do you think about Gen.G Karon using Astra in Breeze?
This guide is a 9.8 easily the best astra guide I've found on youtube. and it was very helpful. the only thing that i would have liked more discussion around astras place in the meta and for ranked in terms of how strong she is compared to other controllers and also a WHY should we pick her up as a main controller. And maybe a bit more on playstyle. (although you did brush on both mainly near the end) But truth be told I'm nit picking. if you don't mind could you answer those parts for me in a little more detail? Your guide made me want to main her. Im just debating between her and brimstone. Also best of wishes on your journey to radiant.
To better explain WHY you should pick her up as a main controller, here is why I always use her:
-I can smoke ANYWHERE (For omen and Brim you have to move a little closer to wherever you wanna smoke; Brims limited Ipad and Omens limited distance)
-Since I can smoke anywhere AND already pre place my stars, that gives me the option to lurk a lot.
- She has 3 pieces of util for taking space, her zucc and stun and her ult. Omen only had blind and Brim only has a molly.
-You can make a lot of plays by picking up a star
ur content fills me up so good, ur content reaches the farthest and deepest parts of my insides, thank you, oh god it's dripping-
Astra's smoke pull setup is over, now the smoke stun setup shined

Is astra good when you're looking to play with a 3-5 stack of friends on vc who are ALL new to the game?
New as in, just unlocked rank (lvl 20 ish)
like you said how astra is a support agent, that pretty much goes for all the controllers. controllers main goal is to provide utility to make it easier to push and retake sites. i've seen many controllers lurking around instead of giving utility and end up not allowing their team to effectively push

For Breeze and Icebox, Viper is the best. For Fracture I play Astra.

Personally I think it’s better to one way arch when A splitting on ascent and run down cat to tree. 1:43 but I’m not sure if there’s a technical reason not to do that. Open to suggestions on this take 🙏

I'm sorry if it feels obvious to y'all, I just wanted to ask, why is Astra an abysmal pick for breeze? Is she better if you have a viper on your team as well? my intuition would have told me that having a a character that can move your util anywhere on the map at a moments notice can be useful in case they go a different site than planned
In my experience it's more exhausting especially if u solo ranking with less chance of a double smoke comp.
Yeaaaa that was my mindset at the time. Now I just play Astra on every map including Breeze😂
