From a creative standpoint, that is a very good call. Mox and Kingston already have star power and with Darby going against CM Punk in his AEW debut, it would be good to have another trio of wrestlers become the first trios champion. Now that AEW has two years of amazingness behind them, they don't need to "ride a popular name" for legitimacy. I mean I loved Chris Jericho as the first AEW champ and he does deserve it, but if you think about it, does Jericho add more prestige or at least more of a reason to watch AEW for him being the first champ compared to others? I say yes.
I wish that The Wild Thing (Moxley & Kingston), Darby & Sting, and Death Triangle would join forces as a strongest stable on AEW. They got a same vibe!!
AEW has a lot of awesome Trios Teams: Jungle Express, Death Triangle, Mox/Darby/Eddie, 2.0 & Garcia, Best Friends, Dark Order, just to name a few. I’ve never been a huge Trios Tag Title fan, but I wouldn’t hate it for AEW. Especially if it’s defended a lot on Elevation & Rampage.
