I have to say listening to GDN narration is always pleasure but here On this video it felt like I was at a Satellite training facility and GDN Was the instructor giving us all A crash course on military structure Of course I already knew about the ranking system through one of my many books but on this video you feel like you're actually there listening to the instructors this makes me want to play steel battalion are ring of red Great Mech games 🤖💨🚀🤖💥🔥
GrimDark, I have been sharing your content with friends and if I may ask sir, where are you from ? no one could confidently identify your accent, bets have been placed- thank you for the work you put into the channel
They had every advantage imaginable in the invasion era; technology, unit size, experience, training... but they still got beaten by a Phone Company😁 I love the clans though.
Alright, this should be a less simplistic and more comprehensive layout than I received from the BattleTech animated series. I do have questions of further curiosity: why a quinary? What determines the number of five Elementals or ProtoMechs in one Point of a Star - average physical mass plus equipment effectiveness? That is one FASA-tastic (sorry, or not) first image of choice shown in your video, Narrator. And I'm not only referring to the foreground model up front, of the two pictured. Great-looking art and machine. Due to the Clans' caste system, for each pilot-warrior to be considered equivalent to an officer makes sense. Would one of those obnoxious jerk pilots throwing around the extraneous title of point commander also shout “get the Point!” into their mic as they make a kill? Infantry stars seem veritably disposable; even among the Clans' culture. Just two Novas to go super, though! This must be the most astrological terms-based science fiction military to I've heard of in any universe or IP. Yep, a very concise and instructional overview. Interesting nomenclature shift out in deep space for similiar military formations, ranks and units. “Bi-”, “tri-”...I guess “quad” is used elsewhere in 'Mech classification. Very in-depth but illuminating to the real-world/sci fi world influences of BattleTech structure. Thank you for this lesson, Commander GDN. This certainly helps clarify your video content further. 'Til your next venture to this universe, I bid you well and have an awesome day.
... they lost because they ignored basic concepts of war like advanced intelligence gathering and subterfuge, thinking them lacking of honor, even though they knew the inner sphere had no scruples whatsoever doing whatever it took to win.
@@oneproudbrowncoatand no, backwater periphery armies with outdated equipment were the reason the invasion went so well initially, further feeding into most clans short sighted, head strong, narrow minded arrogance.
Sorry to late reply, you got most of what the military structure is all about, which I find despite not being fully utilized, is very flexible and and fluid military structure. I think while not important, you left out the Naval Star. This sort structure differs, aside from Fighters operating in points of Two fighters. Naval Stars can consists from DropShips / Jumpships, but most famous and rare is the Warship Naval Stars. Individual Warship (to me is weird) commanded by a Star Commodore, while a Star of Capital ships/Warships is commanded by Star Admiral.

Its probably 5 because the Inner Sphere uses 4, and they had to be different.
Oh boy Mike who can forget animated series of BattleTech one of my favorites Still couldn't top g.i. Joe
are Ghostbusters
Now One can Truly see why the Clans got Trashed by Space AT&T !
Hell, a backwater Periphery outfit with outdated equipment could do that.

Love your work. :)
Thank you!

Secondary units do not get omni mech technology
Depends if the secondary units age of the mechs. Those mechs are still going to be lost tech mechs.
HAHAHA elemental clusters ... Zeta Galaxy of Ghost Bear is nothing but Elemental warriors
Thanks! I think there might also be some non binary units out there you didn't mention.🤔😅😜👍✌️
I see what you did there. Thanks!
