    Glad to see smaller yachts being reviewed as well. Really enjoyed this video.

    Great video, the company might invest in better wind resistant microphones for you though, spoils what is a great video.

    Thanks Toby for another great review. Looks like it's a great little daysailer, but i wouldn't want to sleep in either cabin.

    30-35 years ago, a 31-footer would have been considered a large cruiser. Most cruiser sailboats were still 25-30 ft. Now, it's a "pocket cruiser". Times change! :D

      So true. Boats are getting bigger.

    Great to see some big builders focusing on smaller, pocket cruising or entry level yachts!

    Seems as though the video left out shots of the saloon area as well as the head...or did I just miss them?

    Just a few quetions about this too positive test. This is a typical advertising test. If you're sailing with 4 people, where do you store food for a week? Where do you store fenders? Where did the huuge locker vanished? A test with 10Kn wind should not be called a test

    • @jaytel3195
      @jaytel3195 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a lazarette behind the head for fender storage accessible by lifting the port bench in the cockpit. As for the food storage, get in where you fit in.

      Besides, you can have all sails deployed at max. comfortably up to 20 kts.

    So Toby: Hanse 315 or Pogo 30?

    • @fabienh3943
      @fabienh3943 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't even ask that 😊 A Pogo is a mean looking half racer, strong, seaworthy, fast with tons of competition genes. This is a Golf tdi: well built, practical but... Just look at the grin on his face while testing the Pogo 30. But you'll find this boat for 50 000 less second hand.

      @cbiltris 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fabienh3943 I sailed a Pogo
      Really exciting boat. Reliable, fast made to sail. No comparison possible.

    why is he holding onto the sheet, I'm new to sailing and learning

    • @kimfucku8074
      @kimfucku8074 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Travis Travis you mean @1:55 when the main goes over? Haven't seen this on larger boats to be honest. It's quite common on small boats like a laser or you can do it in where calm wind conditions (shifting). However, given the wind conditions he eased the main sail to take the pressure out in order to reduce heel and then was to come about (tacking). I think what he was doing is slowing down/controlling the boom when it came to the other side. Usually this isn't a problem but given how far he had the boom out to reduce heel, the boom would have picked up speed and just caused a lot of stress on the gooseneck. This is just my interpretation on what I can see in the video. I'm also not a sailing expert and applogy for my clumsy attempt to deliver a possible description.
      The other time when he hold's to the sheet, it looks like he is just prepared when a gust is coming and you need to ease the main or tighten it up again.

      ***** yeah I see what your saying, keeping more sail up but ready to release some wind from the main if need. Thanks man

    They have tried to cram big boat style into a small boat. It never works. Better to keep it open plan and enjoyable. That is all it is.

    • @salvadorrodenas3071
      @salvadorrodenas3071 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My bro has the 2007 version and the engine has 30 HP. A lot for the size. As an option, you can choose a less powerful engine, I think 19 HP is the other option. I'm speaking about the earlier version. It sails like a torpedo!

    This is NOT a pocket cruiser. It's a medium length sailing boat with all mod cons. A pocket cruiser is often a fifth of the price and ranges between 19 feet and 25 feet. Yachting World strikes again.

    • @leftvassis
      @leftvassis 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      25 feet is not a cruiser

      The First 24 or 27, your next daysailors with a household name come at 100k and 130k equipped...You could hardly stand or move in them. No further comments 😉

    word this make a good first boat? would it be easy to sell after a few years when I move up in size?

    • @billregan1981
      @billregan1981 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on what you want to do. It looks very simple to sail with great accommodations for the size. I'd think it would be a great boat for a couple or young family. It wouldn't be terribly difficult to sell, but don't count on getting your money back. New boats depreciate quite a bit.
