- ALF bumps his head and loses his memory...all he knows is that his name is Wayne Schlagel and that he's an insurance agent. The Tanners have only a short while before the police arrive, so they try to make ALF remember who he really is by telling more stories from the past.

ALF follows the adventures of Gordon Shumway, a furry, wise-cracking alien from the planet Melmac who crash lands into the garage of the Tanner family. The Tanners offer him a home and give him the nickname ALF, short for “Alien Life Form.” Created by Tom Patchett (The Carol Burnett Show) and Paul Fusco (who also performed as ALF), the half-hour sitcom rose to popularity in the late 1980s, cementing itself in the pop culture zeitgeist.

I watched ALF as a kid, I was 5, and my parents had to get me the ALF doll...I slept with it for 2 years. I loved him, and the reason I remember him so well is because my dad got it on VHS ❤ My kid doesn't have that kind of fun, there are no shows who's characters we truly love 💔

2:15 Pause- left side: end of the set wall and a light rig! I was about Benji’s age then when this aired and didn’t know about errors, besides so I only JUST noticed this. Must’ve watched the opening a hundred times in my life. Reminded me of the Honeymooners skit on Cavalcade of Stars (before it was its own show) where the kitchen set walls come apart and for a few seconds the crew can be seen. (AKA The Lost Episodes - Streamed Free on demand on Pluto: FYI)

A classic--and sometimes underrated--series. Without the talent in front of and behind the camera, it probably would have faded out in a season or two, tops. Particularly Max Wright-his scenes with Alf could have been standard trading of wisecracks, but their interaction is convincing, effective and really funny.
This classic show is really funny.
That laugh gets me all the time and ever named one of my name lucky
